How Japan came close to nearly conquering China despite having less military power and population?

第二次世界大戦中、中国が軍事力も人口も勝っていたにもかかわらず、なぜ日本は中国をほぼ征服できたのでしょうか? あんな小さな国である日本がどうやって中国のような大国を征服したのでしょうか？
第二次世界大戦中の日本の中国侵略の成功は、実に興味深い歴史の一章です。日本は地理的には中国より小さいにもかかわらず、戦略的計画、軍事力、政治的駆け引きの組み合わせによって、より大きな隣国に対する優位性を主張することができた。

日本の征服を可能にした主な要因の 1 つは、近代化と工業化を早期に導入したことです。 19 世紀後半から 20 世紀初頭にかけて、日本は明治維新として知られる急速な近代化改革を経験しました。このプロセスにより、日本は軍事技術、産業、インフラの面で急速に西側諸国に追いつくことができました。

対照的に、この時期の中国は国内の混乱と政情不安の時期を経験していた。清朝は汚職、派閥主義、改革への抵抗によって弱体化した。その結果、中国は日本の侵略的な拡張主義的野望に対抗する準備が整っていなかった。

さらに、日本は軍事戦略と外交的狡猾さを組み合わせて中国に対して優位に立った。 1931年、日本は奉天事件を引き起こした。この事件は、中国軍が日本所有の鉄道を妨害したと主張する仕組まれた事件である。この事件は、日本が中国東北部の資源豊富な地域である満州を侵略する口実となった。国際的な非難にもかかわらず、日本は傀儡国家満州国を樹立し、事実上領土を併合した。

満州侵略は日本に石炭、鉄、農産物などの貴重な資源を提供し、それが軍事的野心をさらに刺激した。満州を支配下に置いた日本は中国での影響力を拡大し続け、最終的には1937年の本格的な侵略につながった。

侵略中、日本は従来の軍事戦術と残忍な戦争方法を組み合わせて採用した。大日本帝国陸軍は「総力戦」として知られる戦略を実施し、軍だけでなく民間人も標的とした。推定30万人の中国民間人と武装解除された兵士が惨殺された南京虐殺のような悪名高い事件は、日本が積極的に講じた極端な措置を例示した。

中国はより多くの人口と広大な領土にもかかわらず、日本の侵略に対抗する上で重大な課題に直面しました。国民党と共産党の間の政治的対立を含む中国国内の分裂が、統一した抵抗活動を妨げた。さらに、中国軍は装備が不十分で、技術的に進歩した日本軍と効果的に戦うために必要な訓練や調整が不足していました。

しかし、中国は完全に降伏したわけではない。戦争中、中国の抵抗軍は蒋介石や毛沢東などの指導の下、ゲリラ戦を展開し、日本の占領に対して激しい抵抗を強めた。中国人民の回復力と決意は、紛争を長期化し、最終的には連合軍に有利な方向に流れを変える上で重要な役割を果たした。 War is never the answer.

War will stop on one condition: that we will want to determine connection as being better than separation, and love as being more important than hatred.

In such a state, there will be no “mine and yours,” but everything will belong to all of us equally. While it could be argued that there were failed models of governing society in the past that exercised such a principle, it is not that those models themselves failed, rather the corrupt egoistic human nature is what failed.

We thus need to correct our egoistic human nature so that it would prioritize benefiting others over benefiting itself. That is possible by increasing the importance of connection and love over separation and hatred through our myriad social and educational influences.

When we correct human nature, then we will want to be together with everyone. By doing so, we will gain a sensation of boundlessness: we will stop being limited by our current limits of separating mine from yours, and perceive that we own everything. That is, the correction of our nature is a correction of how we perceive ourselves, others and the world around us, and we will likewise see an end to all war when such a correction takes effect.

羊の皮をかぶったオオカミに時間内に気づくことが重要です！It is important to notice the wolf in sheep's clothing in time!

【物語】そこにはオオカミが住んでいて、近くには羊の大群が立っていました。彼は毎日羊を「呪った」。

羊が森の中を走り回っていた。彼が「いじめていた」羊はのけぞって必死に叫び始め、彼女の叫び声は他の人たちを怖がらせた。

そしてオオカミはすべての羊に単独で語りかけました。

「私は愚かな羊だけを殺して食べるので、あなたは何も恐れることはありません。しかし、私が持っているのはあなただけです、私の親友です。」

この会話の後、羊たちは平和に草を食べ、二度と逃げることはなくなりました。

そして、オオカミが別の羊を殺したとき、彼らはこう思いました、「ああ、彼らはまた愚かな羊を殺した、そして私の親友はオオカミだから、何も恐れることはありません。」」

羊たちは幸せでした。
