Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has ordered the firing of Port-au-Prince's chief prosecutor, Bed-Ford Claude, who was investigating the assassination of the late President Jovenel Moise. Thirteen US service members and at least 90 Afghans were killed in a pair of bombing attacks outside the airport in Kabul where thousands of people had gathered in recent days to escape Taliban rule. ISIS-K, claimed that an ISIS militant carried out the suicide attack.  The US is pressing forward with evacuations, including the roughly 1,000 Americans still in Afghanistan. The Supreme Court has blocked the Biden administration’s eviction moratorium. Investors await Fed Chair Powell’s speech.

Researching Covid Diagnostics and the effects of Long-Covid
Dr. Ioannis Prassas talks about his research on Covid diagnostics and the effects of Long Covid.  He is a scientist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.  Trained as a molecular biologist, his research focuses mostly on the application of proteomic technologies for diagnostics and he is translating research findings into clinical products with great therapeutic promise.
