By AwardsRadar.com
Welcome to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor-In-Chief Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure!

For episode number ninety eight, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes. This time around, Myles and I are talking about a number of things, but two topics in particular have our attention. First, we fume and rage over Warner Bros. canceling the release of Batgirl. Then, after some listener questions, we share in our love for the new film Vengeance (my rave review is here). We keep it to the end of the episode, but there are spoilers there, so be warned. There's also some discussion centered around San Diego Comic-Con, in particular the Marvel news. For episode number ninety four, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes. This time around, Myles and I talk a bit more about Thor: Love and Thunder (my review is here), though that's not the focus. Nor is revisits of The Outfit (my review is here) or X (likewise here) now that Myles has seen them, though they take up a nice chunk of the pod. We spend a fair amount of time at the end, however, talking RRR, now that I've finally seen it, but as usual, there's plenty of sidetracked conversations, just like we like it. There’s also reader questions, so it’s again a nice long one this week. Plus, we tease some video game chatter next week, so if you've got gaming related questions, be sure to send them in... For episode number ninety two, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes. Steve Prusakowski once again has the week off from the podcast, deservedly so I might add, with Emmy season and behind the scenes work a current focus. As such, Myles and I had one more smaller chat, doubling back to talk about Lightyear a bit, since he'd just seen that, with my review of the being here for you. We also debate Cha Cha Real Smooth, my review of which out of the Sundance Film Festival is here, while I give him some details on The Black Phone, which I just reviewed here. For episode number eighty nine, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes. Steve Prusakowski has the week off from the podcast, deservedly so. As such, Myles and I had a smaller chat, doubling back to talk about David Cronenberg's Crimes of the Future now that he's seen it (my review is here), as well as talking about the filmmaker's best work. Then, having just gotten home from seeing Jurassic World: Dominion, I ran down some of its stranger elements. My review is here, though once Myles begrudgingly sees it, we'll chat about it more. Then, there's some general Jurassic Park chatter, before we take the episode home. As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our ninetieth one to date (ten more to 100!). #79.5: Instant Oscar Reactions!
It's a special bonus episode, with Steve Prusakowski and yours truly breaking down the Oscar result moments after the show ended. Myles Hughes was unfortunately delayed while traveling and wasn't able to join us here, but he'll be back in our full episode that we're recording in a few days. That Oscar-centric pod will go up like normal on Thursday. In the meantime, Steve and I have our hot takes on the 94th Academy Awards to share with you all, including CODA winning Best Picture, some of the Oscars' self-inflicted wounds, and of course, THAT Will Smith moment... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, especially this bonus one. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #79: It's the Final Oscar Predictions Extravaganza!
For episode number seventy nine, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski. We recorded this episode on Tuesday night, shortly after Oscar voting came to a close. So, this is, for Myles and Steve at least, their final predictions. For myself, I'm holding out until my big article on Friday, but I let everyone in on what I'm thinking. This is one of our longer episodes, but also, in my humble opinion, one of our best... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy ninth to date. Plus, enjoy the Oscar telecast on Sunday! #78: Going Over a Wild Oscars Precursor Weekend
For episode number seventy eight, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski. We recorded this one while I was out in Los Angeles for the Critics Choice Awards, one of the many precursors we discuss on the pod. In addition to those, as well as their Oscar impact, I spill the beans on Deep Water (my review should also be up around the same time as the podcast goes live), as well as revisit The Worst Person in the World now that Myles has seen it. Plus, we also come up with an exciting new and interactive segment that will rear its head in about a month, so stay tuned for that... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy eighth to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. Episode #77 - 'The Batman' Before Mike Rianda Joins to Talk 'The Mitchells vs. the Machines'
For episode number seventy seven, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski, with a special guest in the second half of the show. Yes, The Mitchells vs. the Machines filmmaker Mike Rianda joined to talk to Myles and I (Steve wasn't able to make it, as we recorded this part early). He's delightful, as you've no doubt found out already in my interview with him, but this is another really fun conversation. Before that, however, we talk more about The Batman, including some spoilers, so be warned there... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy seventh to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #76: The Gang Ponders the SAG Results While Joey Regales Them With Tales of 'The Batman'
For episode number seventy six, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski. We recorded this one the day after the Screen Actors Guild Awards were held, so there's a fair amount of SAG discussion to be had. That moves into the films still in play for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. We also play our Oscar game some more, before finishing up with my thoughts on The Batman. We'll have a fuller discussion of the movie on the next episode, too, so stay tuned for that... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy sixth to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #75: Raging Against the Oscar Machine
For episode number seventy five, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski. We recorded this on the same day as the Oscar announcement that certain categories won't be shown live at the Academy Awards. As you might guess, we were pissed, so we raged on mic. You don't always get us at our most passionate, but here you truly do. Then, we play games and tease out how I'll be reporting back on The Batman next week, but we start off with some fire... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy fifth to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #74: Re-Writing Some Oscar Winner History!
For episode number seventy four, I’m joined, as always, by Myles Hughes, and Steve Prusakowski. Today, we play a game, one centered on Oscar winners. Essentially, we look at certain Academy Award-winning men and women, see where they took home the gold, and play out the alternate universe if they had won previously for a potentially more representative performance. It's fun and we hope to do it again, so be sure to send in some ideas! Plus, as always, questions from you all are answered. It's a loose one, with plenty of fun to be had... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy fourth to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. For episode number seventy two, I’m joined as always by Myles Hughes, as well as Steve Prusakowski. Today, we're dropping the pod a day early because of yesterday morning's Oscar nominations! We answer some listener questions and tackle one of the biggest snubs of the announcement. Then, we go through the categories, talking about our predictions and what might be next. It's a good time, as always... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventy second to date. #72: Final (Or Final-ish) Oscar Nomination Predictions
For episode number seventy two, I’m joined as always by Myles Hughes, as well as Steve Prusakowski. This week's episode is largely about our final, or in my case, final-ish, Oscar predictions. You can see where they currently stand here, but obviously, listening to the episode allows us to talk it all out. Plus, we have plenty of questions from you fine folks, so enjoy that aspect as well... #70: SAG-Related Silliness From Joey and the Gang
For episode number seventy, I’m joined by the trio of Myles Hughes, Steven Prusakowski, and Amanda Spears. This week, the Screen Actors Guild nominations are on our mind. So, it's a lot of SAG today, as you might imagine. We look at that precursor, as well as a play a SAG-related game. It's another particularly good one, folks, in addition to being informative as well... As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our seventieth to date. #69: Real-Time (At the Time) Golden Globe Reactions
For episode number sixty nine, I’m joined by the duo of Myles Hughes and Ryan McQuade (Steve got a much needed break for this one). This week, we had the bright idea to record while the Golden Globe Awards were going on. So, you get to hear us react not just to the winners, but also to that Twitter account, which left so much to be desired. This is about as much attention as we were ever going to give the Golden Globes, so enjoy that. It's ultimately a very funny, but also interesting, episode, at least if you ask me... For episode number sixty eight, I’m joined once again by the duo of Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski, alongside Amanda Spears. This week, the gang takes some questions, but then focuses largely on earlier in the week's 100 films to look forward to in 2022 piece (here). We chat about the ones we're most eager to see, as well as speculate about which may or may not even come out this year. It's another real good one, ladies and gentlemen, if I do say so myself... Then, we catch up on some titles, before wrapping with a more spoiler-filled conversation about Spider-Man: No Way Home (my review is here) than last week. Plus, more of a tease on The Matrix Resurrections (my review is now up here), which we'll discuss in full on the next episode. #51 - TIFF Preview and More Festival Chatter
For episode number fifty one, I was joined by the crew, but split into pieces due to logistics. So, part of the podcast has Ryan McQuade and Steve Prusakowski joining me, while the other section is myself with Mitchell Beaupre and Myles Hughes. In both sections, we talk about my trip up to Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival (I also wrote about it here yesterday). In addition to TIFF, Ryan and Steve got into the festival buzz with me out of the Telluride Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. With Mitchell and Myles, we doubled back to talk more about Candyman and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Plus, I teased them a little in regards to The Card Counter and that just lifted embargo. There's plenty of good stuff here, I can assure you of that...or at least, we certainly have a good time once again. As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our fifty first one to date. It's a ton of fun, capped off by playing Cinephile: A Card Game, which was a blast! Obviously, thank you all for listening to our nonsense. Here's to 50 more, followed by many more after that... As always my friends, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our fiftieth one to date. Yes, we hit that milestone in under a year! Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #49 - 'Candyman' Chatter and Various Movie Games
For episode number forty nine, I was joined once again by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski (for all segments), along with our pseudo-regular in Ryan McQuade. First of all, can you believe that our fiftieth episode is next? Big #50, and it's all thanks to you. This time around, however, we went game heavy, playing our two favorite new games. Plus, Ryan and I talked about Candyman, where we seem to be going against the grain. All that plus reader questions (thanks again Ryan McDermond for your continued patronage), making for a fun new episode... As always my friends, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty ninth one to date. Yes, number fifty is next! For episode number forty eight, I was joined once again by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski (though only for one segment), along with our pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade, as well as Mitchell Beaupre. We spent some time going over new releases like CODA, and more, as well as answered a couple of listener/reader questions, before playing short versions of our popular new games. #47: New Releases and Our New Game 'Radar Recalibrate' the 2020 Oscars
For episode number forty seven, I was joined once again by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, along with our pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade, as well as Mitchell Beaupre. We spent some time going over new releases like Free Guy, The Night House, Vivo, and more, as well as answered a listener/reader question, but the majority of the time was spent on a new game. This one, possibly called Awards Radar Recalibration, has us going through an Oscar year and deciding whether to recall the winner, and if so, who or what we'd replace them with. To start off, we did the famous Parasite year. Did it hold off its main contenders? Only one way to find out... As always my friends, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty seventh one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #46: We Catch Up Before Riding With 'The Suicide Squad'
For episode number forty six, I was joined once again by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, along with our pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade. As always, we answer a listen/reader question, before again going over some recent/upcoming releases. We spent more time on The Green Knight, though a big chunk is dedicated to The Suicide Squad, where Myles and I spend over a half hour raving. We’ve also brought back the game, which I know is a popular new offering… As always my friends, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty sixth one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #45: We Take 'The Green Knight,' 'Val' and 'Annette' on a 'Jungle Cruise'
For episode number forty three, I was joined by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, making for a smaller gathering than usual. We answer some questions as always, but spend most of our time together going over our takes on recent/upcoming releases. The films in question include Annette, The Green Knight, Jungle Cruise, Old, Stillwater, and Val. We've held off on the new game for a week, but that'll be back next week, for sure... As always friends, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty fifth one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #44 - Cannes Chat, Plus the Popular New Game Returns!
For episode number forty three, I was once again joined by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, along with pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade, as well as the return of Mitchell Beaupre. We start off with some discussion of the not so good Joe Bell (my review is here), then pivot to the winners from the Cannes Film Festival. There are questions galore, as well as our popular new game gets a second installment. It's a real good time, if I do say so myself... As is always the case for us here, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty fourth one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #43 - Emmy Nominations, The 'Loki' Finale, 'Pig' talk and a New Game
For episode number forty two, I was once again joined by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, along with pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade. This show features a bunch of talk about the Loki finale, as well as the Emmy nominations from earlier on in the week. Then, we get into Pig, which is truly something. My review went up yesterday and can be found here, if you haven't seen it yet. That's just the tip of the iceberg today, too, as we stumbled upon a really fun new game... As is always the case for us here, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty third one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #42: We Take a Trip With 'Zola,' Play a Palme d'Or Game, and Visit Julianne Moore-More
For episode forty two, I was once again joined by regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, along with Ryan McQuade. This show features more Loki talk, as well as a fun Palme d'Or related game. Plus, there's more of a debate about Zola, as not everyone loves it quite as much as yours truly. My review is here if you need a refresher, but it's a healthy debate, which is always appreciated. The other usual shenanigans are here as well, so dive right in... As is always the case for us here, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our forty second one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. #41 - Joey, Myles, and Steve Put a Bow on the First Half of 2021 Films
For episode forty one, I was once again joined by regulars Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. This time around, we wrapped up the first half of the year, in advance of my awards post, coming tomorrow. We also talk some Black Widow, touch on where Loki stands, and do another Mount Rushmore, as well as a Filmaholic Face-Off. Throw in some Zola talk and more, plus our usual silliness, and it's a good time... For episode number forty, the larger gang is together again. Joining me were regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, but also on hand were Mitchell Beaupre and Ryan McQuade. The topics today include Luca, the newest Loki episode, and another Mount Rushmore to go over. Plus, we wrap up the Tribeca Film Festival, which includes an emotional chat about Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain. #39: Breaking Down Why 'In the Heights' Didn't Break the Box Office
For episode number thirty nine, it was a more intimate affair this week. I was joined once again by podcast regular Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski, but only them. It'll be a bigger crowd again next week, but today was a smaller gathering. We tackle an Owen Wilson related question, build another Mount Rushmore, speculate on Loki, and discuss In the Heights more. The latter two topics are most of what we're up to, but there's plenty of other silliness and random asides to be found, as always... As is always the case for us here, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our thirty-ninth one to date. Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. For episode number thirty eight, I was joined once again by podcast regular Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski. This time around, we answer a reader question that’s Emily Blunt-centric, then get into a number of topics, including Loki. For episode number thirty seven (in a row...yes, I'm repeating my Clerks joke), I was joined once again by podcast regular Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. This week, pseudo regular Ryan McQuade returns, while Mitchell Beaupre makes their inaugural appearance. This time around, we answer a reader question that’s Kate Winslet-centric, then focus on a her show Mare of Easttown. We also talk more about A Quiet Place Part II, plan a number of Mounts, make bad movie pitches, and much more. It's a crowded episode, but a pretty good one, if I do say so myself... #36 - A New/Upcoming Film Grab-Bag and Film Reviews
Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure! For episode number thirty six, I was joined once again by podcast regular Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski. We answer a reader question that's Emma Stone-centric, then focus on a number of new/upcoming film releases. They include Army of the Dead, Cruella, In the Heights, A Quiet Place Part II, Riders of Justice, Zola, and more. Look for more on each of the impending releases soon, but we have a good time chatting about them all...

#35.5 - A Very Special 'Sugar and Spicey' Retrospective
Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure! For this special episode, we're at our absolute silliness. I was joined by Myles Hughes and Ryan McQuade to bid farewell to Sugar and Spicey, but having Kevin Spicey sit in for an in studio interview. As you might expect, it's ridiculous and a bit stupid, but Myles knocks it out of the park. Ryan introduces a new character, too, so be sure to find out who/what that is. Suffice it to say, it all goes off the rails...

For episode number thirty five, I was joined once again by podcast regular Myles Hughes, along with fellow Saw fan Kendall Tinston, in addition to Casey Tinston as well. Much like with episode four back last year (listen here), it's a Saw-centric podcast. After my rave review (here), interview with director Darren Lynn Bousman (here), interview with cinematographer Jordan Oram (here), and Sunday Scaries piece (here), we've really cornered the market on discussing Spiral.

For episode number nineteen, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski. We also saw the return of my old pal (pun intended) Mark Johnson. Yes, my former colleague and current friend Mark popped in this time to talk Oscar with us. Formerly of Awards Circuit and now at Awards Daily, Mark was kind enough to make it another mini Circuit Breaker reunion of sorts. He hangs out for a rundown of the various Academy Award categories before Myles regales us with another episode of, you guessed it...Sugar and Spicy! Even with all the silliness, I hope you all enjoy the nineteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast. As always, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. We even record yet another terrible commercial to continue to share that news with you all. More to come each week!

#18: 'Judas and the Black Messiah' Deep Dive with Keith Lucas, & Sitcom Comedy Ensues
For episode number eighteen, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steve, alongside pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade. However, far more notably, we were joined once again by actor, comedian, and writer Keith Lucas. We talk some more Judas and the Black Messiah, having now seen the film. Then, we debut the ridiculous skit we teased out last week. Myles outdid himself, so kudos there. It’s a good one, I think, a mix of interview and our regular podcasting nonsense, with utter stupidity of the highest order thrown in for good measure. Once again, it was great to also catch up with Keith, which I’m pretty sure comes across in the conversation this time as well. Even with all the silliness, I hope you all enjoy the eighteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast. As always, feel free to revisit the previous dozen installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. Plus, as recently mentioned, you can now listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. We even record yet another terrible commercial to continue to share that news. #17: Hanks For Everything, Bad Movie Pitches, Sugar & Spice
For episode number seventeen, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steve. Boy, were we in a silly mood, starting with our newest commercial. This time around, we answered questions, sure, but we also played a game. That game, in turn, may just have generated a recurring segment. You'll have to listen to know exactly what I'm talking about, but trust me, it's a fun one. Plus, we're going to have Keith Lucas on again next week to talk Judas and the Black Messiah some more, so that's very exciting... Silliness and all, I hope you all enjoy the seventeenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast. As always, feel free to revisit the previous dozen installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. Plus, as recently mentioned, you can now listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. We even record another terrible commercial to continue to share that news. More to come each week!

#16: A Crummy Commercial, Carey Mulligan Face-off, & Super Awards
For episode number sixteen, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski, plus pseudo-regular Ryan McQuade. This time around, we hit on a few different topics, including Carey Mulligan and the Best Actress race. Specifically, we look into the possibility that the Actress lineup could feature three women of color (Viola Davis, Andra Day, and Zendaya). Plus, we continue to run a few recurring gags into the ground. If you enjoy the teasing of Myles and Steve, let us know. If it's getting to be too much...well, let us know too. No promises, though! I hope you all enjoy the sixteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast. As always, feel free to revisit the previous dozen installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. Plus, as recently mentioned, you can now listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. We even record a terrible commercial to share that news. More to come each week!

# 15: The Most Anticipated Films of 2021 Filmaholic Face-Offs
For episode number fifteen, kicking off 2021, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. This time around, 2021 was the main focus. Specifically, we looked at a number of films from my 2021 anticipated movies piece (here). Obviously, many are holdovers from 2020, but not all. It led to a fun back and forth, especially as we got to some, let's call them...less than likely Oscar contenders. In particular, a moment or two led to my brain breaking, which Myles and Steve really enjoyed. I think you will too. As always, a really good time was had by all. I hope you all enjoy the fifteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast. As always, feel free to revisit the previous dozen installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. More to come each week!

#14: Keith Lucas Sits In To Discuss "Judas and the Black Messiah" and Much More
For episode number fourteen, rearing its head here on New Year's Eve, I was joined once again by podcast regulars Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. However, much more notably, we were joined by actor, comedian, and writer Keith Lucas. We talk about comedy, his favorites of the year, and obviously Judas and the Black Messiah. Then, we put a bow on 2020 with some end of the year talk. It's a good one, I think, a mix of interview and our regular podcasting nonsense. Beyond all that, it was great to also catch up with Keith, which I'm pretty sure comes across in the conversation. I hope you all enjoy the fourteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, especially pertaining to Keith Lucas. Also, obviously, enjoy your New Year's Eve (safely), folks. #13: Christmas Eve with The MCU and a Bad Movie Propositions
For episode number thirteen, dropping on Christmas Eve, I was joined once again by regulars Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. We spend a lot of time ranking the Marvel Cinematic Universe while answering a reader question. Then, things go rather off the rails. You can hear for yourself, but I suspect the ridiculousness will prove a bit divisive. Essentially, this will either be your favorite episode of the podcast, due to how wacky it gets, or it’ll be your least favorite, considering how off-track things go. Either way, we hope it gives you all at least a few laughs today! I hope you all enjoy the thirteenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, craziness and all! Also, obviously, enjoy Christmas Eve, folks. Plus, feel free to revisit the previous dozen installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page. More to come each week!

#12: Mark Johnson Pops in to Talk Sports, Oscar Categories, and More
For episode number twelve, I was joined once again by staff member Ryan McQuade, while an old pal (pun intended) dropped by. Yes, former colleague and current friend Mark Johnson popped in this time around. Formerly of Awards Circuit and now at Awards Daily, Mark was kind enough to make it a mini Circuit Breaker reunion. We got in some sports talk, as we’re all big football fans, though we obviously got down to movies, too. Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet was a subject, as were a few of the Oscar categories. To be sure, we hit a bit of everything, from Academy Award chatter, all the way to Cleveland Browns history. Readers, we’re a dozen strong now. Enjoy this twelfth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast! #11: Eric Marchen Joins the Gang to Muse About Best Actor and the Warner Bros. / HBO Max Situation
For episode number eleven, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes alongside special guest Eric Marchen. A fellow critic, Eric was kind enough to have me on two of his shows (here and here), we were delighted to return the favor. We tackle a reader question, followed by a spirited discussion about what Warner Bros. is doing with their 2021 slate, in terms of HBO Max. Throw in some Best Actor chatter, as well as a brief bit on News of the World, and there’s plenty of topics on display today… Readers, enjoy this eleventh episode of the Awards Radar Podcast! #10: Best Actress Talk, The Talented Mr. Fincher, and More!
For episode number ten, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes, Ryan McQuade, and Steve Prusakowski for a good bit of fun. We answer a handful of questions, taking on where babies come from, debating the films of David Fincher, and even doing some Oscar talk. It’s madness, but do you expect any less out of us? I didn’t think so. As always, we had a blast doing the podcast, so if even a bit of it comes off in the recording, it should be a good time. Of course, let us know if you happen to agree… Faithful readers, I hope you’re healthy and staying safe. Now, enjoy this tenth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast! #9: Visual F/X, The Rule of Thr33s, and Talking Turkey
For episode nine, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski for a ton of fun, with Ryan McQuade joining in as well. We talk turkey, with Thanksgiving having been yesterday (though we recorded this episode back on Sunday). There’s also a long breakdown of the last decade in Best Visual Effects winners and nominees, buoyed by a reader question. Throw in a bit of Soul chatter, among other topics, and it’s a nice little grab bag of topics. As always, we had a blast doing the podcast, so if even a bit of it comes off in the recording, it should be a good time. Of course, let us know if you agree… Everyone, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. #8: A Deep Dive on Vince Vaughn, Howard vs Howard, and More!
With episode eight upon us, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski for a hearty bit of nonsense. We answer a listener/reader question that leads to a discussion of various Ron Howard films. We do a deep dive on Vince Vaughn, focusing on three movies in particular. Some of the recent Oscar contenders seen by yours truly get briefly talked about. It’s a hodgepodge of all of the things you’ve come to expect from us, so hopefully you enjoy it. As always, we enjoyed ourselves, so fingers crossed that the feeling is mutual! #7: No One Puts Swayze in the Corner
For episode lucky number seven of the podcast, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski, as well as Max Joseph. We get the election out of our system, talking about Joe Biden‘s victory and Donald Trump‘s defeat. Yes, we even do a quick little comedy bit. Then, we get to the business of movies. In addition to taking reader questions, there’s a handful of different topics. Plus, the gang misunderstands a Patrick Swayze comment of mine, with some amusement ensuing. Fingers crossed you all have as good a time listening the this episode of the podcast as we did recording the damn thing. #6: Election Jitters, ‘Mank’ Talk, a Farewell to Sean Connery, and Video Games
*Special Note: At the start of this episode there’s an extra introduction. The podcast was recorded initially on Sunday morning, but the extra intro is from yesterday evening. Obviously, the election has swung in wild directions, so the added bit at the top addresses it. The full episode follows.* A half dozen episodes in, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. We joke a bit about the election (which hasn’t aged too well), but then go off in a number of directions. There’s talk of David Fincher‘s Mank, before the review embargo lifts tomorrow. There’s a farewell to Sean Connery and James Bond talk. Plus, we talk video games, too. There truly is something for everyone here with this podcast… Friends, enjoy the sixth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast and feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab on the top of the page!

#5: Joey, Myles, Robert, and Steve Get Political
This time around, I was joined once again by Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski, but also welcomed back Robert Hamer to the world of podcasting. We tackle a handful of recent film news, as well as Halloween and the impending election. It’s a nice little hodgepodge of topics, complete with a mysterious creepy voice that bleeds into the audio at one point. A special shoutout will go to whomever comes up with the best explanation for what the voice is, what it’s saying, and why it’s there…

#4: We Came. We SAW. We Podcasted. The Gang Plays a Game with the ‘Saw’ Franchise
This time around, I was joined by Myles Hughes and Kendall Tinston to do a deep dive on the Saw franchise. Not only do we run down each of the installments in the series, we talk about the various traps, what we love about the iconic horror flicks, and what we laugh about. You even get some chatter about the video game, hopes for the upcoming Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and more. It’s a lot of fun, if we do say so ourselves. The three of us enjoyed ourselves immensely, so we hope you do too, especially if you’re a Saw fan. Indulgent? Perhaps a little. But, where else can you get yours truly doing an awful impression of John Kramer/The Jigsaw Killer? Exactly… Enjoy the fourth episode of the Awards Radar Podcast and feel free to revisit the Saw franchise before, after, or during this podcast!

#3: Abe and Max Join Joey for Trailer Talk!
This time around, I’m joined by Abe Friedtanzer and Max Joseph to discuss the trailers for films like Mank, News of the World, and Promising Young Woman, as well as some Oscar talk in relation to each of these potential contenders. Plus, more horror movie and political movie recommendations to chew on, which leads to Abe and Max admitting to not being huge fans of the genre. Some gentle easing ensues… Enjoy the second episode of the Awards Radar Podcast!

#2: Joey and Myles Take On the Delayed Films of 2020
This time around, I was joined by Myles Hughes to tackle the gargantuan task of running down all of the films delayed in one form or another this year. It’s an epic list, one filled with movies coming out in 2021, 2022, and beyond (plus some random 2020 releases, still). As such, there are a number of tangents, as well as the teasing of a special Halloween edition of the podcast coming soon where Myles and I will be running down the SAW franchise with fellow Awards Radar writer Kendall Tinston. If you’re a fan of the franchise, it’s one not to miss… Enjoy the third episode of the Awards Radar Podcast and look out for that special SAW edition of the podcast soon!

#1: Welcome and Enjoy the Mess!
As promised, we are delighted to launch into orbit the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure! Starting things off, I’m joined by Myles Hughes and Steven Prusakowski to talk about a few Oscar categories, take a question from a reader (and now hopefully listener), and mix in as much silliness as possible. With it being almost Halloween and election season, we have some bonus movie recommendations to share as well, so listen for those… Enjoy episode one of the podcast and be sure to let us know your thoughts!
