Herbalists & Healers, NOW is the Time to Show Up with Karly Ketron

I never thought I'd be alive to witness the global shift we're in the midst of. It's daunting and inspiring and a whirl of other emotions all at once. I sat down with a fellow sister and herbalist, Karly Ketron, to discuss how to determine what our communities need and how we, as herbalists and healers, can heed to the call.

About her:

Karly Ketron is a recent graduate of The California School of Herbal Studies and Gathering Thyme Herb School. She is applying the knowledge that she learned to her love of teaching through her podcast, "The Wise Wytch's Medicinal Plant Podcast" and her social media platforms because her heart's work is leading her to ensure that herbal medicine is available to everyone. She currently lives in Mendocino County where she is assisting her partner in the development and production of a permitted, regenerative, organic cannabis farm. Along with the sacred medicine of cannabis, she is building an herbal medicine oasis and hosting space for her budding apprenticeship program. Karly loves to spend her time in the kitchen- making medicine (whether it's food or a tincture), playing in her garden, and is in her most purest state of joy when she is fully submerged into a body of the Earth's water.

History & Modern Applications of Plant Energetics // Episode 2

Plant ener-who? Master Herbalist, Astrologer, and Holistic Health Educator David Osborn articulated it perfectly: "The four humors are the metabolic agents of the four elements in the human body."

Two years into studying herbalism, I integrated these mechanics into the curriculum unaware there was a term for it. The process of herbal concoction making cannot be discussed without plant energetics, the base of all medicine making. In this episode, you'll uncover:

  • History of plant energetics
  • Concentric circle of the Four Elements, explained
  • Current applications of plant energetics today for practicing holistic practitioners and consumers alike
