Assume Positive Intentions
In this episode, I discuss how we need to focus on positive intentions in our world. Instead of focusing on the negative, we need to focus on the positive and assume everyone has a positive intention. I start this episode off with a quote from Buddha, "holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else: you are the one who gets burned." Feeling Gratitude and Appreciation in Order to Eliminate Fear
In this podcast episode, I talk about how we can bring more gratitude and appreciate into our lives by letting go of "things" we have become attache too. For example, physical things, procedures, curriculum, and/or routines that can indirectly not allow gratitude and appreciation into our classroom and personal lives. I challenge listeners, in this episode, to consider things that you have become attached too that may no longer serve you. Onward Interview with Janet Baird
In this episode I have the privilege to talk to Janet Baird. Janet is the Bright Morning teammate dedicated to all things Onward–to our website, our workshops, and our expanding portfolio of programs related to emotional resilience. Janet and Elena have worked together for three years, and Janet is a graduate of Elena’s Certification Program.
Janet has been in education for over 20 years, teaching, coaching, and designing and facilitating professional development. She holds a BA from Loyola Marymount University in English and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, Secondary Education from San Francisco State University. She is a certified coach in the Art of Coaching. In addition, she has been a certified yoga instructor for the past 15 years. Her work in Transformational Coaching, yoga, and education feed her passion for helping people cultivate resilience to lead happier lives. Janet’s work focuses on developing the content for the Onwardwebsite and facilitating the Onward workshops. Janet lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons.
