Ministerial Meeting at the 76 WHA on Strengthening Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery from Public Health Emergencies through Amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005)
This is an audio recording of the Ministerial meeting co-hosted by Amref Health Africa and the Government of Kenya - which brought together Health Ministers from Africa for high-level conversations on pandemic preparedness, and response processes and commitments by the African countries in the global conversations, especially in the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 amendment. The session sought to secure support from governments for a common position on the IHR amendment process, and identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to improve participation of developing countries in the IHR amendment and to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
Developing a Fit-for-Purpose Health Workforce for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Africa
This is the full audio recording of a high-level convening on developing a fit-for-purpose health workforce for universal health coverage (UHC) in Africa. This was held during the 76th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva at a session co-hosted by Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health and Amref Health Africa with the aim of promoting alignment on priority health workforce interventions that will catalyze countries to accelerate their drive towards UHC; create a shared understanding among primary stakeholders of Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) health workforce commitment and concrete actions towards realizing the set targets, and provide a platform for the health ministers to share their health workforce strategy priority areas and the kind of support needed to realize that agenda.
