However, when Lilius' parents became ill, she decided to return to her hometown of Akron, OH where she eventually met and fell in love with Tony Rahmel Smith, and soon the two become common law husband and wife.
Things seemed to be going well for the pair until the day of April 3, 1998 when a horrific crime took place in the Fern Street duplex where Lilius and Tony lived. Lilius’ body was found lying on the basement floor and her head had been decapitated.
