"I am originally from Italy and graduated in Naples in 2007. Right after graduation, I moved to Spain and worked as a small animal vet for 3 years. In 2011, I moved to the UK to continue to grow professionally. I then gained a certificate in Small animal medicine and have been practicing as a GP vet since then. I am currently studying a ISFM Advance Feline behaviour course as I believe I can help owners to better understand their cats so they can live happier and better together. For the past two years, I have been diversifying into telemedicine which has improved my work-life balance as well as covering occasional shifts as a Locum vet to continue my job in clinical practice with less pressure. In my spare time I cook and bake for myself and friends and I am growing my own veggies!"

I started an informational website for cat owners called All Cats in 2021 in response to the surge in pet ownership, an increased desire from owners for more information about their cat’s condition, coupled with massive veterinary staff shortages resulting in shorter consultation times."

Cuppa Tea With the Vet - Christel Caderius Van Veen
Christel was our first vet of 2021 to join us for our Cuppa Tea! Listen to learn about Mobile vets!
"I am a small animal vet who graduated in 2002 from Bristol. Until November last year I was still in my first job! I enjoyed medicine and surgery but especially focused on diagnostic imaging with a lean towards ultrasound. I was able to gain lots of experience in this being the main sonographer for the large practice I worked in. I also used acupuncture to complement my regular medical therapy. After years of considering it, I’ve decided to get on the road with my skills and have set up VetMobile UK, which will see me providing diagnostic work and medical treatment at the owners home or nearby. I’ll have ultrasound and lab capability, and am ready to meet the challenges of combining old fashioned home visit service with modern diagnostic technology. Outside of this new all encompassing role, I’m a keen amateur dressage rider, with a chestnut mare that I bred keeping me on my toes!"
Cuppa Tea with The Vet with Abby Davis of Eastcott Referrals
We have had another amazing Cuppa Tea with the Vet! This time with Abigail Davis!
Abby's Bio: I qualified from the RVC in 2013, having previously finished a completely unrelated degree at Durham. I started off in a first opinion, small animal practice and joined Vets Now 18 months later to pursue an interest in emergency and critical care (and a disinterest in early mornings). I spent some time as a principal vet at a couple of lovely clinics in the Midlands before moving in early 2020 to join the team at Eastcott Referrals in their new ICU. I now work nights, seeing emergencies and looking after critical inpatients. I’m also doing a certificate in ECC. I love reading, walking, horse riding, video games and spending time with my 2 year old daughter.

First in we have the lovely Christabel Mosely of Twickenham vets! She is so lovely and has so many adoring clients and fans already!
Remember, this is your chance to ask the vet the things you want to know! So come along and get involved!
Christabel told us this to get you started: I qualified from Bristol Vet School in 2000, and started working in Richmond straight away in a practice I had been seeing practice in since the age of 15. In December 2003 I was put in charge of Twickenham Veterinary Surgery, which at the time was a branch surgery to the main practice in Richmond. In 2008 I bought the surgery from Mr Andre and we soon moved into larger premises and took on more staff. We have grown from a one-vet practice into a five-vet practice (FTE 4 vets) and in 2018 we took the decision to join Independent VetCare, as my husband (who is our Practice Manager) and I had taken the surgery as far as we could on our own. We both remained at the practice and I still run the practice as its Clinical Director. Soon after I graduated, I completed the IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) course in veterinary acupuncture, and I have been using this in my management of cases for just over 20 years now. I have two young children - Isabelle is 9 and a half and Antonia is 6 years old.

Cuppa Tea with The Vet with Paul Manktelow, Head vet at the PDSA
On this weeks Cuppa Tea with the Vet, T.V. vet Paul Manktelow joins Donna for a chat!
Paul Manktelow has been a veterinary surgeon for nearly 20 years, working on the front line in some of the UK’s busiest veterinary hospitals. As Principal Vet at PDSA, he leads a team of vets and nurses that treat hundreds of thousands of pets every year. Paul also appears regularly in the media as a TV presenter on a number of prime-time TV shows.
This was such a cool interview!
Paul has removed a tumour from a shark when he was a zoo vet!
Paul is also a great fan of physio and believes we need to embrace paraprofessionals to give the animals a holistic care program. He can prescribe the medications, but the physio needs to do the rest!
Thank you Paul! This is so true!
I asked Paul "What do you love about physio?" and Paul Replied: "As a vet, we only get a limited time with the client. We might be experts in health but when it comes to all the things that holistically sit around treatment, we just don't get the time. So i think that's where the other treatments like physio really step in. We can see an animal with arthritis or post op, and dispense some anti inflammatory, but really, as anyone who has been injured knows; when you invest the time in physio, that's when you make the big advances in recovery....So I think its great that there are all these professions that sit around mine, that are complimentary and supportive and have a holistic view. So I really think that's great!"

We believe that a strong and deep trust creates the most heart warming bond. We know that in those scary moments, when your pet is sick, it is impossible to think straight. We know that at that moment, you need to know you can trust your vet to have your pets best interests at heart and also know that they understand you as an owner too. Listen to our interviews and you decide who you want to trust with the most precious thing in your life, your family.
