The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into force on 23rd January this year. These included changes in relation to fire doors, as well as changes to the responsibilities of responsible persons and property owners.

This included the need to undertake checks of all fire doors on a quarterly basis, and the requirement to ‘best endeavours’ to undertake yearly checks of all flat entrance doors, including self-closing devices, that lead into common areas of the building

But what does ‘best endeavours’ mean? Is it on par with “reasonable practicability” or does it mean something more?

In this webinar, our speakers will provide you with:

— An overview of the recently introduced Regulations concerning fire doors and what they are, and what you need to be doing

— A high-level review of the legal concept of ‘best endeavours’ to help you understand how far your responsibilities may extend under the new legislation.

Our guest speakers for this episode are Paul Coster, Fire Safety Consultancy Director at William Martin Compliance, and Mamata Dutta, Legal Director at RPC.

This webinar ran live on Tuesday 28th February 2023 and all information referenced was valid at that date.
