Cheat Lake through the seasons
This exploration of the Cheat Lake near Morgantown in West Virginia couples the dramatic photography of local photographer, Steve Heap, with the story of this lake from its beginnings to the present day. The story, narrated by the photographer, illustrates the changes both along the length of the lake but also as the seasons develop and contains some striking images from the air from a drone. Restoring an old painting of the Baltimore and Ohio Railway
The Library of Congress has some great old photos and paintings and one caught my eye recently. A painting of the Baltimore and Ohio railway cresting the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia. Unfortunately, time had not been kind to the print and so I set to work restoring it digitally. You can see the progress in my article on BackyardImage.com, together with detailed photos of the work.
