A terrific chat with Ed Kaczynski! If you have aspirations of working in sports sales you need to give this episode a listen. We had wide ranging conversation that covered a variety of topics, including how to navigate a sales call, professional development, and how students can position themselves to find meaningful opportunities in a pandemic, and eventually post-pandemic, sports business industry world. At the time of recording this episode Ed was coming off a successful consulting gig with Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and we talked at length about his experience with that organization. Although the main focus of our conversation was prospecting and the nuts and bolts of a successful sales call, our 45min+ conversation touched upon so many aspects of the sales process. What made this conversation even that much more enjoyable was getting to know Luke as a person. Luke is an impressive individual. A young, relationship oriented entrepreneur who is extremely passionate about helping his clients meet their recruiting objectives, Luke selflessly answered my call to help the next generation of Lindenwood sports industry stars because he wanted to be involved in helping students to get more out of their education. I had the honor and pleasure of kicking off this podcast initiative with Lindenwood University alum, Tim Schmidt, Ticket Operations Coordinator with the Boston Celtics. Tim and I had a great conversation about his background and path in the sports industry since graduation, the nuts and bolts of ticket operations, and how he and the Celtics have navigated through Covid-19 and what the future ahead might look like. We concluded with some advice for current students who will be entering the work force in the near future.
