Episode 30: Alternates from our Halloween Special
In this episode, the first video version of our podcast A Pint with Friends (Watch on YouTube) , we highlight two beers that made the shortlist but did not make the final cut, which has a real shame because these two beers from Strange Fellows & House of Funk were both excellent.

Episode 29: Halloween Special
In this Halloween themed episode Wrey, Shannon and Scott each share a beer which reminds them of Halloween.
Wrey's Pick
Parallel49 - Schadenfreude
Brewed as a traditional Oktoberfest Lager, this beer sets itself apart from other pumpkin ales by being light and refreshing. Pumpkin is used in the mash along with traditional pumpkin pie spicing in the brew kettle. A large portion of the grain used is Munich malt which gives a nice pie crust flavour to the beer.

Shannon's Pick
Foamer's Folly - BEETLEJUICE – Beet, Blueberry, & Boysenberry Sour
LET’S TURN ON THE JUICE AND SEE WHAT SHAKES LOOSE
This Vibrant Sour has been pumped up by the addition of Beetroot, Boysenberry And Blueberry, creating a puckeringly sour, deliciously juicy beer.

Scott's Pick
Brasserie Dunham - Dunham Jane Doe - Assemblage Hors-Série 8
Blended barrel-aged sour beers with guava.

Episode 28: CraftBeer News - Order Beer & Get 20 mins of Puppy Playtime
What we Drank
33 Acres Brewing Wolf Landbier
Wolf Landbier
4.8% ABV
Rustic, Crisp, Dope
Ale
Landbier means “country beer”, a term Franconian breweries use for a lager that is unique to its location. While no two landbiers are the same, ours uses the 33 Brewing Experiment lager yeast, is conditioned in Foeder 1 and dryhopped with Slovenian Wolf.

2019 Barrelholder Release
5.4% ABV
Harnessing the best of disparate worlds, this meticulously blended beer creates a haven of flavour between an old world, foeder aged Belgian-style Single, and a bright tartness that brings it to life.
Foeder-Aged for 5 months, we blended our inaugural foeder release with a barrel aged sour to produce a delicate dance of nuanced flavour: the genesis of our foeder ageing program has begun!
Moon Under Water - This Is Hefeweizen
Notes of bubblegum, banana, and clove. A multiple award winner at the BC and Canadian Brewing Awards
Crooked Stave - Origins
Burgundy Sour Ale Aged in Oak Barrels
Origins is our homage to the history of barrel aging and those who have influenced us along the way. Traditionally regarded as the most complex of beers, Flemish Reds and Oud Bruins from the Flanders region of Belgium were known for their tart and vinous characteristics; these attributes eventually gave rise to their designation as the “Burgundies of Belgium.” Before we carefully select each blend from our barrel cellar, our burgundy sour gracefully ages in large oak foeders, and finally, smaller wine casks. Origins’ dominant characteristics come from the use of aromatic malts to create dark vinous notes with an acidic tart cherry finish, derived from our mixed culture of wild yeast and bacteria.
Episode 00: Introducing A Pint With Friends
Hello my name is Scott Smith and welcome to A Pint With Friends. In this podcast I share conversations I’ve had with craft beer nerds, musicians, artists, professionals, business owners & friends and other like-minded individuals that will share craft beer stories and experiences from their own craft.
In my conversation with Dan Colyer Brewmaster & co-owner of Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks, he tells me how they embrace their deep roots in geekdom which is the foundation of their amazing beer.
While a conversation with Steel & Oak’s Co-Owner Jordan Foss showed his passion for making great beer is only equaled by his commitment to his local community.
The goal of this podcast is not only my journey into learning more about the craft beer scene here in Vancouver Canada, but also connect with people, meet new friends and share positive stories meant to inspire and motivate you to follow your passions.
One time I also hosted a Beer tasting with my nieces, a Root Beer tasting. It was only then that I realized that sugar might be the most powerful drug on the planet.
Come along with me on this podcast and hopefully try out new things and have a few laughs and inspire you to Share A Pint With Friends.

Episode 11: A Pint With X-Wing & Hobbit Beers
In this episode Wrey, Shannon & Josh in the background flow in and out of beer and board games, specifically Star Wars X-Wing from Fantasy Flight Games and the 3 Hobbit-themed beers from Central City Brewing.
The Smaug Stout: Smaug Stout (9.5% alc./vol) is styled after a classic Russian Imperial Stout, but with a subtle hint of Habanero chilies to remind you of the fire and danger awaiting Bilbo and to the Company of Dwarves in their journey to The Lonely Mountain. Pronounced notes of coffee and chocolate balanced with Northwest Hops and a touch of heat produce an exceptional imperial stout, a worthy reward for your hard-fought journey.
The Gollum Precious Pils: With flavors as smooth and crafty as Gollum himself, the Gollum Pilsner (5% alc./vol) is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley, and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour, with a dry, crisp finish.Like the One Ring which Gollum has spent his life pursuing, the “precious” pils, if your quest leads you to it, may not extend your life, but it may make your journey a little more enjoyable!
The Bolg Belgian Tripel: An Orc chieftain who ruled for 150 years, Bolg seems like the kind who would drink his grog of choice and no one would tell him otherwise; however, this flavorful strong BelgianTripel(8% alc./vol) may be too refined for this otherwise gruesome character.
