The Relevance of Sydney Banks' Role

The Relevance of Sydney Banks' Role

By Ana Holmback

This podcast was born out of a deep feeling. It consists of a series of conversations with individuals who met Sydney Banks in person and who were his students/mentees and also with individuals who never met him in person and still consider him their teacher/mentor. Its focus is mainly on the relevance of Sydney Banks’s role within the Three Principles understanding. And furthermore, there is a question to explore, certainly understanding the relevance of his role, as, why is it crucial?

Dr. Bill Pettit – “Far Beyond”

On this magnificent episode, we had the honor to speak with Dr. Bill Pettit about the relevance of Sydney Banks' role. I encourage all listeners to really hear the different areas Dr. Bill touched on in regard to Mr. Banks. I remembered when we recorded this episode back in June and how I experienced so many different emotions while I was engaged in this conversation.

From Dr. Bill Pettit, "I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who has spent the majority of my career awakening mental health, and sharing the understanding that there is just one cause — and one cure — for mental illness."

Mette Louise Holland - "The Feeling of Who You Really Are."

On this episode, we talked with a friend and colleague, Mette Louise Holland. She is licensed psychologist who lives in Denmark with her husband and children. We had a delightful conversation, I loved her story of being introduced to The Three Principles and Sydney Banks. Enjoy it!

From Mette Louise, "An understanding of the principles of innate health has made all the difference in the world to me. It has changed my life upside down for the better and I have never enjoyed my life, my relationship, my children and my job more than I do now – honestly, there’s not a single spot in my life it hasn’t affected in a way far beyond my imagination. And as for my work life as a psychologist, I feel so much more light, enthusiastic and hopeful for every human being I meet in my practice now, and my mind doesn’t waste a fraction of the energy I used to innocently invest in insecure thinking prior to this understanding."

Dr. Keith Blevens – “A Historic, Monumental Work”

On this new episode, we have as our guest Dr. Keith Blevens. This conversation brings a sense of honor and respect to what was uncovered by Sydney Banks. Listen till the end, it was a full hearted conversation.

Keith Blevens, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a B.A. degree from Indiana University and a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. He has been an adjunct faculty member at nine universities, Clinical Director at the Minneapolis Institute of Mental Health, Director of the Baylor University Psychological Services, on the staff of Pransky and Associates and now owns his own Consulting firm with his spouse of 41 years, Valda Monroe.
He has served as a Three Principles educator, trainer and consultant to executives, businesses, organizations, helping professionals, individuals, couples and families for over 43 years. He is certified by The Three Principles Foundation to teach the Three Principles as discovered and taught by Sydney Banks.
Dr. Blevens is currently working on a book with Valda Monroe at the request of the late Sydney Banks. This will include text specifically written by Mr. Banks only for this work. Prior to Syd's death he wrote this endorsement for the book's cover:
"One of the main reasons I am honored to see Dr. Blevens write this book is that it may bring hope to those who are suffering needlessly and bring answers to helpers looking for the missing link psychology and psychiatry have been searching for."

Jan & Chip Chipman - “The Power Behind the Fact that that Experience Occurred to Him”

Jan & Chip Chipman - “The Power Behind the Fact that that Experience Occurred to Him”

On this episode, we have a beautiful conversation with Jan & Chip Chipman. Sydney Banks' change is so relevant to this story as Chip narrated that it is best described in the book, Genesis of the Three Principles, "... It wasn't about Syd Banks, the man, it was about an unbelievable experience that can't be defined, an experience that happened to him... When you listen to his story, when he talks about his experience you hear him try to explain that Sydney Banks, as a man, basically disappeared for a moment, and the wisdom of all ages rushed into his consciousness.

If we ever forget that that's how it started, then, we will lose the power behind this or we’ll diminish the power behind this, because the Three Principles – Divine Mind, Divine Consciousness, and Divine Thought – have profound implications for humanity, profound implications for understanding the psychological functioning of human beings.  So, it's true that that experience Syd had, had those implications, but the implications aren't the thing... but I can say this: without the recognition of that fact, that that’s what happened, we do lose something; we do lose something."

Jan and Chip Chipman's bio: Chip and Jan had the honor of being mentored by Sydney Banks from 1975 until 2009. From 1994 to 2004 they conducted retreats with him in Europe and North America. His guidance during these events about sharing in as deep and simple a manner as possible, guides their work to this day. They currently share their understanding though speaking engagements, retreats and webinars worldwide. From their base on Salt Spring Island, they offer one on one Skype sessions as well as retreats for individuals, couples, and groups. The books and recordings of Sydney Banks are fundamental to all their work, helping countless people find happiness and understanding after being touched by those original materials. Chip is President of the Three Principles Foundation, and in 2008, co-founded the Three Principles School on Salt Spring Island, dedicated to sharing the simplicity and purity of the Three Principles, “As discovered and taught by Sydney Banks”.
