Backseat Banter

By Joshua & Alvin

A podcast where two young and opinionated (but ultimately naive) petrolheads talk cars, among other things. Feel free to disagree with our bad takes… of which there are plenty.

#5.5: Why Do We Still Watch Formula 1?

In this motorsport-centric episode, the two boys tries to rationalise why they aren’t that invested in F1 anymore. Also in this episode, they reminisce about their personal experience going to a live F1 race and their expectations for the coming 2023 season. Oh, and there’s something about a sponge too.

#5. Is Miata Always The Answer?

In this episode, the two boys host a mutual counselling session to determine whether the Mazda MX-5/Miata is really the answer to all of life’s questions, but potentially insults all of its owners in the process. Also if new sales of this Japanese roadster slumps after this, we’re sorry.

#3. Carlist Cruisin’: Japan For RM 40k

Watch it on YouTube for the intended experience! In this visual episode, the two boys have a casual search through the classifieds to see what they could get for the same price as the previously-discussed Cayenne, but end up quickly getting sidetracked into talking about the various bargain basement Japanese cars available for sale. Also in this episode, the boys dream up a test on determining the most imposing car on the road and discover thereafter that their car knowledge isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
