Prayer for Hills & Valleys

This is the kickoff of our new series, Hills and Valleys.

Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” 1 Kings 20:28

God is the God of the hills and the valleys. Whether you are on the hill, mountain, or valley, God is still God. He is still sitting on the throne, ruling overall. He is still in control, He is still with you because He promises to never leave you nor forsake you. No matter what season you are in, you are not alone.

Get ready to jump into learning more about hills and valleys, their significance, and biblical examples so that you can navigate through various seasons God’s way.

Psalm 100 is a psalm that invites us to enter joyfully, cheerfully, happily, with a full heart into the presence of God.

God Will Give You Rest: 2 Chronicles 20:27-30

This is the fourth and final episode of a 4 part series on 2 Chronicles 20.

Maybe someone you loved has passed recently. Maybe you are still struggling with getting over the loss of a loved one, friend or family member or colleague. They may have passed years ago and it still grieves your spirit. Maybe there are triggers that drive you into a deep place of darkness and isolation. Maybe you don’t have peace with the loss of a loved one. Uneasiness not knowing if they made it to heaven or hell. Questioning God asking why this happened or why did He allow it to happen.

Or it can even be someone who you have never met a day in your life. Someone you admire. Someone you look up to. An artist, public figure, sports player.

Maybe you are grieving the state that our world is in with the Corona-virus and the number of people that have lost their lives or jobs from it.

Or may your loss or grief is unrelated to death because not all grief is caused by death. 

In the first episode of this series, Chatoya talks about loss, which happens before grief, and examples of loss that are unrelated to death. 

Get ready to take notes and be prepared for an eye-opening exercise at the end of the episode. 

Imagine God telling you to do something that makes absolutely no sense. Imagine God telling you to do something when from your own natural eye it seems impossible. This is when you trust God and do what He says even when it doesn't make sense. Trust Him even when it doesn't make sense. 

God told me that He would supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus and He did just that. I had faith, believed, trusted, acted, obeyed, persevered, and stood on His promise of Philippians 4:19 and He showed up in a miraculous way.

God is a miracle worker, but have you experienced Him as your miracle worker? Are you in need of a miracle?

If you are in a situation that you can’t handle or fix or deal with on your own, you’re in the perfect state because that alone leaves room for God to do what you can’t, to move some things around that you can’t move around on your own strength, power, or might, but simply by the Holy Spirit

Remember that if God did it before He will do it again.

Waymaker: Sometimes we forget who God actually is in the midst of our circumstances. We spend so much time trying to figure out why me, why do I have to go through this, why can’t I catch a break, why doesn’t my life look like everybody else's, I’ve been praying, but God you haven’t answered my prayers yet.

This is when we have to not only remind ourselves that God is a way maker, but we have to believe and act as if He is a way maker. 

Application/What You Must Do:

1. Trust Him

2. Pray for Guidance

3. Have Steadfast Faith

4. Believe

5. Reflect on the ways He’s made in the past

Remember that Philippians 4:19 says that God shall supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Your situation may look impossible, but I want you to know that God will supply each and every one of your needs, in His timing.

7. Know that He will fulfill His promise and supply
