Do you hear a trite, chatty, petulant, snobby (admittedly brilliant) uppity pretentious fun bastard on here? Because that's what I hear when I listen to this. And you know what? That's fucking real. Or as close to it is "I" can get. A good deal of my "life" I have spent (pissed away) trying/pretending not to have (be) an ego. What a fucking moronic thing to do. What a catastrophic waste. Don't judge me, I started lurking around these forums at 15 (trauma?) for "the answers" and what I found broke apart my life. I don't know who i would've tried to be or become if i hadn't died into this message but i kind of wish i hadn't. Thus far, I have excelled in so many avenues (sports, music, academics, even gyals at times ) and because "i know im not real" I just haven't given enough of a shit to pursue any of them. WACK. That's a fucking copout. Thats some NPC shit and no longer acceptable here. And "no one" gives a shit what it looks like. I now see what and impossible loop it was for "me" to pretend not to have ego (so someone would take notice? Idk) when the ego IS the pretense. This is the pretense. My getup. My "act". I cant not do it i am it, and would cease to be otherwise. No need to hide its flaws for what they are. There's no way for "me" not to be a literal pretense. Which is the fun of it. I can either be a jubilant, athletic, intelligent, sexy winning, asshole manlet or I can be a helpless sage. Yeah, no fucking brainer. Peace out.

Isn't it interesting that when it comes to awakening, we seem to be waiting on it? In talks about enlightenment there is usually this implicit agreement that it cant be here, now. Don't worry though, keep meditating, keep practicing, Truth is right around the corner. You're almost there just keep pushing on. Keep trying. What loads of horeshit! If we are searching for the ultimate reality, wouldn't it make sense that it's already here. Where else could one find it? This episode addresses that confusion and perhaps sheds a little light on how we ended up commiting to this belief in the first place. Enjoy.

This episode is about the so called "Final Boss" of spirituality. This is the part of the journey where the mind turns stops turning its attention outwards upon the world or "upwards" seeking ever loftier spiritual experiences and states, and returns to its final resting place. Here. Now. And here in this Holy Instant the self must finally face its shadow, the cesspool of denial separation and distraction, that VERY same part of you that drove you to seek out spiritual growth in the first place. The ego. Until this darkness is conquered the journey will never feel complete. But the way this monster is slain is not through more hatred and denial, but complete acceptance and understanding. What lies beyond the veil of split self/other perception is peace impossible to describe, but thankfully, it needs no description, since it is only a decision away. Forgive yourself. Forgive yourself every erroneous perception you have ever had about the world, experience and other people, and your and every insane need you have felt for these forms to satisfy and unconditionally love you. Nothing in the world has the power to GIVE you love, any moment of such joy in your experience has been just a temporary dropping of your guard in the presence of some prized person or object to reveal the love that already resides within as your truest self. How will you know when you are done? When the mind stops seeking, stops adjusting and manipulating and fighting to make the world, other people, and most importantly You (itself) conform to the image it thinks they ought to be, and is able to look lovingly upon all these things of the 3rd dimensional experience and accept them as they are. You are as close to this decision as you have ever been. The journey has no distance, the goal has never changed. The entire path has always been leading you back to this one decision. Love or fear. Acceptance or judgment. Separation or unity. Can you, and will you, forgive yourself?

Alas, we arrive at the crux of the Nonduality Wars. Consciousness. Is it everything? Is it nothing? Is it even worth adressing? Some talking heads will tell you it's all there is. Others will say consciousness is an illusion born out of the dream of separation and the need to Know. Does THIS talking head have the answers? Of course not! Screw answers, we just want the right questions so we can dig in and see for ourselves. Here is just one more reflection on this ponderously old question, with fair warning, the contents might surprise you 😮.

Hey ya'll. Heres a quick take on spiritual ego inflation featuring the One formerly known as Connor Murphy. This is not meant to come across as judgemental, since this kind of confusion can happen to literally anyone. Instead this outlines the dangers of diving into "consciousness work" (specifically through psychedelics) headlong without any spiritual context. I know we might get a giggle or two out of the whole ordeal, but recognize this human being is really struggling and has a hard time integrating what he's come to recognize. Once you have the direct experience of "no you" and how profound it is, your mind might make the mistake of making things "all about you" in a major way. This is just your ego experiencing whiplash, and its something we've all been through. Be cool once you start to see all this stuff. You're not the messiah (anymore than anyone else is) and you're not going to forcibly awaken the rest of humanity. In fact your effort to do so hurts the legitimacy of genuine spiritual communities everywhere. Instead once you see that menu (your personal story) is not the meal (what existence actually is) , simply set down the menu, and enjoy the meal (life)!

Truth cannot be spoken. Language can never capture the ultimate nature of reality. Language is the tool that strengthens the illusion of self and other. Language is the tool of the dream. Nonetheless, here I stand, trying to get really close, for no other reason than that humans are talkative. Faith is the process by which the boundaries of "self" and "otherness" fall apart. Women are growing repulsed and disillusioned with the males in their enviornments, as their hypergamous instinct drives them to seek and demand higher and higher standards for men, and almost without missing a beat, in 2020, the already exorbitant male suicide rate just climbed to a two decade high. Is there any hope for masculinity? Where if at all, does one seek a solution? And what are the causes of this broad scale disenfranchisement of men? We'll explore all these topics and more on this episode of The Animus Files.

Howdy! Welcome to everyone's least favorite part of manifesting their highest good, the details. If you're a dreamer like me, you probably have high aims for how you'd like to see yourself in the future. That's great, however, (as seen from the inside) you may or may not find a whole lot of meaning in practical tasks that present themselves before you now. You don't enjoy the details. You may even feel the urge to skimp out, half ass, or even neglect practicality altogether. Do so at your peril. Because if there's one thing that holds the loftiest dreamer back, it's a lack of participation in the now. Come along for a chat with me and see if we cant dissect the nature of what it means to be an active dreamer.

The energy of desire moves through us all. Learning to channel, rather than suppress that energy makes the difference between a creative and expressive existence to one that halts the attraction based flow of life. Be not ashamed to express your desires. See it as the hand of the creator moving you, guiding you towards the experiences you need to see to unravel the illusion of separation.

Your job is not to make the world a better place. Your job is not to save your brother or sister. Your job is not to build or acquire freedom. All that is required from you with each and every breath is to accept what is, as it is. Surrender the dream of control. Surrender the dream of resistance. Only then (now) does the power to create return to you. In accepting this now, it becomes obvious that the creative power has never left.

Be selfish. Be utterly and beautifully and divinely selfish with regards to what seeds you allow to be planted in your Garden. Your Garden is your mind. The seeds are the thoughts you allow to take root there. A wise gardener chooses lovingly and carefully what it is they wish to plant, and builds fences around their precious seeds to protect them from those who would do them harm. And then, once the seeds have fully matured, and borne flower and fruit, the wise gardener can give freely and abundantly, even to those who would not have respected it. Cultivate your mind (and thus your reality) with wisdom and love.
