BOMB TALK 210 :: Season Finale with Ethan Lin

BOMB TALK 210 :: Season Finale with Ethan Lin

Our 20th episode of Bomb Talk and our 2nd Season Finale! And what timing, with the crypto bear chasing us down. When we recorded this live Twitter Spaces, we were staring the bear in the face. At this time, Ethereum is barely hovering over $1,000. So, what’s it all mean? What happens next? Meet Ethan Lin, one of our boldest leaders and ambassadors in Adam Bomb Squad. To close the season out, I wanted to bring someone up from the community who has the insight and composure to help see us through the crypto winter. Ethan is the co-founder of Crypto Education, a Singaporean firm. He’s taught over 30,000 students and 700 mentees since 2017 with the goal of making Crypto investing simple, practical, and profitable. For the Squad itself, he created the Whale Telegram, as well as the Whale and Dolphin Adam NFTs. He is the founder of the SG-ABS club, a Telegram group for Singaporeans in ABS with over 400 members. Please welcome Ethan Lin, I hope this episode brings you solace, strategy, and perspective at this point of the crypto cycle. See you next season, Squad!

BOMB TALK 209 :: Office Hours

BOMB TALK 209 :: Office Hours

After 19 episodes of Bomb Talk, this is the first (and probably last!) one starring Me, Myself, and I! Welcome to an Office Hours edition of Bomb Talk, where I hold court for the first half, talking about the current state of NFTs in May of 2022. Yuga has seized the marketplace with their Other Side land drop. And unbeknownst to us at the time, a significant bear was prowling right beyond the bend. In the latter half of the show, I’m saved by some of my dear friends like Farokh, Justin Taylor at Twitter, and Mec., who enlighten us with their perspectives on the NFT climate.

BOMB TALK 208 :: Building in Web3

BOMB TALK 208 :: Building in Web3

We’ve walked you through the nuances of NFTs and Web3 culture. But, what’s it like to actually build a collection? Beyond the mechanics, there’s a lot to consider and contend with, from minting out to charitable components to what’s waiting for you on the other side. Today, I’m joined by my friends Willie Morris of regenerative farm Happy Goat, disability activist Paula Carozzo of Inclusive Collective, artist Ed Balloon, and rapper/actor Dumbfoundead as they share their stories - the struggles and successes - from creating NFT projects.

BOMB TALK 207 :: NFTS and FASHION

BOMB TALK 207 :: NFTS and FASHION

Considering I’ve been working in fashion for close to two decades, you might be surprised that it took me this long to dedicate an entire Bomb Talk episode to NFTs and Fashion. The reality is that I think there are a lot of designers, founders, and brands that are getting it wrong - or missing the point entirely. We should begin with the fact that NFTs ARE fashion. And in my opinion, there are only a few who get it: not just the mechanics of NFTs, but how to harness the technology in bridging both the digital and the physical. On today’s episode of Bomb Talk, we have the legendary Yoon from Ambush, Charli Cohen of RSTLSS, and Ian Rogers of Ledger offering three different angles and approaches to NFTs and Fashion. I think the future of fashion looks and sounds something like this...

BOMB TALK 206 :: NFTS and ASIA

BOMB TALK 206 :: NFTS and ASIA

Asia has emerged as the frontrunner in the global NFT race with the highest adoption rates in the world. In 2021, Central and Southeast Asia accounted for 35% of the $22 billion global trade of NFTs. In today’s episode of Bomb Talk, we catch up with pop star JJ Lin in Singapore, rapper and fashion designer Verbal in Japan, and SK Lam of All Rights Reserved out in Hong Kong to learn more about how Asia is building Web3 history by building Web3’s future.

BOMB TALK 204: Street Art with Tristan Eaton, Everlast, and RISK

BOMB TALK 203 :: WEN COLLAB w/ Deadfellaz, Smilesss, and BRAiN VOMiT

When it comes to NFTs and Web3, the word “Community” is thrown around a lot. But, when I observe the landscape, we’re still in the nascent stages of subculture, where NFT projects and collectors are broken up into tribes, isolated from each other in their individual Discords. Tribalism is antithetical to Community. We also saw this in the early days of Streetwear, but collaborations between competing brands and designers bridged these networks and over time, established a fortified marketplace. Collaborations built trust amongst brands, and they instilled trust within the consumer. With The Hundreds and Adam Bomb Squad, collaborations between projects are one of our leading initiatives because we believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. And, we are genuinely fans of this burgeoning world around us. Today, we speak with Betty from Deadfellaz, Waheed from All Smilesss, and Steven from Brain Vomit, 3 NFT projects that we believe in - as friends, as creators, and as the future. This episode coincided with the release of physical clothing collaborations with all three guests. Listen in…

BOMB TALK 202 :: Mike Shinoda, Jeff Nicholas, Brandon Tory, Steve Pardo

BOMB TALK 202 :: Mike Shinoda, Jeff Nicholas, Brandon Tory, Steve Pardo

The juxtaposition - if not convergence - of technology and art is always a hot-button issue in culture. Many purists believe that tech has no business being involved in the human creative spirit. Meanwhile, those of us who appreciate NFTs believe technology has not only enabled, but empowered and facilitated creators to execute ideas they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to fulfill. Jeff Nicholas is the founder of WVRPSOUND and their NFT collection, WVRPS, which released the day after this recording. WVRPS is one of the most innovative NFT projects in the space because of its incorporation of music and AI. Jeff, our special guest Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Brandon Tory and Steve Pardo will do a much better job of explaining this! Listen in...

BOMB TALK 201 :: Decentralization of Media with Farokh, Mel, and Keith Grossman

BOMB TALK 201 :: Decentralization of Media with Farokh, Mel, and Keith Grossman

Today’s Bomb Talk is about how Web3 can facilitate the Decentralization of Media. Many of us would agree that there is no more imperfect industry today than the media. There are a lot of reasons for this, but perhaps the most significant is that the news organizations are centralized, meaning they are powered by corporations with self-interests, motivated by profits. Our friends Farokh, Mel, and John Knopf have built a new NFT project called Rug Radio, which seeks to not only address - but upend - these ancient media systems. Keith Grossman also joins us, giving us his perspective on the matter as president of Time Magazine. Listen in…

BOMB TALK 110 :: Philanthropy Edition

BOMB TALK 110 :: Philanthropy Edition

On this 10th and season finale of Bomb Talk, Bobby Hundreds ends on a hopeful note. As NFTs get louder, the backlash is also fomenting (some of it, rightfully so). But, NFTs can do a lot of good in this world, so today, Bobby is joined by legendary Olympian Tommie Smith and activists and artists Glenn Kaino and Jesse Williams to share their project called Pass the Baton, which is making philanthropy, fun, fast, and tech-forward. They are also joined by activists from the ABS family, Victor Nguyen-Long and Will Lex Ham.

BOMB TALK 109 :: Photography Edition

BOMB TALK 109 :: Photography Edition

Welcome to the first NFT Photography-themed episode. This one hits close to Bobby’s heart because his Web3 journey began as a frustrated photographer. NFTs and Web3, however, are re-opening pathways for photographers to find their patrons, maintain ownership, and see royalties from their art. Although photography has been thriving in the NFT space this year, 2022 will see it take off to another level, according to this roundtable with some of the leaders in the movement. If you’re a photographer or just curious about how NFTs are shaking up art and industry, come on in!

BOMB TALK 108 :: Ron English, Blue The Great, and Sophie Sturdevant

Much of the current frenzy around NFTs was kickstarted by artists who used the technology to circumnavigate the galleries, auction houses, and gatekeepers. We collaborated with over twenty artists on bombs in Adam Bomb Squad, including names like DFace, Mister Cartoon, and Aaron Kai. On this Art episode of Bomb Talk, Bobby shares a conversation with three ABS contributors: Ron English, Sophie Sturdevant, and Blue the Great. Together, they share how NFTs have changed their careers and opened their art up to new audiences.

BOMB TALK 107 :: Pussy Riot, Latashá, and 3LAU

BOMB TALK 107 :: Pussy Riot, Latashá, and 3LAU

Of all the industries disrupted by NFTs and Web3 tech, Music has been the most up-ended. It’s no surprise why. Historically, the music artists themselves have found themselves in disproportionate arrangements with their labels and managers. NFTs allow musicians to speak directly with their audiences and reap their fair share of benefits. Today, Bobby hears from Pussy Riot and Latashá on how NFTs are revolutionizing the music industry. We’re later joined by 3LAU who is a true pioneer in Music NFTs, having first attacked the space in 2017.

BOMB TALK 106 :: Gary Vee

BOMB TALK 106 :: Gary Vee

During this recording - our sixth episode - of Bomb Talk, there were more than 4,000 people in the room listening at any given time. It’s not just because Gary Vee has a rabid fanbase, it’s because the topics he touched upon are urgent, important, and not talked about enough in the metaverse. We are all curious and excited by NFTs, but we also need to be careful and responsible with how we engage with the technology. Gary reminds us that most projects will fail, NFTs are a long game, and that many collectors will get this wrong. It’s a sobering, yet enlightening episode, that will teach you to have a deeper respect for this burgeoning phenomenon.

Note: Due to a technical error, our sponsors for the IRL Bomb Talk in New York with Baron Davis, Latasha, and Allen Hena failed to record the fifth episode, hence the jump from 4 to 6!

BOMB TALK 104 :: RTFKT and Jeff Staple

Adam Bomb Squad is the first NFT collectibles project backed by a fashion brand. But, what does it look like from the other side? A metaverse sneaker brand that goes from digital to physical? Bobby links up with 2 of the 3 founders of RTFKT, which is currently the leader when it comes to sneakers for the next reality. They are then joined by surprise guest, sneaker pioneer and streetwear designer Jeff Staple, who bridges both generations and realms. If you’re an enthusiast of sneakers, street fashion, culture and technology, this episode is for you.
