Baskets and Beads Kenya makes some really unique designs and beautiful products. As a result, sometimes we have lots of one product and other times we will have a one-of-a-kind product. It all has to stay organized. With the holiday season approaching it is important to go over inventory. Let's talk about some of our favorite items.

The Swahili word of the day is Pwani- Beach. Sometimes life can give you unexpected curve balls. What do you see around you that you can enjoy.
Swahili Sunday- Go Pink Rules of Engagement: Positive Action
Take Positive Action Towards Your Goals and Dreams. •
Dreams without action or merely fantasies. You cannot achieve a goal or a dream by simply writing it down and wishing for it to happen. You have to take some sort of action to bring it to fruition. •
Check out more details on the blog. https://basketsandbeadskenya.com/.../goal-setting-revisited
Swahili Sunday- There's no weakness in Forgiveness- msamaha
There’s No Weakness in Forgiveness.•
Swahili word for forgiveness is msamaha. •
Forgiveness isn’t for the other person, it’s for you to release that anger and hate from your body. •
The Lords Prayer says “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us” we are asking God to forgive us while at the same time we are forgiving others. •
Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you have to have those people back in your life. It just means you’re not going to hold onto the resentment any longer.•

Swahili Sunday - Faith- Imani
When you walk in faith you do amazing things. This week's word in Swahili is Imani (Faith). There will always be opportunities all around you when you have faith in what you do. Baskets and Beads is thankful for Safari Park as they collaborate to sell the products of Baskets and Beads Kenya/ www.basketsandbeadskenya.com to become stable in this business the company has to have lots orders. Although we have many necklaces and products, not all the ladies make all of them. However, the single strand paperbeads are made by all the ladies. Help us reach sustainability and order your favorite products.
Swahili Sunday- Updates From Kenya and How to Start an NGO in Africa
We review some of the caveats of setting up an NGO in Africa and the progress that has been made within Baskets and Beads Kenya. It takes more than just paperwork to create the business you want in the fair trade industry. You truly have to take control of the handlebars of your life drive to your desired destination.

Swahili Sunday- Fair Trade and Fashion while Negotiating
Negotiation is an art that is better improved by knowing who you are negotiating with and working to speak their language. Language is not just words, it is also the clothing we wear, the faces we make, and the non-verbal ways we express ourselves. Organizing a non-profit to empower others requires following lots of rules along the way.
Swahili Sunday- Get excited about your goal
We have to get excited about what we are doing to keep doing it. There will be obstacles and hurdles along your journey. I experienced some but that isn't going to stop me from sharing some Swahili vocabulary and get on my bike and ride.
Swahili Sunday- Showing Grace Beyond the Actions of Others
Sometimes things will not be said to you that you like, or people will not agree. It is possible to show them grace and kindness objectively and not get caught up in their words. There are times when we have to keep emotions out of business.
Swahili Sunday- When a door closes, a window of opportunity opens
There are so many changes happening with travel. It is hard to follow all of it but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. It was a blessing to visit Kenya shortly to see the ladies, do some photos and create new products together. Now that the borders are closed again it will give us time to sell the new inventory at www.basketsandbeadskenya.com and still send support through the nonprofit www.basketsandbeadskenya.org with food packs.
Nothing is forever and how we reach during times of struggle will determine future success.
Swahili Sunday- Leaping into Language, Culture and Expanding Business Relations
Being in Kenya was an amazing experience. Although Kenya was only open for a short time, it was possible to get so much accomplished. We bought fabric, contracted with other creators, did a photo shoot, made new products for the store www.basketsandbeadskenya.com and so much more. We even took time to relax by the beach, played with the kids, celebrated birthdays and I got new books to learn and teach more Swahili. It is easier to negotiate when you know the native language. I am on a mission to speak more conversational Swahili, let's talk about it.
Swahili Sunday- International Business Building in Kenya
Being in Kenya with the artisans made it so we could have a photoshoot, talk about business building, product development and more. It has been a long road of trust while travel has been restricted. There have been people who come and go in the village but Baskets and Beads Kenya has stayed true. Even while product sales had not been as profitable as prior to the pandemic, Baskets and Beads as an organization was able to provide food packs, shoes for students and other helpful supplies for the tribe. Hear all about the last year and how the artisans of Baskets and Beads Kenya rise with belief and productivity.
GO to www.basketsandbeadskenya.com to check out new inventory like pillows and matching earrings and headband sets.
Swahili Sunday- Preparing for International Travel
Artisans in Kenya are ready to rise and share what they have been making while being as safe as possible during the pandemic. There has been heartache as loved ones were lost. Being able to travel and embrace is a blessing. Traveling requires navigating through restrictions and Eldonna Fernandez knows how to negotiate through it.
