004 - Roxanne Price Interview [Arboriculture Australia]
Industry regulation is something that the Arbor industry in Australia has been waiting for, for a long time. The good news is Arboriculture Australia has begun issuing arborist licenses, with the promise of legislation changes by the government if we can get enough arborist on board. It has been a slow start, but Roxanne is confident that we can hit 10,000 active licenses in the next couple of years, which will trigger action by the law makers. For more information on the license program visit: http://arboriculture.org.au/Uploads/Editor/Doc/pdf/Industry_License_Brochure_Oct_2017_Web.pdf If you would prefer to read the transcript, please go to: https://www.gotreequotes.com.au/arbor-industry-getting-regulated/

003 | How to Win Council Tenders
This is an interview with Jason from The Tender Team about what is needed these days to win government or council tenders.  This is super valuable for any tree services business looking to get some more constant work flow for your business. Here are the questions Jason answered in the interview:   1. Before we get started if you could give us a little bit of background about yourself Doug and your experience writing tenders for tree maintenance.   2. What’s the competition like going for these tenders?   3. What do you think are the 3 top things councils /government look when assessing a tender? ( Is it plant and equipment, safety standards, experience? …all of the above_   4. How important is the price? Do council go for the cheaper tenders?   5. If I am a tree business in Australia and wanted a government tender, but all I have done up to this point is private work, what are the sort of things I need to get in order before even thinking about applying for a tender.   6. Why would someone use a tender writer such as yourself over going in alone?   7. What does it cost for tender writing when using a professional company such as yours?   8. What would you say is the average hit rate? (For example if you submit for 10 tenders over a 1 year period, would you expect to get 1 or 2?? or does it depend?)  https://www.gotreequotes.com.au/podcast/https://thetenderteam.com.au/

002 | Strategic Alliances
If you run a small tree business, having strategic alliances and partnerships in place really is the best strategy to land yourself a stack more work.  These are not anything too serious, there are no contracts or really agreements in place, you just add massive value to other business who are in a position to send work your way.  It really is a fantastic way forward and really a free way to get yourself a lot more work.

001 | How to raise your prices and get MORE tree work!
In this episode we look at ways tree services can "add value" to their service to command a higher prices for tree removal and or pruning jobs.  There isn't a product or service on the planet which is does not have different price points, and a lot of the time it is for a very similar product or service.  Some people happily pay double for the same service for perceived value.  Most people will justify to themselves who they will spend more on a certain product or service and a lot of the time people think they are getting a superior product when they pay more.  I what to show you ways that you can not only sell your service as superior, but some really simple ways to standout from the crowd and be superior and deliver over the top value to the customer.  This will initially allow you to land more jobs you quote and eventually lead to you having an influx of work and charging higher prices.
