The Arrive & Thrive Career Podcast

By Tyson Day & Daniel Lunardi

The Arrive & Thrive Podcast was created initially by two mates, Daniel Lunardi & Tyson Day, who shared a love for career education and development. After the tragic and unexpected loss of Daniel Lunardi in February 2022, Tyson now continues their vision, inviting people on the show to share stories and learnings in a bid to help others develop meaningful careers and thrive in their chosen pursuits. We commemorate Dan’s soul with the honour segment, “What are you roaring about?” dedicated to the loving memory of Dan. Learn more about Arrive & Thrive and their programs at arrivethrive.com.au

94. Building an Outdoor Advertising Company with your brother with Luke & James Course - Directors & Founders of Gawk Outdoor

"It's funny; we have never fought. We both understand our roles and knowledge areas and respect that."

Meet James and Luke Course, Directors and Founders of Gawk Outdoor, a Victorian-based advertisement company specialising in regional Victoria billboards, or as James would put it, a 'rectangle on the side of the road'.

Their story is pretty incredible: two brothers started a business back in 2017/2018 around the family dinner table, and they now have over 118 billboards in regional Victoria and 18 staff.

Both have been recognised for their incredible achievements with nominations for the B&T 30 under 30 awards, with James taking the award! Gawk has also been recognised by the Financial Review as a part of its Fast Starters List in 2023. In this episode, the boys talk candidly about their relationship, creating company culture, building a business they are proud of, and what they believe will be the future trends in advertising in regional spaces in Victoria.

They also unpack their favourite regional bakeries and recommend which pie you should have in which town! They are two classic examples of doing what they love, having fun while they are doing it and bringing others along for the ride with them. You can follow their individual LinkedIn updates (Luke Course & James Course) and explore the Gawk Outdoor website for more info.
