When you live abroad, finding different ways to stay connected to your roots often involves reaching out to and building a community with others from across the diaspora. Bacchanal Abroad is a space for us to not only share the realities of what life abroad can look and feel like for Caribbean people, but also help us all stay connected and grounded in our identities while we figure out life in a completely different context.
Episode 21 of Bacchanal Abroad was recorded in early July 2020 and features a conversation between four Trinbagonians living abroad. A huge thank you to Jessie for making this possible and bringing us together in this space for such an enlightening conversation on:

#20: Madrid Art and Culture ft. Kristen Wiltshire
Join Kristen Wiltshire (Trinidad & Tobago) - a veteran Trini in Madrid - on this week's episode from the vaults as she talks about why she created an online community geared towards sharing art and cultural events in the Spanish capital with expats and visitors.
Museums can be such an overwhelming experience for those of us who are not so familiar with art history. Kristen breaks down her favourite museums in the city and across Europe, as well as how you can dip your toes in and make museum outings more palatable on your travels.
Since recording this episode back in April 2020, the Madrid Art and Culture Facebook group has grown to over 2600 members! Whenever you're in Madrid, this is your go-to source for daily updates on cultural events & art exhibitions on in the city.

Khadija Stewart (Trinidad and Tobago) is an Environmentalist with many travel adventures to share. On this episode of the Bacchanal Abroad podcast, Khadija walks us through how she has been able to turn a Year 2 UWI Geography project into an ocean of opportunities starting with her blog, Ecovybz.
Khadija has a knack for finding fully-funded opportunities to travel on youth programs in the field of Environmental Activism - from Norway to Brazil, Spain, and the UK . This episode is also packed with unique insights into navigating the world of Environmentalism as a young, black, Caribbean woman and the challenges faced when tokenism comes in to play.

On this week’s episode of your new favourite travel podcast, Paige Andrew (Trinidad and Tobago/Grenada) recounts her lahhays through Colombia, Mozambique, Bali, and Salvador da Bahia, Brazil to help add to the different perspectives of what travel can look like for Caribbean travellers.
Paige is a Fulbright Scholar who first studied abroad at UWI Mona for her undergraduate degree and then went on to receive her Masters in Ohio, USA.
