Baba meets...is a monthly podcast, brought to you by www.babababoon.co.uk, focusing on the stories of individuals, community groups, charities and businesses from across the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire region. The aim is to highlight the skill, talent, inspiration and achievement of the varied communities in the area while raising awareness of a variety of projects, initiatives, events and the impact happening in and across Staffordshire and the Potteries.
In this month's episode of Baba meets...we catch up with Stoke-on-Trent Life Coach Darren Brookes as he talks about his own career journey, along with the challenges he's faced as well as those of the past year. He also reveals how he is supporting people to realise, set and achieve their own aspirations, plus he gives us the lowdown on his work with Alice Charity in supporting dad's, and also gives an insight into his forthcoming new book.
In this first episode of Baba meets...we catch up with community champion for the Stoke-on-Trent town of Fenton, Alan Gerrard, a lead for the Lidice Lives campaign. Here he chats to us about the history and inspiration behind the campaign, to remember the atrocities which befell the Czechoslovakian village of Lidice at the hands of the Nazi regime, during WW2, and the current multi-national project to create a memorial garden here in Stoke-on-Trent.
