It's been a minute since we've had a true episode of Social Dragonfly and you're in for a treat. We have three stories to share with you today.

1) Gilly's - A story that I had larger aspirations to be a great retrospective of a place called Gillys. But it's shorter than I hoped. I'll explain. Features an assortment of voices, people, speeches, proposals, and nostalgic sounds of a place we used to call home. (~23 mins)

2) Super Bowl 58 - Jimmy G the Statboy, appears as Andrew and talks about the despair and heartache of the Super Bowl and what went wrong. Is football ruined for him? (~20 mins)

3) The Violin - I'm trying to learn the Violin... again. It's been a minute and it's not going to be easy, but it also isn't going to be too hard. I'll just need to find time and patience. You will actually hear my progress. (~20 mins)

It took a little while but we made it. Here we are... Season 2 of Double Doinks and Sackles!

We are Fernando, Travis, and Jimmy G the (insert new team) Statboy.

We talk about what we've all been doing since our last episode since after the Super Bowl. We've been traveling and living life, but glad we are ready to talk about our top 10 of loves, football... American football. Also some of us learned how to make custom t-shirts.

We also talk about other NFL related off season stuff, new quarterbacks in new places, and a segment we recycle from a bit from popular NBA studio show, but for football. And of course more stats that you can stand.

Who names their kid Michael?

What can be said about Michael ... I mean Fernando, that hasn't been said before? He's loud. He says what's on his mind. He loves all things purple. He loves his Minnesota Vikings. SKOL baby. He loves Prince. He loves trivia, specifically football trivia. He loves karaoke. He loves Gilly's, the best bar west of the 15.

Obviously he's all of that but also more nuanced. Did I just write that Fernando is nuanced?

He's also about getting in better shape and melting all those pounds off. What caused that change?

Fernando wasn't his first pseudonym (stage name). He had others as sexy for those cougars in that office he used to work at. He has goals for himself. He's making more adult decisions that might have happened when staring 40 in the face.

Fernando and I went on a walk (sorry about the wind the phone picked up) and I asked him to talk about what motivates him now... now that he's on the other side of 40 and what he sees himself aspire to be after all of these positive changes in his life. We actually talk about what motivates each other and I make an apology to him, based on my first impressions of him.

It's a fun listen and let's see if we get more listens than the Joey episode.

This is Fernando Jackson... or is it?

Come for an audio tour of the last part of my Southeast Asia trip with the sounds of Bali and Gili Islands. Bali is known for tropical drinks, yoga, ancient architecture, temples, and a welcoming attitude for tourists. But it is also known for instagram models, long waits for those aggragated posts and videos that go viral, wild parties, crazy traffic, and tourist traps.

I will remember it for ancient dances and stories, beautiful instruments, offering baskets, rhythmic chopping of ingredients, and very cheap and so very delicious food. And so much culture that I could not get enough of.

There is also Gili Trawangan, one island of a remote island chain, off the coast of Lombok, with it's own vibe and party attitude. But I loved it for it's snorkeling, the nightlife that resembled a speakeasy lounge, and bike riding.

I loved my time traveling on this trip, but I will never forget about Bali. The faces and people I met will be forever imprinted in my memory for a long time. It was so different from my day to day life and everyone should do it as well.

Well well well... and so the end is here... of the 2022 NFL Season.  It's been a ride and hopefully it's been fun for you to join us on Double Doinks and Sackles.... teaching you how to football.

On this episode, we are going to recap that amazing Super Bowl.  Sure there were that was suspect holding call, but it didn't ruin an otherwise amazing game.  Patrick Mahomes is the truth.  Jalen Hurts is also the truth.  We also talk about our favorite games of the season and our favorite games for our favorite teams (Vikings, Jaguars, and 49ers).

And then we finish off the episode making way too early picks for next season's playoffs.  We talk about who can miss the playoffs who were in the playoffs this season and surprise playoff predictions.  We also talk about that quarterback free agency or trade carousel.

And Jimmy G the stat boy... uh Andrew talks about what's going to come up on this podcast in the next month or so.  Here's a hint.  There will be some Social Dragonfly episodes as Andrew is going to be visiting Southeast Asia on a very spiritual journey.  It's going to be fun and hopefully a little heartfelt.

Finally, we really would like to take this time to thank you for listening to this experimental Sports Podcast.  We started humbly and we ended this stretch having learned a lot and hopefully you'll continue to listen to whatever we might release on this page in the future.

On this week's episode, we try not to get PTSD from the Conference Championship games.  That 49ers/Eagles game was the worst.  That Bengals/Chiefs game was better but still something more to be desired.  We discuss some of the coaching movement and speculate on what could happen.

On this week's special show, we go over those playoff games.  The Jags had a chance.  The Giants had no chance.  The Bengals continue to surprise everyone except themselves.  And the Niners continue to do it with anything but an irrelevant player who's Purdy good.  What were the Cowboys doing?  What were the Bills doing?  We also chat a little bit about the various coaching changes going on in the league.

It's the holiday season, we had a few cancellations and our system is a bit out of date, and we're a bit short staffed, so you might have your regular podcast show after the new year... maybe.  No Fernando or Chris this week.  They were not affected by Southwest but maybe they might be down with a major case of the Holidays!

Onnnnnn this week's episode, Travis and Jimmy G the Statboy talk about Week 16 of the NFL, which felt like a lot of football on Saturday and Sunday with NBA sprinkled in.  We also talk about the Jags who are currently in the playoff hunt, all of the cold weather games on the schedule, still a Purdy time in San Francisco, the Eagles lost with Jalen Hurts but it was real close, the Dolphins are not enjoying the month of December, the Broncos have finally reached rock bottom, and the Bucs are in trouble.

Now that you've fully recovered from Thanksgiving, it's time to look back at Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season on Double Doinks and Sackles.  

In today's episode, we recap week 12.  We talk about Jacoby Brissett's last game starting with the Browns, the Jaguars beat the Ravens, two point conversions for the win in two games, Josh Jacobs going off vs the Seahawks, and the Eagles running it down the Packers defense.

We then talk about those free agents (like Geno Smith) that increased their value and who we think could take off.  And then we preview some pretty big profile games in Week 13 of the NFL season.  That QB who shall not be named is back against his former team and then we have these games of note: Bills/Patriots, Packers/Bears, Titans/Eagles, Dolphins/49ers, Chiefs/Bengals, and Saints/Bucs.  That's a lot of good football coming at us this weekend.

How is everyone after their Turkey Day feasts?  Hope you made room for more football.

On this week's second episode, we recap the three Thanksgiving games (the Lions... so close, the Giants... not great, the Vikings... prime time Kirk Cousins showed up!).  We talk about what happened in Week 11 (wow that seemed like weeks ago).  The Chiefs and Travis Kelce always love to torture Travis' fantasy team, New York sucks again because the Giants lost and the Jets have Zach Wilson so it's definitely not his fault, the Eagles got revenge for Colts by beating them for their fired coach?

And finally we talk about the remainder of the week 12 games.

Our commercial is a little different and might affect the Monday Night game in Mexico.

And finally we look at the current playoff picture and look at who's going to make it and who's a fraud.  Then we make our Week 11 picks.
