The Backups podcast

The Backups are back for a special Christmas episode. We cap off 2020 with Team Canada's world junior goalie Taylor Gauthier and our long-time buddy Riley Mcveigh of the UWEC Blue-golds. 

On episode 30 we are joined by Internet hockey legend and world-renowned skills coach Pavel Barber. We discuss his career in entertainment, travelling the world for hockey and his skills training with NHL hall of famer Jonathan Toews. We also discuss Jay's New BCHL signing and the latet on the NHL playoffs.

We're back and better than ever... or at least just as good. For our triumphant return, we spoke with RIT NCAA D1 goalie Logan Drackett about his experience playing in Rochester, a big Nashville trip with the boys and his love for other peoples dogs amongst other shenanigans. The boys also touch on NHL playoff reviews, Pavel Barber ice times and some troubling issues on the 29th episode of the Backups.

On this episode we sat down with Bauer Goalie Global Brand Manager Spencer Freer to discuss his involvement with a brand that has climbed its way to the top of the goaltending world.  The boys also talk about a silly night at Fabio's house, and the first round playoff goalie match ups.

On Episode 23 we sit down with social media legend Kane Van Gate to discuss his new movie "Hockey Journey" and his incredible career so far. 

On today's episode, we hear from U19 Team Canada and world travelling team-AJHL players Matty Davis and Alex young. We introduce a new segment on the podcast "EP trivia" where we quiz our guests on their own hockey history, before speaking about their time travelling to Russia to represent the CJHL.

McEwan university goalie Tommy Davis joins us to discuss his Marc Andre fleury style pranks and his crazy junior career in Canmore. We also discuss the time Fabio and Nate met flames players out at the clubs.

On episode 20 were joined by flames EBUG and Mount Royal Alumni Colin Cooper. We talk about his time practicing with guys like Tkachuk and Gaudreau as well as his experience playing in the Crowchild classic.

Most people would consider North Korea as a less than desirable vacation destination. But I wouldn't call Francois Lemay "most people". For the past 3 years, he's been involved with coaching and creating the hockey programs for the entire country of North Korea, meeting a ton of people along the way.
