Tom Garvey, an Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces qualified officer, served as an A-Team Leader in Viet Nam in 1968 and returned home to mixed reviews about his stability and state of mind. Like many other Viet Nam Veterans, he found few who cared to hear about his time overseas. Now, with his wife Peggy and his wonderful family of five step children and their mates and two world class grandchild, he has finally come home.

Growing up in Selma, Ala., Asher was surrounded by gospel singers. President Obama went to Selma in 2015 for a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery in honor of African-American civil rights. Asher auditioned for a spot in the choir that was set to perform John Legend's song "Glory." The choir director was so blown away by Asher that Asher led the choir that day, performing in front of 200,000 people. This was also a turning point for his relationship with his father, whom he's always had a complicated relationship with. A couple of years ago, his father survived a car accident and their relationship grew even stronger. They now talk regularly and he greatly supports Asher's music. It was Asher's mom who really pushed him to sing when he was young. He likes to call her his singing sergeant and is excited to make her proud on "The Voice."

I don't want to miss out on the several stages of a real life. Sadly I can't pick up my daily writing of 30 years and help the struggling artist. To offer hope and peace in his moments of question and challenge. Being wiser in life requires those battles an lost moments. There can be no change, only a willingness to live.

For over fifty years, Kool & the Gang have been essential innovators of funk, soul, disco, and R&B, creating rock & roll's most danceable anthems. They are one of the grooviest and most sampled bands of all time, with a recognizable sound that resonates across generations and has brought joy to millions of fans around the globe.

Kool & the Gang took their funky groove all the way to the top with a mix of pop songwriting, fantastic vocals, and a killer horn section. Formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1964, brothers Robert "Kool" and Ronald Bell got their start in clubs, mastering a repertoire of jazz standards and Motown covers. In 1969, they signed to newly formed De-Lite Records and released the up-tempo instrumental "Kool & the Gang." They subsequently released two live albums showcasing their ability to produce brilliantly crafted songs and blistering jams over an infectious beat. Their big break came in 1973 with the album Wild and Peaceful, which leaned deep into funky grooves, horn arrangements, and chanted vocals on the songs "Funky Stuff," "Jungle Boogie," and "Hollywood Swinging" - three instant dance floor classics. They slid easily into the growing disco scene, with their "Open Sesame" featured on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

In the 1980s, Kool & the Gang added lead vocalist James "J.T." Taylor and released two massive hits, the bumping "Ladies Night" and the smooth "Too Hot." With this, they accomplished something rare in the music industry - maintaining the fans who loved their funky roots, while reaching an entirely new audience tuned into their growing pop sensibilities. In 1980, they blew the roof off with the international hit "Celebration" and produced nineteen charting singles during the decade.

Kool & the Gang's impact cannot be understated - from the throwback grooves of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars to the inclusion of the group's songs in almost every party playlist. Countless samples of their music laid the foundation for some of hip-hop's biggest hits by artists including Eric B. & Rakim, Tupac, Lil' Kim, and JAY-Z.

As the daughter of a music producer and drummer, Olivia grew up taking naps in guitar cases, playing around on piano keys and singing in vocal booths. Intimacy Coordinator Reveals How Sex Scenes Are Staged and How Actors Are Protected!

From Basic Instinct to Call Me by Your Name, Coming Home to Fifty Shades of Grey, P-Valley to Outlander, sex scenes play a vital role in movies, TV shows, and plays spanning genres and subjects. Yet, as dramas and comedies increasingly reflect the reality of diversity, depicting acts of intimacy in a way that's genuine, affecting, free from entrenched stereotypes, and respectful to audiences and actors is a challenge.

In The Intimacy Coordinator's Guidebook: Specialties for Stage and Screen (Routledge; April 1, 2024; Original Trade Paperback; ISBN: 978‑1‑032‑53147‑2), Brooke M. Haney reveals how intimacy coordinators use their cultural competencies and specialties in practice to create the most compelling storytelling.

As Haney stresses, the job requires competency in the language of choreography - every move performed for the camera or a live audience, from a passionate kiss to a chilling assault, is meticulously choreographed, just like a dance or a fight scene - along with training in tools like modesty garments and props. In addition, an intimacy coordinator must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to read situations and respond proactively. Ron Keel’s RFK Media label digs deep to release Cold Sweat - “Unburied Alive” in conjunction with the band’s appearance at the 2024 M3 Festival May 5th.

The foundation of this album consists of four unreleased studio tracks from the early 90’s, which showcase the band (Marc Ferrari & Erik Gamans, guitar – Chris McLernon, bass – Anthony White, drums – and Roy Cathey, vocals) delivering powerful heavy melodic rock at its finest. The lead track “Rain Down” is a classic-style arena rock working class anthem; “Unburied Alive” also features vintage concert cuts from their 1990 appearance at the Super Rock Festival in Mannheim, Germany supporting Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Dio and Poison, plus recent modern-era live recordings from their triumphant reunion at the 2020 Monsters Of Rock Cruise pre-party. 

Ferrari founded Cold Sweat after departing the band Keel in 1989. The band released their acclaimed cult classic “Break Out” on MCA Records and toured the US and Europe before falling victim to the changing musical landscape of the 90’s. This collection of recordings proves that the music has stood the test of time, and the men behind that music plan to drive that point home when they hit the stage May 5th in Columbia, Maryland at this year’s M3 Festival, on the bill with Bret Michaels, Night Ranger, Y&T and Stryper.

There's so much change and challenge. When you think you've got it, there's more change and challenge. It's a circle we continue to step in. It's not that we dislike change, it's just taxing on our emotions.
