Decisions, Decisions
The NFL Draft is around the corner, and the Vikings are equipped with two first rounders, so what will they do? Will they trade up for one of the top 3? Stay and get JJ McCarthy or Michael Penix Jr.? Plus - the NBA playoffs are right around the corner and the Twins are struggling big time on a packed A2a.
Final Four and Final Boss
We've got the Final Four this weekend - how do the guys feel about the way the tournament has gone down so far? Who are their picks? And can't forget about the transfer portal! We also have a week's worth of baseball under our belt and Wrestlemania XL this weekend in a jam packed A2a.
Madness Overload
What an insane couple weeks it has been in sports. March Madness is in the Sweet 16, Shohei Ohtani might have been robbed but also may have a multi-million dollar gambling debt, the transfer portal is open, and the NBA is in the home stretch. The guys try to digest it all in a non-stop episode of A2a.
End of an Era
The Kirk Cousins era in Minnesota has officially come to an end. The guys reflect on it, talk about how they feel about the decision to let him walk, and where the Vikes go from here. Plus, how has the FO done with the rest of free agency?
Will He, Won't He
A bit of NFL contract chatter today with the Vikings starting down the end of the Kirk Cousins era. Should they call it quits? Who is to blame if he walks? And if he does, then what? That moves us to the draft and what are things to watch for in the coming weeks. Plus, the Wolves are up and down but still at 1 in the West, how long can it last?
Do You Believe?
An all over the place episode as we hit a down period in sports is highlighted by the biggest question in the NBA: Do you believe in the Minnesota Timberwolves? They're #1 in the West, league's top D, but can they buck every frame of their history? A little NFL contract talk and a lot more in today's A2a.
A Familiar Story
The Cheifs have won again, and once again Mahomes has done it in comeback fashion. How do the Chiefs keep getting away with this? The guys recap their Super Bowl bets, the halftime show, and of course the game on a football heavy A2a.
Super Bowl Picks and Props
It's Super Bowl week and Drew is back, so the guys put together a bit of a contest. They pick the game, the total, and plenty of props - from normal to obscure to downright bizarre - to see who comes out the other side the big winner. Plus, the NBA trade deadline has come and gone. A can't miss PACKED A2a today.
Where in the World is Drew?
Well, I don't know what to write here because I didn't host. So why don't you come and join me in finding out on what must be quite the interesting A2a with just Sam and Scott! We have the Super Bowl on the horizon and that's really all that matters.
Playoff Push
The NFL Playoffs are upon us and we have narratives on narratives. The guys give their Super Wild Card Weekend picks and a fresh pick for the Super Bowl. A few legendary coaches have called it quits, or have they? All that and more on this week's A2a.
Fun While It Lasted
Well, the Passtronaut has crash landed. The Vikings are being forced to turn to their FOURTH QB of the season, Nick Mullens. But, that's the story of the NFL in 2023. How many games can you win with a backup QB. What do the guys make of all that? Plus, is college football completely ruined? All that and more on a can't miss A2a.
Top to Bottom
The guys favorite teams span the standings top to bottom. The Wolves (?!) lead the West, The Vikings are hanging onto the playoff picture in the 7 spot, and the Wild are at the bottom having fired their coach. Can the Wolves sustain? Can the Vikes recover after bye? Why did the Wild already hire a new coach? All those answers and much much more in today's A2a.
Dobbs, We Have Liftoff
Two weeks into the Josh Dobbs experience, are the guys convinced? Is the season saved? Is he the 2023 QB? The Wolves are the #1 defense in the NBA, are we sure that's a real stat? It's a wild A2a this week full of questions and not many answers.
Take Kirk Higher
Kirk Cousins had the Vikings positioned for a serious run, playing some of the best ball of his career, and alongside the Texas Rangers put Creed back on the map. Then just like that he's missing an achilles and out for the year. Where do the Vikings go from here? Will be back? A little fantasy chatter and a check-in on the NBA round out a jam packed A2a.
As One Ends Another Begins
We're at that part of the year as baseball starts to wrap up and our winter sports start to tip off and drop the puck. The Twins season has come to an end, do the guys think there's something there to inspire hope? What do they need to do? The Wild have started and are already testing some of the hosts' patience...Plus, football reminds wild and fantasy remains impossible. Don't miss another A2a!
18 Was Enough
Perhaps the most preposterous streak in sports has finally come to end! The Twins have actually won a postseason game, after losing 18 straight across 19 years. The guys discuss what that means, how it happened, and perhaps if this might be the start of a new streak. In the NFL, what are we doing at the RB position in fantasy? Are some teams starting to worry after week 4? All that and so much more on today's A2a.
Injury Report
The injuries are piling up and Fantasy Football managers are having to earn their pay after week 2. How would the guys manage it? Are they managing it? All that and a look ahead to our favorite picks in week 2 as 2/3 of the crew are headed to Sportsbooks over the weekend.
Week 1 Overreactions
What a Week 1 we had! Chiefs, Bills, Bengals (and Vikings) all go down in an upside down week of football. Aaron Rodgers will be spending the season on his couch after tearing an Achilles in the biggest story of the week. The guys try and make sense of week 1, plus the Twins are almost certainly headed to the playoffs at this point, and the DWTS roster is officially released. One very special guest is close to home for the guys. Listen to find out who!
Are You Ready for Some Football
The doldrums of summer sports have come to an end, and Football is finally here. The NCAA is headed into week 2, the NFL has kicked off and the guys give a little live commentary on the TNF game. Super Bowl predictions, a little US Open chatter, and so much more on your first NFL preview of the season.
Fantasy Land
Football is finally right around the corner, with NCAAF Week 1 this weekend and Fantasy Football drafts underway, the guys check in on the world of football. We run through Scott's draft and see how we feel about his team. Plus, the US Open and so much more!
A Dead Deadline
Most of today's show is spent covering the Twins Trade Deadline, which is ironic because they did, well, nothing. The guys have plenty to talk about though, as is the case when a first place team chooses not to get better. But is that okay? The Anderson-Ramirez lightweight bout is discussed, and so much more on today's A2a!
Acknowledge Him
With the lull continuing through the summer months, the guys hit on the Twins who are surging, but coming off a disappointing blow up loss. Do they have a chance? They also spend some time chatting WWE and the best athletes* of all time. All that and more on an all over the place A2a.
On the Road Again
The guys take the show on the road, sort of. Scott takes the listeners on an adventure while Drew and Sam try to keep things on track. This episode of A2a covers the MLB All Star Game, Free Agency across both the NBA and NHL, and a little Minnesota Town Ball nostalgia.
Wemby and Friends
The 2023 draft is underway and the guys record live reactions to everyone picked after Victor Wembenyama. But at least one host isn't buying the hype. The Twins are rudderless in the league's worst division, and PJ Fleck has a massive recruiting win from a rival. All that and more on a packed A2a!
Courses and Coaches
A few interesting topics today as the guys dive into the US Open out in LA and the #1 thing on everyone's mind is...the course? The USA is taking on Mexico in Soccer and news breaks during the show, and it's something no one could have expected. Some chatter about where the blame lies for the Twins up and down play, and so much more on today's A2a.
This One's for Dave & Dalvin
This week's A2a is full of Orchard stories in an episode that takes turns all over the place. In the actual sports world, Dalvin Cook is no longer a Viking and the PGA and LIV tours are merging? Sort of? Do we know what it is at all? All that and more on a crazy packed A2a. RIP Dave 2.0
Finals & Filler
The guys have a few major league orchard members to shout out to start the show. Then they go all over the place with the Twins, but never really give an opinion on if they think they're any good or not...They give their picks for both the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup Final in what is an all over, jam packed, can't miss A2a.
Analyzing Analytics
The guys are in a bit of a down time for your local teams, but it spurs a lengthy discussion around analytics in baseball. What's their value? Have we gone too far? Do they matter at all? They check in on some of the NBA playoffs and give a recent Broadway report on an all over, can't miss, A2a.
What's Going On
We're in a bit of a dead period for Minnesota sports, but there's plenty going on around the leagues. The NBA and NHL playoffs are charging ahead. The NFL schedules are released. And Scott has a few interesting stories to tell. All that and more on a can't miss A2a.
Early Exits All Around
The Wild and Wolves are once against bounced in the first round. The guys have mixed feelings about their seasons, but they aren't the only teams who had seasons end in disappointment. The NFL Draft came and went, the Vikings bolstered their roster with playmakers and versatile defenders, but is it who the guys would have picked? All that and more on today's A2a.
Playoff Performances
The Wild and Wolves are full(?) steam ahead in the playoffs. The Wild stole home ice heading home 1-1 while the Wolves have had an 0-2 start that would be much easier to digest if they just, had played a bit better. What to make of both teams chances? Tune in to find out! All that plus, Scott got a new car and the Twins are playing pretty well!
Hello Friends
It's a Jim Nantz tribute episode as the guys spend most of the show on UCONN's championship and the first day of what is sure to be an interesting Masters with LIV players back in the fold. A bit of discussion on the drama in the Women's NCAAB final, and more in a packed episode.
Who's the Final Four?
Well, the guys have had 2nd and 3rd chances at their brackets and they just keep getting busted. It's just that kind of year, but the guys keep trying to make sense of it and give one more prediction for Final Four weekend. On the diamond - it's opening day. The Twins have a fresh lineup, a shiny new scoreboard, and the league has the pitch clock! Is there hope for the Twins? All that plus the Wild and Wolves in a playoff race on a packed A2a.
How Sweet (16) It Is
What an opening weekend of March Madness. The guys brackets are busted, but the good news of a weekly show is they get a fresh shot at picking a champion! Let's see how long that lasts. They breakdown the biggest upsets, surprises, performances, and everything in between. A little home stretch talk about the NHL and NBA, plus the WBC concludes a mad episode you don't want to miss!
This is March
March Madness is here and the guys have absolutely no horse in the race, which makes it that much more fun. Who do they think has a real chance of going all the way? Who is their sleeper, someone ripe for an upset? They break down the bracket and give their picks for who will cut down the nets. Plus, a little World Baseball Classic chatter off some injury controversy.
A Whole Lot of Nothing
Well, there's a lot going on in sports, but is there really? Spring Training, NHL Trade Deadline, NBA stretch run, NCAAB Conference tourneys starting, NFL Combine. Also some huge news out of Dinkeytown as Lindsay Whalen steps down(?) as coach of the women's basketball team. See what the guys sort through in the midst of all that on this week's A2a!
Patrick, Props, and Pregnancies: A Super Bowl Recap
What an incredible Super Bowl we had this year, highlighted by mixed reviews on the Halftime Show which featured a very special and unexpected guest with Rihanna. The guys recap all their prop bets - what hit, what didn't, what did they really have to sweat out? What did that win mean for Mahomes, and what did it mean for the Eagles? All that and more on another packed A2a.
Super Bowl Week
The guys are killing a penalty down one host this week with Sam tending to more important matters. But at the end of the day it's Super Bowl week and that's really all that matters. The guys run through the whole list of prop bets, their actual picks, and other things they're looking out for. Some quick NBA trade deadline chatter rounds out a packed A2a.
That Was a Let Down
Well, the Vikings season is over, just like that. The aging defense put up so little of a fight against the Giants that Ed Donatell is already looking for a new job, and a handful of cornerstone players might be looking with him. What else do the Vikings need to address in KOC's and KAM's first true offseason? Real decisions to be made on so many of your favorite Vikings. Way more Wolves chatter than normal as the guys try to figure out just what might be going wrong with a team with such high expectations. All that and some basketball school chatter, and more!
Back in Action
After a few weeks hiatus the guys are back with a LOT to talk about. Carlos Correa is somehow a Twin...? For 6 more years...? The Vikings ended up in the 3 spot for the NFL Playoffs. The Wild are good, if not spectacular. The Wolves though, can't seem to get it all together. A whirlwind episode is a can't miss A2a!
Spread the Winning Wealth
Sam's a lite arrival but that's okay because the hosts' college reps are off to a 3-0 start! That, plus the Vikings are 7-1 headed into Buffalo who might be without Josh Allen. The Vikings against backups QBs is a tale as old as time. Well, the winning ways aren't quite as good down the street. The Wolves are struggling, and while they aren't the only team they're dangerously close to being the laughing stock of the NBA (again). Who is to blame? Can it be fixed? All that and more on A2a!
+1.5 or Bust
The guys open with some gambling chatter because apparently Scott doesn't know how betting works and Drew just got back from Vegas. Sam's the resident handicapper, and he's not too happy about the whole thing. There's sports going on, and they cover that, but with all 4 major sports underway it's more a whirlwind than deep analysis. They do check in on the Wolves and Wild's average at best starts, and the Vikings have a commanding division lead? All that and more!
3-1 is 3-1
A wild week in Minnesota football saw the Gophers flounder and the Vikings...flourish? Flourish might be a strong word, but any time you go to London and get a win across the Pond it's something to be happy about. Or is it? The guys may not all agree on that. The Gophers, well, were ranked a bit prematurely. The B1G West is still wide open though, so what has to happen for them to make it happen? The winter sports are so close to getting going while baseball wraps up. All that and more on a packed A2a.
Top 25 and 2-1
Minnesota football is looking up! The Gophers are into the top 25 with the Big Ten's easiest schedule remaining, can they cash in? The Vikings escape against (a good?) Detroit team and are off to London to play an underwhelming Saints squad. A few winnable games ahead of the bye. Can they stay above .500 and start to click under the new coaching staff? The Twins are sorta playing too but whatever. All that and more on this A2a!
A New Era in the North?
Week 1 of the NFL is behind us and what a week it was. A few teams let their fans down, a few teams inspired them, and some we just aren't sure what to make of them. Near the top of the optimism radar across the league - your Minnesota Vikings? A beatdown of the Packers has fans envisioning a new era ahead, do the guys think it's legit? Some major fantasy injuries (of course) so how should you react? All that and more on this week's packed A2a.
Dancing into Kickoff
The guys head into week 1 with a heavy loss on their minds, as their biggest fan Queen Elizabeth has passed. Some thoughtful words lead into the cast reveal of season 31 of Dancing With the Starts. Most importantly though, it's week 1, there's a new Super Bowl Favorite, and the defending champs are already washed. Surely no overreactions to week 1 on this week's can't miss A2a.
Start The Slide
The Twins are starting to slip. Consistent struggles by basically anyone not named Luis Arraez and Jose Miranda, plus injuries upon injuries have the Twins out of first place without many positive signs. Can they turn it around? It's the road to the LLWS and the guys have A LOT to say about it. All that and more on a jam packed episode.
Deadline Deals, Too Little Too Late?
The Twins ACTUALLY did something at the deadline?! Do the guys think it's going to be enough to make them a real competitor in the AL? NFL Training camp is underway so the guys swing by there in a jam packed episode.
Gobert or Go Home
Well, Rudy Gobert is a Timberwolf. What does it mean for a perenially cursed franchise that finally was showing signs of life? Do the guys agree on the trade, what the Wolves gave up, if it will work? Just across the street, the Twins couldn't hold onto a lead even if Rudy was standing in the box. Do the Twins have any shot at turning this season into something special? All that and more!
Finals Time, Must be Nice
We're in the heat of the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup. One of the countries most successful sports cities in Boston faces off against Steph (and Andrew Wiggins) going for their 4th. The Lightning head towards a 3 peat while the Avs try to finally capitalize on some of the best regular season hockey we've ever seen. Must be fun for those fan bases, anyways...What should the Twins do ahead of the deadline? All that and more on today's A2a!
