Be Someone teaches kids the practical skills and techniques to overcome obstacles in life, illustrated through the best and most intellectual visual aid: the chessboard.

We hear a lot these days about crime and violence in some of our local schools and communities but unfortunately news about the good things seldom gets any attention. Today, Orrin C. Hudson is making a change:

I had a vision to bring an overall enjoyment to the process, and not just for the customer – but for me. Let’s face it, it’s hard to motivate for work every day when you’re forever dealing with problems, flaky people, inconsistent suppliers, defective products… and excuses.


My thought was – if I just could eliminate the excuses and obstacles in the process, my job would be fun.


When it came to One Week Bath, I took everything I learned from my experiences… million dollar mansions to humble abodes, to create a new approach to remodeling. One Week Bath started in 2000 and has been a success story since our very first customer. In Azzedine’s first year as President, IFAW signed a historic lease agreement with a Maasai community near Amboseli National Park in Kenya, securing 16,000 acres of precious habitat for elephants. Months later, Azzedine helped establish a first-of-its-kind cooperative framework between IFAW and INTERPOL’s Environmental Crime Program. For years, Azzedine has served as the Head of the Delegation to the CITES Conference of the Parties. And recently, he directed IFAW’s successful campaign for membership to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).


Before joining IFAW, Azzedine served as the Chief of Party for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Jerusalem and Morocco, as well as the Acting Regional Director for the United States Peace Corps in Eurasia and the Middle East.

Gven Sariol and Jethro Magat started the ARC in January of 2018 at the tail end of the 2016-2018 bull run and never thought it would morph into what it has become today. After experiencing some initial temporary setbacks, Gven went on sabbatical and experienced an epiphany that changed the course of ARC for good.


Realizing that the cryptocurrency market was about to erupt on a massive scale, Gven and Jet knew that their business of teaching people cryptocurrency was far from over. Miracle of Help is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit using a community-led development model to help communities mobilize and design solutions that address their overall social and healthcare needs. Sierra Leone has the second highest infant mortality rate in the world. Inspired by firsthand accounts of the poverty and lack of medical services for pregnant women in eastern Sierra Leone, Miracle of Help (MOH) is helping the community build a Maternal Child Health Post (MCHP), for safe childbirth and pre- and post-natal care. The center is located in the village of Ngolahun, a village of slightly over 2,000 people, with no electricity or running water. Four smaller villages within walking distance (total population 2,000) will also receive services from the MCHP.


During our monthly pop-up clinics our doctors have diagnosed some form of malnutrition in 80% of the children they see (see photos). As of the end of May 2022, we established two malnutrition clinics for severe and moderate acute malnutrition for children under the age of five. Our staff was trained by clinicians from Project Peanut Butter & Partners in Health, and both clinics have been certified by the Sierra Leone government. Since the inception of the clinics, twenty-five children have been rescued from malnutrition and their mothers given jobs selling soap to support them. Currently, twenty-seven children are enrolled in the two clinics. The mothers learn how to make Bennimix (provided by MOH), a blend of nutritive food substances to feed their children.

Jason got his start in his home state of Georgia at the Sea Island Resort as Chef de Tournant before moving to Napa and working at The French Laundry. While working as Chef de Partie and poissonnier in Yountville, Chef McKinney earned the restaurant’s award for Chef of the Year. From a family of self-starters, Jason has always had the desire to start something of his own.


Jason McKinney (CEO), Tyler Vorce (COO), and Sarah Rundle-McKinney (President of Communications and Service) met while working together at The French Laundry. The three launched Truffle Shuffle as the honest truffle company at the end of 2018. Truffle Shuffle began with the sole mission of bringing clarity and integrity to the complex world that is truffles.


Truffle Shuffle has come a long way since then, working with truffle-hunting families all over the world to source honest, traceable fresh truffles for passionate, Michelin-rated restaurants, and home chefs alike. Truffle Shuffle products like the Balinese Truffle Salt and Brown Butter Truffle Honey are available in stores like Whole Foods Market and online via Amazon. I had the idea for Truffle Shuffle while I was cooking at The French Laundry. It has since gone through many iterations but the core vision has always been us asking two questions: can chefs be successful in business? Is there a way to connect people through food on a global level? After leaving the French Laundry, we used to throw these lavish dinner parties for foodies and we would have everyone there ask us repeatedly about the latest cooking show, chopped challenge or Top Chef Master. The truth was that we did not really follow any of these shows as we were way too busy, but I started to watch a few and the one I really loved was Chef's Table. Incredible cinematography, compelling storyline, and the food looked so good at the end! I used to think that what if there was a way to watch a cooking show and than eat that dish at the end. As a kid, I bought a second TV and had the Food Network playing 24/7 thinking it would help me become a great chef one day. (I am not sure if it did anything or not.)


The first idea for Truffle Shuffle was an app that chefs could order truffles directly from the hunters and we would cut out the greedy and dishonest middlemen. We started in 2018 by sending a friend to Italy and having them ship truffles back to us and we would go directly to the Michelin star restaurants we knew were using Truffles. We would then tell them the stories about the hunters. Through a ridiculous amount of sheer hustle, we were able to break 6 figures in our first 90 days of business.


In 2019, we wanted to launch a product line and on my honeymoon with Sarah, we met a family that had made the most amazing Balinese Salt that I brought home. Once home, we mixed in our truffles and when we tasted it, we knew we were on to something. The first thing I told Tyler was that this was how we were going to make our first million dollars (I was wrong but a little right!). We ended up landing a deal with Whole Foods and we went to work making a product and learning how to do product demos. We were supposed to get a call in the beginning of 2020 whether or not they would put Truffle Shuffle into every Whole Foods store. That call came at the end of February 2020

We had so many trials and errors with coming up with a concept that would break these limitations. I finally came up with a solution that allowed her to sleep tight and also go out without the worry of a leak. I decided to call it Pretty Panty because of the animal print and they were so cute.


The research that I uncovered continued to haunt me. How could the government not regulate these mainstream products that were closely tied to causing fibroids, ovarian cysts, ovarian cancer and other long-term damage to the health of women?


I decided to give women a better choice offering full coverage, all-natural, and chemical-free feminine hygiene care products. I want to lead the charge and teach women to ask questions about things that are going on with their bodies.


I look to a future where fibroids, PCOS, and all other feminine hormonal-induced disease will be minimized by the preventative effects of Femi Secrets.

I live in Arizona, the hottest state in the union, and I’m an avid outdoorsman who’s explored the world’s deserts – including a 1000 mile trek through the Sahara. I was always grappling with the heat – I didn’t want it to stop me from the activities I love. I looked around for anything that could help, but high-pressure misting systems were only for home or commercial use. And personal systems were low-end, hand-held, mini-fan style misters. That wasn’t good enough!


I knew what I needed – A compact, lightweight hydration backpack with a built-in mist system, hands-free and professional-grade, built for someone out for long hikes, rides or runs. But, would it be possible to get a high-PSI pump and a high-capacity rechargeable battery into a small, light and durable pack?


After extensive research, I was convinced it could be done. I spent over 2 years of development and testing, refining the specs, adding features to make it more flexible, sourcing high-quality parts and making sure it worked.


Then, finally, it was ready! And it has transformed my summer activity! I get more days out, plus I’m more comfortable and having more fun. It’s become my favorite piece of outdoor gear – and I’m sure it’ll become yours, too.
