Putting ourselves in the right frame of mind requires compartmentalizing. Not an easy walk. I envision it being like the computer folders where we store data. The first step is always giving the folder a name. I've always treated them like book titles. The items in the computer folder should be connected to the information stored. I believe we do it mentally. We store our emotions and dreams inside folders with book title names and can never relocate them. Putting ourselves in the right frame of mind means taking the secrecy out of the reason why a folder was made. Call out your folder for what it is.

Tom Garvey, an Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces qualified officer, served as an A-Team Leader in Viet Nam in 1968 and returned home to mixed reviews about his stability and state of mind. Growing up in Selma, Ala., Asher was surrounded by gospel singers. President Obama went to Selma in 2015 for a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery in honor of African-American civil rights. Asher auditioned for a spot in the choir that was set to perform John Legend's song "Glory." The choir director was so blown away by Asher that Asher led the choir that day, performing in front of 200,000 people. This was also a turning point for his relationship with his father, whom he's always had a complicated relationship with. A couple of years ago, his father survived a car accident and their relationship grew even stronger. They now talk regularly and he greatly supports Asher's music. It was Asher's mom who really pushed him to sing when he was young. He likes to call her his singing sergeant and is excited to make her proud on "The Voice."

I don't want to miss out on the several stages of a real life. Sadly I can't pick up my daily writing of 30 years and help the struggling artist. To offer hope and peace in his moments of question and challenge. Being wiser in life requires those battles an lost moments. There can be no change, only a willingness to live.

For over fifty years, Kool & the Gang have been essential innovators of funk, soul, disco, and R&B, creating rock & roll's most danceable anthems. They are one of the grooviest and most sampled bands of all time, with a recognizable sound that resonates across generations and has brought joy to millions of fans around the globe.

Kool & the Gang took their funky groove all the way to the top with a mix of pop songwriting, fantastic vocals, and a killer horn section. Formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1964, brothers Robert "Kool" and Ronald Bell got their start in clubs, mastering a repertoire of jazz standards and Motown covers. In 1969, they signed to newly formed De-Lite Records and released the up-tempo instrumental "Kool & the Gang." As the daughter of a music producer and drummer, Olivia grew up taking naps in guitar cases, playing around on piano keys and singing in vocal booths. At age 5, she wrote and recorded her first single, "If I Could Fly." At 13, she wanted to start taking it seriously and asked her dad to be her producer. They continued to record together through her teen years, and in 2021 she released her first album, "Silhouettes." While her parents supported her musical dreams, they emphasized the importance of education. During college, Olivia explored international relations & political science.
