Faith over Fear

Our culture is well aware of what it means to be an influencer? But do each of us realize that we are all influencers? For good or for bad; positive or negative; we have an impact on the lives of others. We have been called to influence as salt and light. What do each of these mean for our lives? How do we go about it? Let’s dig into Matthew 5:13-16 to find out!

Luke 2:52 reveals four ways that Jesus grew. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Each of these things will lead us to a well balanced life in Christ. Without balance, we will inevitably trip, stumble, and fall! We must realize the importance of living an intentionally balanced life that is centered on Christ!

Aren’t we glad that God gives us the gift of choice? Right or wrong, good or bad, we have that liberty! Don’t we want to make Godly decisions that strengthen our relationship with Him? Decisions that give Him Glory and praise? Our choices can lead us to victory or destruction. We can’t always choose our situation or circumstances, but we can choose how we respond. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “...I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life…”

We serve an intentional God, and He intended for us to be intentional with our lives as well. The intentional life is a life lived with discipline and purpose, pointing to our creator. When we live intentionally for Him, it impacts our lives and those in the world around us as well. The best part - God gets all the glory!

Luke 9:23 paints us a clear picture of what it means to follow Jesus. What separates the fans and followers? Is there a list of things I can do to be a follower? We’re not called to try daily, but to die daily! Salvation is free! The price has been paid. The call might be tough, but the reward is matchless.

In John chapter 2, we are told about a wedding. A wedding that had a big problem, and a wedding that is a picture of our lives today. Through our problems, Jesus can bring out the very best in our lives, just as he did at the wedding in Cana.

What’s the best news you’ve ever heard? Do you remember where you were when you heard it? Well, the followers of Jesus heard some pretty spectacular news in John chapter 20. Just like any news we hear, we like to have evidence that it is true. What does the news mean for them? What does it mean for us today? Listen along and hear about the news that literally changes everything.

We don’t always face the happiest of circumstances in this life. Is it a requirement that we must be happy all of the time? What is the main priority in our lives? Do we give more thought to Godly priorities or self centered ones? Haggai’s message to the returning exiles from Babylon still rings true to us today. Are we putting first things first?

What does it mean to be confident? Where does confidence come from? 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 gives us the answers we need to be Faithfully Confident in the Lord.

Success means different things to different people. How does God define success? How do we achieve the successful Christian life? Give a listen to find out the secret to success.

What does it mean to be rooted in Christ? Ephesians 3:17 - “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Let’s dig deeper into God’s word and find out!

Each one of us has stung God with our sin, but he remembers it no more, showing us great love, mercy, and grace!

We put a lot of time into physical fitness, but what about spiritual fitness? Are we running the race that God has marked out for us? Come along, as we focus on Hebrews 12: 1-3.

The storms of life can hit unexpectedly, just as a literal storm hit the disciples unexpectedly. Through their journey, we can learn from Jesus’s reaction, as well as the disciples reaction. Through all of it, we see that God is truly greater than our storms!

How do find contentment in a discontent world? Paul tells us he has learned the secret, whatever the circumstances might be.

It’s often that I find myself wanting to grumble about daily struggles, how about you? But 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says to - “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Notice that it doesn’t say we need to give thanks FOR all circumstances. Things aren’t always going to work out the way we think they should. Trials and tribulations will come. But we have to remain thankful IN all circumstances. We all have a LOT to be thankful for, including Jesus life being laid down for us!!! I challenge you (and myself) today, in every situation, even if things aren’t going as you planned, to find reasons to still remain thankful and positive!!
