Boise GM Joe Lederer joins Sacramento GM Ron Collins once again to take a tour of the Trade Deadline around the Brewster. We spend a few minutes discussing the deals that have already gone down, look at interesting players who might be on the move, and even engineer a couple of deals, wherein Ron shoots does the title shooting. And, then, once again, there might be something at the end for those who listen all the way to the end.

Boise GM Joe Lederer joins Sacramento GM Ron Collins (yes you heard that right) to take a deep, analytical (ha!) spin through the league after the June 30, 2055 sim. There's discussion about GMs past and current, recent winners of the Brewster, and maybe even a gift segment for those who sit through the outro music.

Ron Collins opens up the 2047 league file and ponders a few things. Is this like the Three True Outcomes? Is he spinning like he's on the sticky stuff? Only one way to find out, eh?

Stephen Lane and I sit down to talk about the first two FA sims and maybe make rumor or two about Feliciano Rafael.

There's a lot of meat to the bone on this one, so we went a bit longer than normal. Such is life, right? Today I get to dig into Randy Weigand's Best Pitcher Rankings and explore the nuances of how the season shaped up--Randy explains his process in a few quick moments then proceeds to talk to us about give us insight into how the paths and fortunes of various pitchers and staffs fell out over the course of the season. It's a gift that never ends!

Then we go a bit further expanding upon a late-night slack conversation we had regarding the various structures that Free Agent contracts tend to be built on. Angel Gonzales, Dong-Po Thum, Aki Kondo, and others come to ... um ... bear. 

Rockville GM Aaron Weiner joins me to talk a little about the post season so far and tonight's BBA Doubleday and UMEBA United Cup sims before we dig into the Award season. As always, though, we slip into various issues and weird diversions that might or might not include Robin Cooper, the value of relievers, catcher defense, and then there's a bit on why the Swiss are so great.

Oh, and there might be a special sighting in there, too.

Ron Collins and Ted Schmidt discuss Ted's despair over his Brewster Bucks futures, specifically regarding a some hot potatoes in Boise.  Is Hsin Mei a future Hall of Famer?  We're not sure, but a couple of guys who recently fell off the ballot probably should have been.  How does the catcher workload affect counting stats?  Does the BBA have a problem appreciating defensive standouts?  We appear to have decided Brooks Robinson doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.  Sacramento has suffered from some recent injuries.  Is their run in jeopardy?  What in the world is going on with Portland's pitching staff?  How many questions can I ask in one podcast preview blurb?  Listen and find out ...  maybe?

Ron Collins and Ted Schmidt are joined by Aaron Weiner for some BBA draft banter.  Topics include interesting players, reaches, value picks, and the state of the draft itself as well as evolving draft strategies.  Before that however, we ramble on for entirely too long about hot teams, division leaders and the like.  What is in the water in Sacramento?  Is David Simpson human?  With Rockville at their rightful place atop the Atlantic, do the other teams in the division still have a chance?  Omaha is jerks.

Ted Schmidt and Ron Collins dig into a couple topics that Ted most definitely just pushed off until Ron could get back--specifically the signing of Aaron Haney and the big Edmonton/Vegas deal. Then, thereupon, endeavor to discuss finances across the board, starting with Bucharest and spinning wildly out of control, touching on teams like Seattle, and Valencia, and Des Moines, and Bucharest again, and Boise, and Charm City and ... well ... Twin Cities and Yellow Springs.

Then we get to the fun stuff--a deep-dive into the oh-so cool project that Randy and Joe are running to apply Bill James' pitcher ranking methodology to the BBA!

Ron Collins and Ted Schmidt discuss the new contracts of Long Beach's Danya Tchekanov and Vancouver's Fernando Castillo for a bit.  The rest of the episode is the beginning of a deep dive into era adjusted counting stats.  What if a player had been better than the rest of the league to exactly the same degree, but had played in the MLB in the 1930's?

Ron asks the gang about Calgary, we dig into a couple of the bigger trades of the past week, and then hold a bit of a wake for poor Twin Cities, new home of dead pitching (with apologies to Phoenix).

Ron and Ted discuss Emilio Morales getting to 600 and dueling No Hitters.  Some teams are surprising.  Not all surprises are good.  Lots of big name players signed extensions worth discussing.

Ted and Ron spend another hour or so talking about events in and around the BBA, talking about surprise and looking at the always-fun ridiculous projections that come withe early May. Then there are trades to look at, and the draft, and a bit of a rambling over Ted's view that "pitchers' parks are bad."
