Blacks Need To Get Over Slavery

Blacks Need To Get Over Slavery

I want to clarify that his video was a brief one-minute and thirty-two-second clip. It's not my intention to pass judgment on this preacher. However, it's important to address the issue of downplaying the suffering of a particular group of people and suggesting that slave masters generally introduced the gospel to their slaves, which, in most cases, is far from accurate. I encourage you to share your thoughts in the comment section below. Do you believe that slavery was a blessing for Africans or not?

specifically for you. Welcome, my friend - you've definitely come to the right place!

How an NBA Star Remained Faithful No Matter What

How an NBA Star Remained Faithful No Matter What

A.C. Green had an exceptional career, winning three championships, earning a spot on the All-Star team once, and being selected for the defensive team. He displayed an incredible commitment to the game, playing in 1,192 consecutive games. However, what made his journey even more impressive was his unwavering commitment to his faith in Christ and his ability to resist sexual temptations. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind, and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

Shaq NBA players are Buttercups

Shaq NBA players are Buttercups

Shaq said he wished he was playing in this buttercup league.  No lie Shaq would be unstoppable if he was playing right we all know that.  My question is why can the older generation disrespect players today? When current players or anyone else has a slight critique towards the past generations it's considered disrespectful. You all let me know in the comments whether Shaq is right or wrong.

NBA Players Have Too Much Control and That's Ruining the Game

Do you agree with Brandon Jennings's comments?  I"t's only a couple guys in the NBA that love the game!!!

"If I'm a fan of the game of basketball why would I go pay to watch players that can Decide whenever they want to play"

"For one whoever made this a players league was the stupidest thing ever for the game of basketball"

"Naw I feel like it was CP3, Bron and them... speaking on Players this and that And my thing is get the money I understand that"

"NBA gotta change it's rules"

"You have to put something in everybody's contracts to where you have to average this or play so many games, have to do this to get that money. They just did it to Zion".

Who Did Blacks Pray To? "Before slavery"

In this episode Gusto will provide clear evidence that not all africans were exposed to Christianity through the transatlantic slave trade. I'm not saying that the claim that slaves got ripped from their religious practices is false. However the claim that all got introduced to Christianity through slavery is false.

Misstytus2

Misstytus2

Miss Tytus2 is an up-and-coming black urban apologist. Born and raised in the south, she grew up in a nondenominational church where she sang on the praise team, helped teach Sunday school classes, and helped serve the children's ministry.

Miss Tytus2 got saved at the young age of 7 and attributes her love for the gospel to taking on the challenge at 12 years old to read through the whole Bible in a year.

Life was never the same after that year and she quickly realized her heart for evangelism. Due to the sudden onslaught of pseudo-scholarship hitting the internet regarding the black church and Christianity and the mass exodus of young people leaving the faith due to this misinformation, Miss Tytus2 has taken yet another challenge to combat internet myths with gospel truth. She has a YouTube channel where she tackles issues such as biblical slavery, black atheism, and much much more.

Cycle of Idols

Cycle of Idols

In the western culture of Christianity when we think about idols. What comes to mind most of the time it's wood, clay, stone, or even a budda doll the list can go on. Instead of focusing on the idols, let us focus on the idols of our hearts. Who better to talk to about that than Jason “Smiley” Abrams. Jason "Smiley" Abrams has been actively involved in ministry since 2002 initially discipled by his late father, Andy Abrams. God changed his name to Smiley.  As a child, Jason was very self-righteous and judgmental. Although he grew up in the church, he really did not know Jesus. However, it was God's grace that allowed him to witness the suffering of his father who was diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, failed kidneys, and blindness. As Jason watched his father endure pain daily, he saw him choose unconditional peace from intimacy with Jesus. During that time, Jason decided to pursue this Jesus who could give away true peace! As Jason encounters the one true God, he found internal joy that he began expressing outwardly by wearing all yellow attire and smiley faces every day from middle school until the end of college. Eventually, everyone began calling him Smiley. "God calls me Smiley, so you can too." Smiley currently serves as an Associate Area Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship primarily focused in the Jackson, MS metro area on 4 campuses (JSU, MC, Millsaps, & Belhaven) as well as the National Evangelism Champion for Black Campus Ministries. He also serves on the pastoral team at Common Ground Church and is licensed with the Covenant Evangelical Church. He is a dynamic public speaker, has planned and implemented multiple conferences across the nation, inductive bible study trainer, and has been preaching since 2004. Smiley has received a Bachelor's of Arts in Speech Communication with minors in Graphic Design and French from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also obtained a Certification in Nonprofit Management, and a Certification in Theological Studies. Smiley completed a Master's of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.   He has written over 300 spoken word poems and released his first spoken word album - 3:13 AM (now available on iTunes). Smiley has served on the Performing Acts Team for IV's national student conference Urbana - performing on stage for over 16,000 people. He is a graphic designer, voice actor, visual artist, and music producer. He has been a voice actor for multiple web tv-series and served as the Special Effects Supervisor for his brother's animated/puppetry feature film - Josh's Journal.  Smiley probably loves Star Trek (TNG and Voyager) just as much as he loves Star Wars. He loves DC tv shows as much as he loves Marvel movies. He often tinkers with hardware in his free time. He is a lifetime learner. His favorite color is yellow.

Abusive Grace

Abusive Grace

When you think about grace what comes to mind? Why do we need grace anyway? Don’t my works matter much more? Or you hear some say the GOD of the Bible is unjust because he gives grace rather than punishment so he can’t be a GOD of justice because he’s unfair. If you have any questions concerning these topics my friends you are in for a huge treat this episode.

Gusto sits down with Gavin Hughes to talk trough these topics. Gavin Hughes, he is a native of Jackson, Ms where he is a minister of music at Abundant grace M.B. Church under Pastor Danny Jackson. Gavin is a senior Vocal Music Education major at Jackson State University where he serves as the head drum major of the Sonic Boom of the South, President of the vocal jazz ensemble, as well as several other leadership roles throughout the music department. Gavin has achieved many other accomplishments but today the most important thing he wants you to know is that his life is only a result of God’s strength being made perfect in his weakness.

Can I be Black and Christian

Can I be Black and Christian

With Black History Month coming to a close. It’s seems that if you are a black Christian you are an oxymoron that there is no way you can be both because that’s a white mans religion so therefore you are against your own people is this true? These are serious questions for example the Bible was used to kidnap, murder and destroy a entire people group how can I read something like that. With that being said on this episode we sit down with Jamal Morris to discuss these serious issues.

Jamal Morris is a product of Chattanooga, Tenn., born to the late George Morris and Linda Avila. After a decorated athletic career at Cleveland High School, Morris went on to attend Lee University and graduate with a degree in Youth Ministry.

Jamal Morris started Urban Initiative after sevral years of student ministry in urban Chattanooga. He has also served college students at the University of Chattanooga with a nationally known organization called, “Intervarsity Christian Fellowship” and done various consulting work for over a decade.

The only thing greater than his passion for ministry is his commitment to his family. When he’s not sharing with the next generation of Chattanooga’s leaders, he’s spending time with his wife April and his twin daughters, Kristine and Kayla.

Bible Contradictions

Bible Contradictions

Skeptics love to bring up that the Bible has so many contradictions too many to even read. Heres a quote from atheists.org "It is a central dogma of all fundamental Christians that the Bible is without error. They teach this conclusion by “reasoning” that god cannot be the author of false meaning and he cannot lie. Is this true? If written by a perfect being, then it must not contradict itself, as a collection of books written by different men at different times over many centuries would be expected to contradict each other". In this episode, Gusto will address some suppose contradictions in the Bible.
