Three episodes in a week?!?! What in the world is going on?!?! Ok, don’t get used to this. Like I said in the last two, it’s been a crazy busy year, but I still wanted to get these out before the Portal to Ascension conference this weekend. Speaking of which, if you’re in or around San Diego, you should join us there! It’s going to be an awesome time with a bit of something for everyone.
This episode was also supposed to air a couple of months ago with the Portal to Ascension run-up series, but at least we got it out before the conference, right? Just like when I recorded with Joan, Sheila and I recorded right as I was in the beginning stages of my second round of Covid, so I hope my voice isn’t too off. Our conversation was one of the more unexpected ones for me, especially as this was not long after I was introduced to the term “Walk-in” and I still don’t know what to make of the term. Sheila, however, seemed genuine and mostly open, so I hope you enjoy hearing her story and that you take it in with an open mind.

This episode was supposed to air a couple of months ago now, but my year has been crazy. The busy streak at my day job came to an end last week as our 4/20 orders have all been filled and we’re now just playing stock-up for a while. I still expect to have some long weeks, but maybe I’ll get back to a 4-day week somehow and start recording more regularly again. I do know that I’ll have some time off next week, starting when I join this week’s guest, Alan Steinfeld, at the Portal to Ascension Conference in San Diego. I’m really looking forward to the conference and the break from the day job. My girl and I will be taking our first vacation together and I’m looking forward to having a few days without work occupying so much of my thought space.
Ok, I know I’d stopped rambling as much at the beginning of these, and while I’m going to keep that as the standard practice, I’m going to be a bit more relaxed with it as there seem to be interesting things happening lately that I’d like to share with you. The first of those interesting things has been getting to meet up with a longtime gaming friend of mine, Justin. We’ve known each other for nearly 5 years now, having met playing some online gaming together. That said, despite phone calls, texts and even some video chats, this weekend was the first time that we actually got to hang out and share a couple of beers together. It was obvious from the first drink why we’re friends and we got to share a few days of friendship in real life for a change. Hell, he even showed me up and took first place at my last poker night at this house! I just wanted to give him a shout out and let him know how grateful I am for our friendship. It’s awesome to have good people in my life, even from afar.
Alright, alright, enough of that sap. But speaking of that being the last game at this house, it looks like I’ll be renting it out here in the next month or so. Moving in with my girl allows this house to start earning passive income for us and to take off that expense while we look for land. The A.R.C. is still the goal, but it appears to be changing shape, at least to start. The Rad-Rich River Retreat will be how we start the community process I’ve been envisioning with the A.R.C. We’ll be hosting yoga, meditation, and wellness retreats, building community through living by example and helping people with whole-being wellness; mind, body and spirit. I hope to see some of you there as we get opened.

It’s been a rough couple of months with the universe seemingly challenging me along every path. My work with Tasty’s edibles is still going well, but it’s busy and chaotic. My personal life is going well, but is also a big adjustment in a short time. Then just last week we got over 8 inches of snow and I was involved in a minor accident when my rear-wheel drive Mustang locked up on me around a curve. I was able to mostly control it into the ditch, but even minor damage ended up costing me $2000, right after I got done spending $1000+ on my new laptop. The broken laptop, which is a whole nother story in and of itself, is why you haven’t heard from me for a few weeks at this point. Even after I got my replacement, it’s been hard to get back into the swing of things. That said, the land for the A.R.C. is looking closer than ever and priorities are getting set straight as I finish paying for whatever karma I had incurred in this lifetime. I appreciate you all bearing with me though and it’s good to be back with all of you.
Let’s get to today’s episode though. I don’t know that I’ve ever interviewed anyone quite like Geraldine Orozco. I know that I’m not necessarily a hard questions kind of guy, though I do try to confront things I know are patently false. And while parts of her life story may seem hard to believe, I never once doubted her genuineness in relating the story. I’m also inclined to give reasonable doubt when describing someone’s own experiences, as my own psychedelic experiences have taught me that a lot of life is illusory. As for Geraldine, I was completely fascinated by her and the interview as it transpired; I’m very grateful that we crossed paths. In our discussion, we’ll touch on a wide-range of topics including holographic universe theory, genetic memory, DNA reprogramming and her experience as a contactee, among other fascinating side-topics. I think you’re going to enjoy it.

The first time I tried to record this episode, way back in January, Neil Gaur and I recorded an amazingly fun exchange only to have the audio lost to a failed SD card. That failed recording turned out to be the last time I recorded an episode of Awakened Exchanges for over 8 months. Neil and I stayed in contact and when he wanted to start promoting the upcoming Portal to Ascension Conference in San Diego, I knew it was time to get the exchange up and running again. Since we were planning a long series, I wanted to get a few recorded before we got running, which led to some of our last episodes getting released earlier, giving Nick Hinton and I some divine timing for recording a special 50th episode, which slid ever so nicely to sharing this holiday gift with all of you! I think you’ll find Neil fascinating and I can’t stress enough how pleasantly surprised I was with each and every single one of the interviews with his guest speakers. That said, I hope you’re as excited to be here for this incredible episode as I was to record it! Today we welcome back one of my favorite guests, the Conspiracy Guru himself, Nick Hinton! Nick first joined us back in December of 2020 on a holiday episode and we finally got our timing aligned again, just in time to record a special 50th Episode! We talk about the literal journey that he’s taken back and forth across America, as well as his metaphorical journeys into conspiracy theories, including a look into his newest books and a couple of off-the-wall new conspiracy theories I’d never even heard of. It’s a fun ride and I think you’ll all enjoy it!
One quick thing, there are a lot of overlapping holidays right now, as well as a huge portion of people that don’t believe in them at all. No matter your preferences or beliefs, I want to truly wish you a time of peace and goodwill towards all. If we all focused on that even ½ as much as whatever political turmoil or civil unrest we individually choose to obsess over, then maybe the world would start looking a little less like we’re headed towards a dystopia and more like that vision Gene Roddenberry had in Star Trek. Nick even talks a little about how he might’ve been influenced by the “Counsel of 9” channelings by Phyllis Schlemmer. Either way, moving towards a society that is more about cooperation and understanding seems like the way to go to me. I’ll continue to wish that dharma for all of you out there.

This week’s episode has been a few months in the making, but I’m glad it finally came together. Kirsten first came on the exchange last year, talking about her role in Nick Hinton’s second book, The Aquarian Singularity. Since we last spoke, she’s been on a very healing DMT journey and she’s been inspired to share that experience with others, including all of you listeners out there. Also with us today is the coach that’s helped Kirsten along her journey Eve. Eve is joining us today, audio only, all the way from Brazil to help me learn about this amazing chemical and its healing properties. And in the spirit of being open with all of you, this is going to be the first of at least two parts on this particular subject, this episode acting as a kind of “before” episode before I begin my own DMT journey. I know I’ve talked a little about my microdosing experimentation, but this is the first guided journey I’ll be taking, so I thought it might be cool to share updates with all of you as I go. In addition to the updates, I’ll also be doing at least one “after” episode with Kirsten again, and possibly Eve as well, to discuss all of the personal changes that happen to me on this journey. I’m a bit nervous, but I think it’ll be a great experience.
And though we’re still a few days aways as I record this, I’m pretty sure this is going to drop on Halloween, so Happy Halloween to all of you! I hope you all have a wonderful All Hallows’ Eve with more treats than tricks!
The last little thing before we get to the show I just had to mention magic mind again. I couldn’t keep the secret to myself, this magic elixir helps me power through my procrastination and get these episodes written and recorded on time. I packed myself a fairly busy schedule the next few weeks, but I hope that means regular episodes for the foreseeable future. All of that with the incredible assistance of Magic Mind! Consistently creating new content isn’t easy and it requires a lot of focus and energy. I still use our own Energize pens, but even then it can be hard to get the motivation to get writing. When I’d go the energy drink route, I felt amped up and ready to bounce off the walls, but that didn’t help me with my productivity problem. Well, I was going to get this out to you guys on Christmas day, but…things happened. I’m fairly surprised I’m getting this out before the new year, but I miss the podcast family and wanted you all to know that things are moving forward. I’m looking at selling my house this coming spring and finding some property to start the Hemp and Medical grow. Here’s hoping that 2022 is a better year for us all and that we turn the covid-corner.
What’s going on around here lately? Not a whole lot really. It’s just more of the same around here, looking for a job until I can get growing again and trying to stay afloat. You’d think that’d mean I have a fair amount of time to make more podcasts, and while you may technically be right with the “time” aspect, the stress of the unknown has taken its toll on my motivation. I spend so much time trying to make it through to the next month, that I don’t focus on any of my creative endeavors. I definitely miss the creative side of me and that was part of why I started these podcasts. That said, creating scripted content was never really my goal and guests are harder to get to commit than you’d think. I try to use my other artistic skills, and If you’ve been on my Instagram, then you know I dabble in memes and NFT’s as well. I hope to be expanding on those kinds of things in the coming months, as well as updating Shadow’s instagram, which you can find @ShadowCat420; not only is she one of the most well-traveled cats in the country and she will do tricks for her treats, I’ve also continued her training and am now working on giving her speech via her own custom AAC device. Crazy right? We’re only on day 3 and her brain is working hard. Last night she pressed her first button on purpose and I got so excited. Is it sad that I got that excited?? I don’t know, but I think giving her a way to feel heard is something that every creature could benefit from. Not to mention a testament to how intelligent our pets truly are.
Anyway, what else do I have to share with you today? Well, I’m going to talk a bit about the Matrix: Resurrections movie, giving as few spoilers as I can, but also resetting some expectations, as I think it’s useful to go into it with knowledge of what you’re getting yourself into. I’ll also speculate on how it and the Matrix Awakens demo may fit into the Matrix NFT project that is ongoing at Niftys.com. I really think it should be an interesting one for you, even if it’s short-ish!

I’ve always tried to be vulnerable and open on this podcast, and I’ve spent the last couple of months working on trying to bring more order into my life as a whole. That meant getting Awakened Vapes squared away again, as well as trying to extricate myself from a past business venture before another year got away from me. This week’s episode is going to be a shorter one, in part because we’re back in the middle of another heatwave, but also because I haven’t had much luck getting guests to commit to a schedule. I know that it’s summer and people are busy doing things, so I try to keep that in mind. Everyone has been cooped up for more than a year and they’re trying to have a life, but I worry a bit, especially now as Covid cases are predictably surging and we’re ramping up for another round of hospitalizations and deaths this fall winter. I hope that we don’t end up having to deal with the lockdowns and restrictions of 2020 for 2022, but I’m not sure what the other options are going to be. Maybe people will start to really listen to Bret Weinstein and the doctor’s he’s been having on his shows to talk about Ivermectin and Covid prevention. It took more than a year for people to take him seriously about the potential of a lab leak, but now that looks like the more likely scenario. Kinda crazy to think about when saying that would have gotten you kicked off most platforms just a few months ago. Don’t worry about me going to in-depth about that though; I’m going to spend most of this episode talking about the future of this podcast and Awakened Vapes, the reason I started this show in the first place. This week’s episode has been a couple of months in the making. I first contacted Kirsten Sandefur after reading Nick Hinton’s second book, The Aquarian Singularity, in my preparation for a second interview with him that we could never get the timing pinned down on. I definitely recommend Nick’s books overall, and Kirsten’s story was definitely one of the highlights. She was one of the cofounders of the original Reddit Dimension Jumping group. I’ll let her tell more of her story and I have the feeling you’ll be as fascinated as I was. Dimension jumping is something that I can absolutely NOT prove exists, but it fits well into my personal psychedelic experiences and thoughts on the multiverse nature of the universe. If you’re a believer in the multiverse hypothesis, then the idea of infinite closely related dimensions that you could potentially slide into won’t be earth-shattering by any means, but I just want to say that I can’t provide you any direct evidence for it. Kirsten is earnest and comes off as credible and thoughtful. I don’t believe everybody’s stories, but while her experience is quite unique and requires some suspension of disbelief, it’s most definitely interesting and entertaining. I truly hope you enjoy this exchange as much as I did, as I hope to have her back on the show soon, as well as some others from her realm of contacts. For this week’s intro rant, I’m going to talk about the UFO/UAP Disclosure going on, the report is officially scheduled to drop on the 24th or 25th of this month. That said, a lot of their conclusions have already been leaked and, surprise, surprise, it’s a big fat goose egg. No, not the craft they’re seeing, just what they’re going to tell us. They’re saying that there’s nothing to suggest that it’s aliens, but there’s nothing to suggest it’s not either. The UAP equivalent of, “we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of aliens.” So let’s think about the other options: Is it China? Or Russia? Wouldn’t either of those options be even worse? The fact that either of those countries possess a technology that we can’t duplicate or explain would mean Game Over if these cold wars turned hot. Personally, I think they’re both working more on hacking warfare and psyops, but I suppose it’s at least possible that they have Tic-Tac-Tech. What other options are there? Swamp gas and weather balloons? Holograms? Our own classified drones? Maybe they’re trying to distract us? But if they’re trying to distract us, it’s not working very well. It seems like 90% of America is just shrugging their shoulders like this isn’t one of the biggest stories to ever come out. The media is talking about it, but then just changing the subject back to political in-fighting because that gets better ratings. Would people be more interested if they had some history behind these sightings?
Well, that actually segues nicely into this week’s interview with Josh Perkins, one of my former co-workers from Rose City Labs, who’s UFO enthusiasm is contagious! He came on to talk about Disclosure and to also share some of his UFO History research. I’ve noticed that I have less and less random political crap playing over and over, taking up space in my head each week since Big Orange has been out of office, but that doesn’t mean it has stopped by any means. This week I did want to mention something that we’ve been talking about on the podcast since the very beginning basically, and that’s Covid. I can’t remember which episode intro we mentioned it on, but I’ve been a proponent of Bret Weinstein and his assertion that we need to at least look into the Lab Leak Hypothesis since at least the middle of last year. It’s been a very interesting couple of weeks as the media has started to actually take notice and look into this subject. I’ve never said that it was an intentional leak, and that’s not the point. We just need to accurately know how and why this started so that we can put processes in place to prevent or at least identify potential disasters like this faster in the future. We’ve had over 590,000 deaths so far in the U.S. alone, and over 3.5 million total worldwide. That’s a lot of people to lose no matter what, despite whatever comorbidity factors may have existed, all because of an accident within a lab. I’m not saying that that’s for sure what happened, but there is definitely a preponderance of evidence stacking up in that direction and if we’d been actually been looking into it seriously for the last year instead of dismissing it as “conspiracy theory,” then maybe we’d be a lot closer to an answer. Now we just sit back and wait, hoping that it doesn’t mutate into a more virulent or deadly strain.
Enough on that rant for today though, I’m sure you’re only vaguely interested in my opinion, if that. I do want to give this week’s guest, Keith Berry, a bit more of an introduction though. Keith got his nickname, the “KO Kid,” very early in his career, scoring three knockouts in under a minute in just his first 6 fights. He continued his bruiser ways throughout his King of the Cage and Bellator career, scoring 17 wins, 12 by way of knockout and 3 more by submission. After Covid slowed down the fight scene, he took some time to follow another passion, the cannabis community. Then, as he had some more free time, he began to explore the world of cryptocurrency. He’s had a fascinating life thus far and I want to thank him for coming onto the exchange and sharing a great conversation with me. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

After spending a few weeks here in Austin, I think I’m definitely honing in on the future home of Awakened Exchanges and the ARC community. I’m not going to spend a lot of time in the intro this week, but I do want to talk a little about the continuing Covid pandemic. I really hope that people are still taking things seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I can completely understand the hesitancy to trust a vaccine process that we reduced the completion time on by up to 90%, but I do think it’s still a necessary step in order to contain variants and any potentially more serious spread down the line. I also hope that people remember the lessons from a century ago. If we consider 2020 the beginning, like 1918 for the flu pandemic, then it would be the fall and winter of 2021 could see a similar mutation and spread of this virus. That pandemic is actually thought to have started in 1917 in the trenches of WWI, and then mutated into a slightly deadlier spring 1918 flu, with the massive deaths coming in late 1918 and 1919. There were at least FOUR waves. If 2020 was only 1917 in this scenario, we could be in store for massive mutations and a much higher death rate. If a variant escapes that finds its way around the vaccines, then we’re all back at square one. That said, I think we need to remember to follow the science, which says that if you’re outdoors and vaccinated, it’s ok not to be masked up. It seems like the sun still kills the virus quickly and good air circulation keeps it from spreading. It doesn’t seem to live on surfaces, at least not with the current variants, so you can keep that in mind too. And let’s not ignore the importance of our own immune systems. Staying active and keeping ourselves healthy is key so that our immune systems can actually respond and fight off infections.
Let’s get into a much more pleasant topic, this week’s interview with the Traveling Nobody. John Folak started his career as a Cargo Pilot, but has transitioned into being a full-time author and public speaker. He’s written a book on the Hero’s Journey within all of us, as well as a four-book series on Psychedelics and journeying within. I’m going to do my best to keep the intro brief again, but I did have to share a little bit of personal information this week, as I’m not sure how or if it’s going to affect the upcoming schedule. I think that I’ll still have the time and energy to put out a show next week, but as this episode goes live, I’ll have just had to put down my dog Dakota. She didn’t quite make it to her 15th birthday, but she’s had and shared a lot of love in her life. She’s not eating anymore and they say there’s nothing left they can do to ease her pain. I’ll continue to cherish the good memories and hope that her passing brings her energy to wherever that next step takes all of us. I appreciate your understanding; it has been a hard few days as she was a part of my family.

This episode was fueled by an Awakened Vapes Energize break in-between recordings. We had already been recording for a couple of hours, we lost Chris to the slow fade of an alcohol buzz, but Shawn and I were still going strong, so we recorded for another couple of hours, wrapping up near 2am that night. I’m recording this intro on Monday as I try to get this episode uploaded in time for tomorrow. As suspected, the amount of material I attempted to group together in these two sections was way too much. The TINY font that 5D uses in some of his sections means that once I outline it and cover all of the phrases he uses, it turns into hours and hours of information, and that’s if I just read it to you boringly. I’ve tried to keep things interesting as I read these by myself, give you relevant info as well as some humor and good intentions, but I have to admit that things seemed more entertaining to me with the co-hosts this week. It definitely slowed down actual progress on breaking down the map, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it just as much. I’m including the fully separated and highlighted GAM in our show notes, and this week’s pinned Twitter thread, which, again, is also available on our Telegram channel. On top of seeing how I broke up the entire map, I’ll include a picture showing the two sections that I merged for the Metaphysical sections, so maybe you can make sense of some of my madness. I said this last week, but no matter which version you’re talking about, I don’t believe that the Map was intentionally created to promote hatred and misinformation, but you have to be able to actually look at it with a little Guile. Let’s not focus on deplatforming these ideas, but rather discussing them logically and as deeply as people need to, in order to process the facts and separate them from the possible or fictional. And remember, even Alex Jones has denounced Q-Anon at this point and none of their so-called “predictions,” ever came true. Let’s keep that in mind when we decide how to weigh their conspiracy theories.

Welcome back to Awakened Exchanges! I want to start this week’s episode with a little corrections corner of my own as well. The new clarification on the Farm Bill means we won’t be getting involved with Delta-8 cartridges. The DEA claims that all commercial D8 is synthetic, and since all synthetically produced cannabinoids fall under DEA jurisdiction, all Delta-8 processors and sellers are subject to DEA enforcement. Not to worry though, our CBD-Only line at Awakened Vapes is still going strong. This is going to be a different kind of episode, but I’m very grateful to be here speaking with you today as we take a deep dive on something strange.
This episode is going to be a little different, as it’s just going to be me as I walk through and deconstruct the Great Awakening Map, which has also become known as the QMap, especially as revisions came out from the ever more diehard creator, known as 5D Consciousness on many platforms. His website that had free Hi-Res downloads of the Map has been taken down, but you can still find a copy here in our show notes and on my website, www.AwakenedExchanges.com. If you go search the online archives, you’ll find a number of images out there as the Map was revised and updated a number of times since it was first released. If you go to my website, I've uploaded the Hi-Res version I'm referencing. No matter which version you’re talking about, I don’t believe that the Map was intentionally created to promote hatred and misinformation, but it was certainly used to spread both of those things. As the inauguration has passed and the last of the “Trust the Plan” people have begun to realize that there was no Q-Anon plan, you’ve seen a lot of people get quiet or get deplatformed. Personally, I don’t think that anyone should be deplatformed, but I don’t know what the process should be when no one seems to take the fact checks seriously when they’re done on any platform. I like conspiracy theories, but I don’t think most of them hold much water. That said, I believe that people should be able to do at least cursory research on their own and that we are all responsible for not carelessly spreading false information. The creator of the Map, 5D, has said in interviews that his intention was to help people, and I’m paraphrasing here, “research down the path that led him to his current state of enlightenment.” I think that it’s time we take a look at this Great Awakening Map and do a deep dive into the world of Conspiracy Theory and differentiate it from Conspiracy Reality and just plain Creative Fiction. And before we get into the deep dive, I just want to point out that even Alex Jones has denounced Q-Anon at this point. None of their so-called “predictions,” ever came true, and no proof of their conspiracy theories has ever been produced.

I’m thankful to see that Covid seems to be trending in the right direction this time, and I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that we can get businesses opened up again before it’s too late. I’m not going to get much into politics this week. Personally I’m just happy that things seem to be getting quieter on that front again. Maybe the Capitol Riot was actually a wake-up call that made people realize what we don’t want in this country. Here’s to finding a way that we can come together, hopefully behind a unified Unity 2024, now that we have time to do the concept justice. As for other things this week, I have to at least mention my fascination with Redditors breaking the financial markets. They’ve taken Gamestop, and Dogecoin skyrocketing, and it’s looking like they’re trying to do the same with AMC and a handful of others as well. I would love to see the internet save Gamestop and AMC, all while making some money for themselves and forcing Wall Street shorters to lose. Seems a little poetic that the little guys are starting to learn that we can make some noise and remind the 1% that we all deserve a little consideration as well. Personally, I totally miss going to theaters, but I don’t know if they’re going to come back in full force. Ready Player One level virtual reality could theoretically be coming for real this decade, and that would bring a personal theater to everyone’s headset. It seems inevitable that streaming is the future, but maybe AMC can have a big bang of a decade until we get there. Maybe with all this backing they can actually find a way to pivot into the new virtual market during that decade too, who knows. As for Dogecoin, I would love to see it hit a dollar this year, but I don’t know how likely that is. Doge has a ton of internet support, and the blockchain is based on the same foundation that underlies Litecoin. I’ll be holding mine and seeing what the future brings. And with regulation changes coming this year, I’m definitely starting to sniff around cannabis stocks again to find which companies might actually gain traction through quality and not quantity.
That actually segues nicely into this week’s interview, Adam Bush, one of the owners of Archive here in Portland. Archive is one of the brands that has made quality over quantity a priority. While their quantity is not lacking either, their focus on good genetics and breeding quality has made them a sought after brand all over the state of Oregon. Archive’s flagship shop here in Portland is now a destination for cannabis enthusiasts from all over. Adam’s enthusiasm is contagious, even when talking about some of the other amazing hash rosin makers in the state. I know that it’s easy to say that all psychics are fake, and I believe that the vast majority you see setting up shop are there to milk sad people of their money, but I don’t think that discounts intuition and instinct. I would love to have someone like Russell Targ on the show to talk about his involvement in the Stanford Research Institutes Remote Viewing projects, which later became the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Project Stargate. I think that there are a lot of possibilities locked within human consciousness. We’ve seen that big events, such as 9/11, actually have an effect on random number generators. We’ve seen that people can influence the odds of a 1 or a 0 appearing on one of those random number generators by concentrating on one of the numbers. Measurable effects. But how would you prove something like Remote Viewing? We would of course want 100% accuracy and reproducibility, but we’re not close to getting that. On a metaphysical level, if you look at the Torus Model of the universe, which you can currently see as my pinned thread on Twitter, as of January 23rd, maybe we can discuss how it could be possible though.
- Let’s first assume that you hold the mathematical and scientific notion that all time is happening now, past, present, and future, the way some physicists are theorizing.
- Next let's also assume that Einstein was right and E = MC^2. That means that energy, such as the stuff that is flowing while the neurons are firing in our brains that is likely responsible for our consciousness.
- Then you look at the Torus Field, check out that thread and imaging a constantly flowing orb of energy that contains all of the universe. All that was, all that is, and all that will be.
- Then suppose that our vibration is slowed down enough that we are experiencing time as we are here on Earth. What if, through meditation, or in some cases drugs, we could expand our consciousness to tap into that Torus Field, then projecting our consciousness into another point in time or space. Could that not eventually be a scientifically valid way to look at Remote Viewing?
As for this week’s show, I want to thank this week’s guest Shawn Shumway for coming back on the exchange! We had been talking about getting another episode recorded for a couple of weeks, and after a couple of synchronistic moments, we decided that it was time to talk about, you probably guessed it, psychic abilities. There was an intensely weedy 250mg edible involved in my recording of this episode, and while I don’t know if it helped my intuition feel any sharper, it sure felt like I was engaged with the conversation on another level. I want to remind people that I know people who can’t handle 5mg, while I regularly consume 1000mg+, so it’s all about your own body and tolerances. If you’re in a legal state and can indulge, just remember to be safe and always start with low quantities. And despite my THC level, I still had no discernable ESP abilities in this episode.

I’m releasing this episode on the 19th, one day after we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. and one day before we usher Trump out of the White House in exchange for the Biden-Harris Show. I believe that transition day is going to be quieter than the Capitol Riot on the 6th, but the FBI is warning of demonstrations at all 50 state Capitol buildings on Inauguration Day. It’s not a huge jump to think that one of those demonstrations could pop off at a moment's notice, but most people are weary. There were some planned demonstrations this weekend that ended up with zero attendance. After seeing what happened on the 6th at the Capitol, people mostly seem to want to move forward. That said, I don’t think that it’s going to be an easy transition by any means. Nobody is thrilled about Biden and Harris except Biden and Harris’ teams, and that may even be an overstatement in some cases. The democrats do have all three branches of the government for the next two years and there’s a lot of stuff that they would like to accomplish with that. Will any of it look like change for the good to the masses? I don’t know, but I certainly hope that they get their shit together for 2021 and figure out Covid before a mutation gets out of control and we blow the whole thing. I don’t know how I feel about a vaccine for myself, but I know that it’s just necessary at this point. My girlfriend is a healthcare worker, so she’s already had the first round. I just hope that it’s not all for not, or that it ends up being a yearly shot for the foreseeable future. Hell, it could be twice yearly, as UK studies are suggesting about 6 month immunity after getting Covid itself. So, let’s get back to more MLK and less Inauguration Day. Let’s do what we can to forget these divisions and work towards the benefit of all. MLK had a dream, but that dream didn’t end with racial equality, it just started there. He wanted to eradicate poverty and hunger, first in our country, and then all over the world. We have the means, if only we could exert the will. Let’s all be that change.

I wanted to at least give a little attention to what happened at the Capitol building in D.C. last week. Wednesday January 6th was the day that congress was set to certify the Electoral College results. Personally, I thought that was going to be plenty of drama for the day, as there were still republicans trying to push the “Stop the Steal” rhetoric and planning on opposing the results, despite months of court cases showing zero evidence, even in Red states. Sadly, the Q-Anon faction is truly sucked into these conspiratorial beliefs that are threatening to lead us to a very different kind of civil war. Despite police insistence that they’d “heard nothing,” related to storming the capitol, social media posts, as well as messages on Pro-Trump message boards contain explicit planning for just such a breach. On December 23rd, Trump tweeted - “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” This is far from the first time that Trump has incited protests during his presidency. Telling the Proud Boys to “Stand By,” during the elections played right into this narrative as well. It’s like Trump was saying “Are you waiting to do something? Here’s your chance!” I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being looked at as an enemy to the right, just because I think all people should be cared about. I’m not trying to turn this into a communist country. I don’t want Gulags in America; we’re already incarcerating too many people. I don’t know that there is a single way to get through to people that would work for everyone. That said, is it too much to ask that people think things through? Is it too hard to truly do unto others as you would truly have them do unto you? Maybe if we were all present in the moment, we could get through this with our civility intact. I truly hope it’s not too late for that.
That’s probably enough politics to start the show this week, but I want to thank this week’s guest Crystal White. I’ve only known Crystal for just a few months now, but her bravery and openness should be a beacon of light for others. Crystal is working on a book about her transition from Dave to Crystal, encompassing battles with addiction and mental health before finding a healthier path through life. We talk a bit about plant medicines and the role that cannabis played in eliminating her skin cancer. I suspect that Crystal will have to join us again for some more in depth discussions on different types of mushrooms and their medicinal properties as well. I hope that you find the conversation as enlightening as I did and that you keep coming back for these exchanges.

As I’d mentioned last week, I’ve had a couple of cancellations and postponements this month, and as New Year’s got closer and closer, I wasn’t really sure that I’d release an episode at all. I didn’t want to do release an episode without an interview twice in a row, simple as that isn’t much of an “exchange.” I was hoping that this week would get us back on our normal recording and release schedule so we didn’t end up going dark for a week, but alas, no such luck. I know that scheduling guests can be tough, but I apologize that I didn’t have a contingency plan setup for this yet. I have dozens of people that all say they want to get on here and talk, but actually getting them to sit down for an interview has been more difficult than anticipated. Now that that’s all been said, I just wanted you all to know that I’ve decided to take a week or so off to reorganize the podcast a bit, hopefully get in an extra recording or two, and then pick it up strong for the New Year! Another person I want to thank is this week’s guest Chris Mumey. I’ve known Chris for nearly a decade now and his passion for cannabis might be second to none. I’ve been a fan of them since I first saw them emerge during my freshman year of college, which if you must know was the 99-00 school year. Basketball was always my sport, but I admit that Fantasy Football can be a lot easier to manage with limited time. This week’s guest will give us a look at the life of a professional Fantasy Sports Analyst. I spent all of last month doing my best to be grateful for everything that presented itself in my life. It seems like that should be an easy thing to do, but it’s even easier to get bogged down in the everyday drudgery, especially as we endure more lockdowns and socially distanced holidays. I’ve been battling to keep the guests I already have scheduled as well as trying to build our audience and expand our reach. Not surprisingly, the holidays haven’t made it any easier to lock in guests, especially as everyone’s schedule gets more and more crowded. I’m continuing to do my best to assure that we don’t go quiet and to keep this podcast keeps building its momentum instead of sliding back, but this is where I need your help. We’ve gotten nothing but positive reviews, but there’s just not as many of them as our downloads would have you believe. My introduction to Nick was because of a Mandela Effect post that happened to catch my eye. I've been interested in the subject since my introduction to the Berenstain vs Berenstein Bears phenomenon. Once I started researching, I found that there were a few things that stuck with me on the anomalous side, whereas a few I remembered “the correct way.” While I’m sure that memory is malleable, I also started seriously considering what bigger implications could be made. I’m a believer in Hugh Everett’s Multiverse Hypothesis, but I like to think of the decision tree as branchial time, where each decision can branch off into multiple lines. If most of those decisions only affect you or a limited number of people, then you can think of those branches eventually being clipped back off into what we’ll call the current consensus reality. My particular thought is, what if the Mandela Effect was actually caused by larger branches of time that were merged on top of one another? Two similar universes, with minor differences in the timeline, dimensionally merged together somehow. This is where I bring up CERN and the fact that the Large Hadron Collider was built in 2008...the year before Fiona Broome launched the Mandela Effect website to ask people if they also remembered Nelson Mandela’s funeral, even though he didn’t die until 2013. There was talk early on about the collider possibly causing miniature black holes, but scientists weren’t concerned as they would burn themselves out before reaching critical mass. That said, in November 2009, Sergio Bertolucci, the Director for Research and Scientific Computing at CERN, said that what they were attempting to do was akin to opening a door and that, I quote, "Out of this door might come something, or we might send something through it." That may have you thinking about Stranger Things and The Upside Down, but what if that door was just to one, or many, very similar realities that share space with us here and now? More in the podcast.
I get the feeling that there are a large number of our audience this week that will be coming here to hear Nick speak. Nick is known as one of the conspiracy theory gurus on Twitter and he first got major attention for his Saturn Time Cube posts. He had compiled a lot of information from various sources and made it a lot more accessible for psychonauts and conspiracy buffs to make it through, eventually publishing his first book on the subject. I get the feeling that we could have gotten going on a number of topics and I hope to have him back on the show someday to do just that. This was one of my favorite conversations yet, and I truly hope that you enjoy this fun little holiday gift to kick off December.

This whole month we were focused on people who care for others, people that can show us how to be grateful all year round. First off, I just want to tease our holiday episodes that I can’t wait for. Just this past weekend I recorded the first of those episodes with Nick Hinton himself. If the name sounds familiar, that’s probably because you know him as “the conspiracy guy on Twitter.” He’s about to publish his second book and we talked about some very provocative theories about Saturn and our perception of the universe. That episode will air next week, on December 3rd, and it was an immensely fun conversation with a very interesting individual. I can’t overstate how excited I am for him and our other December guests! If everything goes as planned, we should have a hive-mind Christmas Eve with a former member of the Borg themselves!
I really wish that we could stop talking about Covid, but we had nearly 200,000 cases on Friday the 20th alone. We racked up a million new cases in 6 days last week. This is all coming as the nation prepares to close up shop and travel to their families for Thanksgiving. This could be the mother of all super-spreader events and could overwhelm hospitals for the rest of the holiday season. Personally, I’ll be having a virtual Thanksgiving because, although still symptom free, I’m still in my two week quarantine. I know that it’s not the same thing as being able to break bread together, or share the comfort food meals that we want, but it’s better than putting my high-risk parents at even higher risk. We’ve all endured a lot of hardships throughout 2020, not to mention the animosity stirred up by one of the most divided election seasons in history, but now is the time to come back together. We need to remember the fundamental truth that if we all did unto others, what we would have them do unto us, then everyone would be loved and cared for. This is the time of year when everyone needs extra love and support, and when even the best of us can get down at times. Taking a little extra time out of your day to give someone a kind word can be enough to change someone's outlook indefinitely. You never know when the seeds you plant will come to fruition, but the largest oaks still come from those tiny seeds. Take some time this season and plant some seeds of hope for others in need.
As for my interview this week, I had teased that I would be speaking to Ayanna DaCosta, the Director of Development for Vehicles for Change , but I ended up speaking with Simone Baptiste, their Director of Communications instead, and it was such a pleasant surprise. We had a wonderful conversation about a fascinating company that is making a real difference in people's lives. Their mission is to help end generational poverty and they do that not just through car donations, but also by giving training and second chances to formerly incarcerated individuals. I hope you find this conversation as captivating as I did, and maybe even motivating enough to get out there and help give back yourself this holiday season.

He’s about to publish his second book and is going to share some very provocative theories about our perception of the universe. I can’t overstate how excited I am for him and our other December guests!
Since we’re focusing on healthcare for this episode, I want to at least address the Covid nightmare that we’re still enduring at this point. I just want to stress that this isn’t a joking matter. I can share the Fort Worth Star Telegram’s report of a 4-year old boy who lost his dad in June. His dad, who was 33, contracted it while training for a new job. And then, four months later, his 29-year-old mother contracted Covid and passed as well. Two young people are gone and now this 4-year-old will never know his parents. I know that wearing a mask seems like a silly thing, but if there’s any chance that it’ll help even slow the spread of this virus until we can get the most vulnerable people in our society vaccinated, then it’s worth the hassle. Both of the new vaccines require being kept frozen and one of which needs -70 celsius, which is not an easy thing to transport or store, especially when you need hundreds of millions of doses. Let’s get our healthcare workers vaccinated, then our elderly, and then we still have to hope that it’s effective for long enough that we can tamp this virus down. Until we’re closer to those goals, I don’t think that wearing a mask is an unreasonable request. Europe is already turning the corner on their rise in infections, and how did they do it? By locking things down again and restricting all of their citizens. Since Americans won’t go for that, maybe we should do some voluntary measures. We had over 180,000 new cases on Friday the 13th alone, and still at more than 165,000 as I write this on the 16th. We were at 30,000 or so per day when everyone was freaked out, but now it’s not a big deal? Of course we all want to get back to normal, but does that mean you should care less about those around you? I definitely don’t think so.
Apparently I found my rant for the week, but now that that’s said, I want to thank Charlotte Ash for joining me this week. She was the Executive Director of the Snake River Community Clinic, in Lewiston, ID for the last 20 years. Her clinic specializes in serving the uninsured and under-insured of southwest Washington and northwest Idaho. Despite her recent retirement, she agreed to step in this week and talk about her personal passion for helping others. She chose to devote the latter part of her career to helping those in need rather than expanding her pocketbook. We’re extremely grateful to have her on our show today.
