2021 Week 3 Preview - Virginia Tech in Morgantown, UVA tests North Carolina, Miami hosts Michigan State, and...can Georgia Tech keep it close?
The guys are back, previewing all of the ACC's Week 3 action, including: Virginia Tech is ranked and undefeated, and yet they're an underdog on the road against an unranked West Virginia team? Something stinks here. Joey picked North Carolina to win the Coastal, Mike picked Miami, and neither is particularly confident in their selected champions this week. Did Georgia Tech's coaching staff learn anything after last year's obscene beatdown at the hands of Clemson? Things have gotten so dire, so quickly for Florida State that even Joey can't pick them against Wake Forest. 2021 Week 2 Recap - Florida State Shocked, Pittsburgh Breaks the Streak, and Several Key Injuries
We knew that Week 2 in the ACC would include someone losing to an FCS team....we just didn't know who, when, or how. Well... Florida State lost in excruciatingly painful fashion, and we should really start to question what we thought we knew about them at this time last week. Pittsburgh scored more points than Tennessee did on Saturday, which was good, but their overall performance left a few things to be desired. NC State lost convincingly to an average Mississippi State team, leaving us wondering exactly how that happened. Miami just barely found a way to survive against App State. Boston College won the battle against UMass, but may have lost the war in losing Phil Jurkovec for an extended period following a wrist injury. All of that, plus weekly awards, a couple of listener questions get answered, and MORE! 2021 Week 2 Preview - Upsets Ahoy, or Taking Care of Business?
The guys are back previewing Week 2 in the ACC, as the conference looks to follow-up a less-than-ideal Week 1 by getting back on track with a full slate of out-of-conference games, including: - Pittsburgh is only a slight favorite in Knoxville against a really underwhelming Tennessee fan -- the Panthers are going to dominate here...right?!? - NC State heads to Starkville for a really interesting matchup against Mike Leach's Mississippi State team, where the Wolfpack will try to contain the Bulldogs' Air Raid offense. - Can Miami and Virginia Tech avoid the huge emotional letdowns in matchups they should win comfortably? - The ACC has 6 games against FCS opponents this week, including two that could legitimately end up as fireable offenses if the ACC squad were to lose....so, is anyone losing this week? 2021 Week 1 Recap - Disappointing Finishes for Clemson & Miami, Virginia Tech in the Coastal Driver's Seat, and Downright Embarrassment for Georgia Tech & Duke
The guys got together to recap the action from an eventful Week 1 in the ACC, including: Clemson's loss to Georgia might just point to a little bit more mortality from them than we've seen in recent years. The issue with Miami's loss to Alabama isn't the "what", it's the "how". Florida State looked SIGNIFICANTLY improved in an overtime loss to a high-caliber Notre Dame team. Virginia Tech's win over North Carolina taught us quite a bit about both programs and what they'll be capable of this year. Georgia Tech lost to Northern Illinois, and Joey's pretty much done with the Geoff Collins era. Lots of teams in the conference took care of their business and won comfortably! 2021 Week 1 Preview - Clemson-Georgia, UNC-Virginia Tech, and a WHOLE Lotta Locks
At long last, it's time to talk about actual football as the 2021 ACC Football season gets started! We previewed all 13 (!!!) games on this weekend's slate involving ACC teams, including: North Carolina visits Virginia Tech to kick off conference play within the ACC, and there's plenty of good reason that the spread projects this game to be as close as it does... Clemson takes on an extremely talented georgia team in Charlotte in a game that should set the tone for the rest of the season and the chase for a College Football Playoff berth....unless it doesn't? Miami gets a shot at taking down Alabama, and we're here to tell you why this game may well be closer than you think. Georgia Tech is an 18-point favorite against literally anyone, and yet that's not as crazy as it sounds after the last couple of years. Plus, another new pick-tracking game, Mike's got a LOT of pent-up locks he needs to get out, other picks we're interested in this weekend, and much more! More importantly, which ones are we interested in betting? 2021 Duke Preview (feat. Steve Wiseman) - David Cutcliffe's Last Stand, or a Bounce-Back Campaign?
We wrap up our Season Previews series with a look at the Duke Blue Devils in 2021, with some help from our friend Steve Wiseman (@stevewisemanNC) of the Herald-Sun and the Raleigh News-Observer. There was plenty to discuss, including: Is it time for Duke and David Cutcliffe to go their separate ways, and if not, what type of season would expedite that divorce? Will Gunnar Holmberg be able to limit turnovers better than Chase Brice did in 2020? There's no clear returning star on the defensive line -- but that's not a problem, historically, in Durham. All of this, plus a look at a tough schedule, record predictions, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

2021 NC State Preview (feat. Matt Carter) - Continuing to Build in Raleigh
As we near the end of our Season Previews series, we brought on Matt Carter from The Wolfpacker (@TheWolfpacker) on the Rivals network to preview NC State's upcoming 2021 campaign. We hit on various topics of note in Raleigh, including: Perceptions and narratives around Dave Doeren and the Wolfpack program are all accurate, depending on how you want to frame them. What's the ceiling for this offense (with all of its returning production) if Devin Leary is able to stay healthy for the entire season? Just how good can this defense be, even after the loss of Alim McNeil up front? All of that, plus a look at a workable schedule, record predictions, and MORE! 2021 Virginia Tech Preview (feat. Paul VanWagoner & Andrew Alix) - Good Year or Goodbye for Justin Fuente?
We continue our Season Previews with a look at Mike's Hokies, as we're joined by his ESPN Blacksburg colleagues Paul VanWagoner (@PaulVWags) and Andrew Alix (@AndrewAlixRadio) in one of the most ambitious crossover events of all time. There was a ton to discuss, INCLUDING: What will it take this year for Justin Fuente to keep his job, following a postseason press conference where the AD announced he wouldn't be fired last year? Braxton Burmeister is an impressive athlete, but can he refine his passing enough to ensure balance within the Hokies' offense? Is this the best receiving corps in the ACC? Year 1 under Justin Hamilton saw the defense struggle but also show flashes of greatness -- can they be more consistent in Year 2? 2021 North Carolina Preview (feat. Lauren Brownlow) - Tar Heels' Time to Shine?
Our Season Previews continue, as we're visited by the incredible Lauren Brownlow (@LEBrownlow) of 99.9 The Fan and WRALSportsFan.com to preview the Tar Heels in 2021. The media's preseason favorite in the Coastal still has questions to answer though, including: What development is needed from Sam Howell to keep up the offensive production? Just how important is Tennessee RB transfer Ty Chandler to the offense this year? Can the defense put it all together in Year 3 under Jay Bateman? PLUS, a somewhat tricky schedule, win predictions, who's got UNC heading to Charlotte, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

2021 Louisville Preview (feat. Mark Ennis) - The Roller Coaster Ride Continues
We're coming down the stretch of our Season Previews series, as this time we visit with Mark Ennis (@MarkEnnis) from The Drive on 93.9 The Ville to discuss the ACC's newest members as they attempt to bounce back from a tough 2020 campaign, including: Scott Satterfield and his staff didn't follow up 2019's 8-5 finish particularly well, finishing 4-7, with Satterfield then getting caught interviewing for the South Carolina job. Is Scott Satterfield really already on the hot seat going into Year 3? Can Malik Cunningham take a significant step forward and reduce his turnovers to help elevate a new supporting cast of skill talent? Is Year 3 when the defense will finally start to really gel under Bryan Brown? All of this, plus a schedule that makes Louisville one of the conference's biggest wild cards this year, record predictions, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! 2021 Wake Forest Preview (feat. Conor O'Neill) - Set Up for Success, and We Shouldn't Be Surprised
We continue our Season Previews series with a visit to Conor O'Neill (@ConorONeillFA) in Winston-Salem, as we preview the Steamin' Deacs in 2021: How long will Dave Clawson realistically stay at Wake Forest? Sam Hartman enters his ~16th year in the program, with most of his supporting cast returning. What does that mean for the Deacs' offense this fall? Does the schedule set up in a way that lends itself towards Wake making another bowl? All of this, plus record predictions, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! 2021 Georgia Tech Preview (feat. Kelly Quinlan) - What's Important Now for Geoff Collins?
We continue our Season Previews with a look at Joey's Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, with some help in the form of a visit from JacketsOnline.com's Kelly Quinlan (@Kelly_Quinlan). We enter Year 3 of the Geoff Collins era on the Flats with much to discuss, including: We always knew it would take some time to rebuild Georgia Tech's offense after moving away from Paul Johnson's spread option scheme -- but how much longer should this realistically take? Jeff Sims had some major highs and lows in 2020 as a true freshman -- what will it take for him to take the next step this year? With lots of talent and continuity, will the secondary return to its 2019 levels of productivity, or continue the slump it saw in 2020? What's even a reasonable expectation record-wise against one of the toughest schedules in all of college football? All of that, plus record predictions, and MORE! 2021 Florida State Preview (feat. James Coleman) - Remembering Bobby Bowden, and a Revisiting "The Standard"
Our Season Previews series continues, this time with a visit from former Florida State fullback James Coleman (@BigGameJames_36). Following his former coach's passing, James reminisces for a while about some of his favorite memories and moments from playing for Bobby Bowden, before previewing the Noles' upcoming season, including: Mike Norvell has some major standards to live up to in Year 2, particularly considering how his predecessor was treated The QB situation in Tallahassee probably isn't as cloudy as we're being led to believe... Even with a difficult schedule, a bowl game is the bare minimum for this team. All of that, plus record predictions, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! 2021 UVA Preview (feat. Justin Ferber) - Which Was the Outlier...2019 or 2020?
We continue our season preview series with a visit to Charlottesville and our old friend Justin Ferber (@Justin_Ferber) from CavsCorner.com on the Rivals network, who helped us to preview the Cavaliers' 2021 campaign, including: - There are competing mindsets in the UVA fan base regarding whether to be optimistic about the Hoos' final record this year....so, which one is more right? - Bronco Mendenhall enters Year 6, having really impressed us and generally having outperformed expectations from when he was hired. - Will Brennan Armstrong and Wayne Taulapapa be able to take significant steps towards bolstering Virginia's rushing attack? (Aside from Armstrong's improv, of course...) - The defense gave up TONS of big plays in the passing game in 2020...why will (or won't) that improve? 2021 Clemson Preview (feat. William Qualkinbush) - No Trevor Lawrence, No Travis Etienne...No Problem!
Our team previews series continues with a visit to William Qualkinbush (@QualkTalk) of 105.5 The Roar in Upstate South Carolina, who's back discussing the six-time defending ACC Champions. There's plenty to discuss coming into this year, including: Trevor Lawrence is gone, but "DJU" stepped in for a couple of games last year and proved what he's capable of. With minimal depth behind him, will he be able to continue that level of production for a full season? Even with lots of offensive skill talent headed to the NFL, this is just looking like another reloading year for the Tigers on offense. Could this really be Clemson's best defensive line under Dabo Swinney? Should we all look at this as just a one-game regular season at this point? 2021 Boston College Preview (feat. Dan Rubin) - Continued Progress in Year 2?
The guys continue the Team Previews series with a visit to Dan Rubin (@BCDanRubin) of BCEagles.com to preview year 2 of Jeff Hafley's tenure in Chestnut Hill, including: Phil Jurkovec put together an impressive first season after transferring from Notre Dame -- what worked so well, so quickly? In all, the Eagles' offense loses one important piece...and yet everyone's feeling great about improvement over last season. The offense took a major step forward in 2020, while the defense took a considerable step back -- is there reason for hope entering this season? It sounds a bit crazy, but....is an 11-1 finish TRULY on the table for Boston College? All of this, plus record predictions, and MORE! Rate and subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify! 2021 Syracuse Preview (feat. Nate Mink) - Regression to the Mean, or More of the Same?
Team previews resume, as this time we caught up with Nate Mink (@MinkNate) of Syracuse.com to talk about the Orange in 2021: - The on-field results over Dino Babers' tenure haven't been consistently great, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's on the hot seat heading into this fall. - Tommy DeVito is back...but not necessarily the returning starter? - Will the Orange defense continue to be a sore spot, or were there some subtle improvements last year to build on into this year? - How is it possible that the out-of-conference schedule went from relatively easy to relatively difficult in just 3 years? 2021 Pittsburgh Preview (feat. Jim Hammett) - Pitt's Next Step, or Narduzzi's Swan Song?
Our team previews series continues, as this time we visit with long-time friend of the program Jim Hammett (@JimHammett) from Panther-Lair.com to discuss Pittsburgh's interesting upcoming season, including: Pat Narduzzi enters Year 7 as the Panthers' head coach, still trying to break out from the 7-8 win per year rhythm the program has been in the whole time. It's time to ask the annual question -- is there heat on Narduzzi to show improved results this fall? The Panthers' out-of-conference schedule sets up in a way that may enable them to do something they haven't done in a long while, as Jim drops a not-so-great statistic that blew both of our minds. Kenny Pickett returns for his thirteenth and final season, and for his third year of working with OC Mark Whipple. Combined with a ton of returning talent on offense, can that duo finally make some magic in a way they haven't been able to do the past two years? The defense sees lots of turnover from some extremely talented players -- but that's also where Pittsburgh has recruited best over the past few years. Is this a defensive rebuild, or reload? We preview what looks to be a pivotal season in Manny Diaz's tenure, including: How bad is the Alabama game looking, realistically? After that, the season *should* all come down to one single divisional game -- and Cam's feeling good about it. Is Manny Diaz's playcalling enough to fix some of the Canes' defensive struggles from last year? Can the Hurricanes put it all together, win the Coastal Division, and make a New Year's Six game this year? All of this, and MUCH more as we begin our official preparations for the ACC in 2021! With his name coming up frequently in coaching searches lately, what is the likelihood that Tony Elliott is the next Clemson assistant to leave for a head coaching position? 2020 Bowl Recaps - The ACC Goes 0-for-6...Cause for Concern?
Mike and Joey got together to recap the ACC's bowl games, which...really could have gone better for the conference. - Clemson shocked us both, not just losing, but by getting blown out by Ohio State. What went wrong for the Tigers, and what did the Buckeyes do to dominate the game so handily? - Notre Dame lost to Alabama by 17, but never felt particularly threatening to win the game outright. What held the Irish back from being able to threaten Alabama, and how far are they away, realistically? - A shorthanded North Carolina went toe-to-toe with CFP snub Texas A&M, and put together a really promising showing while coming up short late in the game. What does this mean for the Tar Heels headed into next year? - Miami had every reason to quit after going down early against Oklahoma State and then losing D'Eriq King to injury, but was able to claw their way back and nearly completed the comeback to win. What should we learn from that, and how impactful is the King injury? All of this, plus looks at the Gator and Mayo bowls, what comes next from Basketball Conference, and MORE!

Can Dave Doeren's team top off a really strong 2020 campaign with a bowl victory? - Finally, North Carolina heads to South Beach to take on Texas A&M in the Orange Bowl. Will several key opt-outs spell doom for the Tar Heels, or might the Aggies struggle with motivation after missing out on the playoff? All of that, plus Picks of the Week, and MORE!

What do those transfers mean for their individual teams? - The ACC has named a new commissioner to replace John Swafford, and he comes highly regarded in general! The guys got together to preview a Week 14 in the ACC, where we're starting to question some teams' motivations, including: - In our final ranked matchup of the regular season, North Carolina heads to Miami with a potential Orange Bowl berth on the line. Each team has significant flaws that are ripe for being exploited -- which team will get it done? - Virginia heads to Blacksburg to take on Mike's Hokies, looking to make it two wins in a row for the Commonwealth Cup. With everything going on around the program, is there reason to believe that the Hokies are in good enough shape to pull this off and potentially save Justin Fuente's job? - Wake Forest heads to Louisville to take on a Cardinals team whose head coach has spent the last week talking more about the South Carolina job than his current one. With Tutu Atwell having opted out, will Louisville really be ready to play this one? All of this, plus DOUBLE-BARREL PICKS OF THE WEEK, and MORE!

Mike and Joey got together to recap the Week 13 action from the ACC, including: - Clemson and Notre Dame both won comfortably, but the guys didn't feel particularly inspired by either team's performances...are there causes for concern as both programs look ahead towards the Conference Championship Game and potential College Football Playoff appearances? - NC State took care of Georgia Tech in Raleigh, avenging last year's loss to the Yellow Jackets, but Georgia Tech continues showing signs of development. - The guys weren't sure that Virginia should've been favored against Boston College, but the 'Hoos took care of business and ran up a ton of offense on the way to beating the Eagles. - Miami hasn't historically fared particularly well in Durham late in the year, but made quick work of a Duke team that might be getting worse each week. All of this, plus weekly awards, and MORE!
December 7, 2020

All of this, plus Picks of the Week, and MORE!

2020 Week 12 Recap: Notre Dame Passes Another Test, Clemson Victimizes Pittsburgh, and #goacc Moment of the Week Candidates Galore
The guys are back after a long Thanksgiving weekend, recapping a fun and interesting set of ACC games, including: - Notre Dame and North Carolina looked to be a shootout in the first quarter, but quickly became a display of the Irish defense's prominence, and left us realizing just how high the ceiling is for them. - Clemson finally got to play again after several weeks off, and made quick work of an outmanned Pittsburgh team. - Joey was in attendance at the Georgia Tech-Duke game, and it was a total mess...that made for some really brilliant television! All of that, plus weekly awards (and there were no shortage of candidates for those) and much, much more!

2020 Week 12 Preview: A Black Friday Banger, Clemson Looking to Prove a Point, and Lots of Betting Value
The guys are back, previewing a Thanksgiving week slate of ACC games that looks a little different than in most years. Instead of several games against out-of-conference rivals, we're blessed this year with a slate of exclusively in-conference action, including: - We kick things off on the afternoon of Black Friday, when #2 Notre Dame pays a visit to #19 North Carolina for their final test before an inevitable appearance in the ACC Championship Game. Will the Irish continue rolling, or will the Tar Heels' offense be enough to pull off an upset? - Clemson hasn't played in weeks, and Dabo Swinney is starting to lash out against the media in frustration. Pittsburgh is headed to Death Valley this weekend to take on an angry Tigers team looking to prove a point. Don't overthink this one. - Louisville is looking to keep the momentum going on a trip to Boston College where the Eagles are an incredibly small favorite. Are the Cardinals really on the same level as Boston College right now? - Georgia Tech hasn't played since Halloween day, and is set to face a Duke team that won't have played in 3 full weeks. Who knows what to expect from these teams? All of this, plus a look at the new College Football Playoff rankings, Picks of the Week, and MORE!

2020 Week 11 Recap: Clemson-FSU Cancellation Fallout, and What Comes Next for Virginia Tech?
The guys are back, recapping a very eventful Week 11 of ACC action, despite only having 4 games to discuss. The biggest things to discuss were: - Clemson-FSU was cancelled just hours before the game was due to kick off, and the resulting bickering through the media hasn't really made anyone look any better. - Syracuse looked absolutely listless on Friday night against a Louisville team that's struggled so far this year...and it's probably time for us to have some more discussions about the potential of moving on from Dino Babers, and whether that would even fix anything! - Virginia Tech hit a new low in getting blown out by Pittsburgh on Saturday, and Mike gave a TON of insight on this being the beginning of the end of the Justin Fuente era in Blacksburg. All of this, plus weekly awards, and MORE!

Mike and Joey are back again to preview some Week 11 ACC action, joined once again by Cam Underwood (@UnderwoodSports) of StateoftheU.com this week! The Georgia Tech-Miami and Wake Forest-Duke games have been postponed, but there's still plenty of interesting action on the schedule for this weekend, including: - Syracuse kicks off the weekend with a trip to Louisville, where a pair of 1-6 teams are looking to finish their seasons on a positive note. - Clemson is back after a bye week, and so is Trevor Lawrence, as the Tigers head to Tallahassee to take on a degrading Florida State team...and let's just say that Cam isn't too upset about watching Florida State get pummeled. - Virginia Tech tries to get their season back on track with a trip to Pittsburgh, which hasn't exactly been the most successful road trip for them historically. All of this, PLUS a quick look at Bowling Green's game this week (hint: it didn't go great), picks of the week, and MORE! The guys are back, recapping a Week 10 in the ACC that had plenty of intrigue coming in and didn't disappoint: - Virginia Tech had Miami where they wanted them, and couldn't finish the drill in the fourth quarter. What does that mean for Justin Fuente's time in Blacksburg? - North Carolina and Wake Forest combined for over 1,300 yards of offense and 112 points in a wild, fun track meet of a game! - Notre Dame avoided a hangover after the program's biggest win in a decade last week, and continued rolling over their former QB and his new Boston College team. All of this, plus weekly awards, and MORE!

2020 Week 9 Recap: Notre Dame Takes Down Clemson, Justin Fuente is Officially on the Hot Seat, and NC State Nearly Knocks Off Miami
The guys are back, recapping a week in the ACC that gave us a TON to talk about! - Notre Dame defeated Clemson in one of the best regular season games in ACC history, needing two overtimes and making a ton of plays along the way to make it happen. - Virginia Tech was a huge favorite at home on Saturday against Liberty, and lost on the heels of a disappointing defensive performance and a couple of rough coaching blunders. - NC State largely had Miami outplayed on Friday night, but the Hurricanes managed to steal a win in the final minutes, as both quarterbacks (including Bailey Hockman) played OUTSTANDING football games. Both teams are coming off of bye weeks...is an upset in the cards for the Wolfpack? - Joey's got a fascination with big underdogs again, this week involving Duke (against North Carolina) and Liberty (against Virginia Tech). Will he ever learn? All of this, plus picks of the week, and MORE!

Mailbag Time! Championship Berth Tiebreakers, Potential Coaches on the Move, and Expectations vs. Reality in 2020
We took some time to break up the midseason grind by going through a number of listener questions, taking inventory on the ACC in 2020 beyond. We discussed, among other things: - Should Pittsburgh look to move on from Pat Narduzzi? If so...WOULD they? And if they did, would an overcrowded coaching market be a major disadvantage for that program? - Notre Dame hosts Clemson this weekend. If they lose, they'll be tied with Miami at 1-loss apiece in ACC play. If that holds....who's going to Charlotte, again? - Which coaches are candidates to retire or leave on their own accord, and why does the ACC not figure to have much coaching turnover in the next couple of years? All of this, and MORE!
November 3, 2020
2020 Week 8 Recap: Lawrence-less Clemson Survives Boston College, Virginia Takes Down North Carolina, and MORE!
The guys are back, recapping an extremely eventful week in the ACC, which saw... - Clemson ended up without Trevor Lawrence, and Boston College got almost every break they could've asked for...but DJ Uiagalelei, Travis Etienne, and the rest of the Tigers still managed the comeback win. - Virginia had a great game plan and executed it even better to pull off the upset against North Carolina...and Mack Brown continues to struggle in Charlottesville in his career. - Virginia Tech gave up almost 550 yards, and yet Mike was still impressed with the Hokies' defensive effort against Louisville. - Georgia Tech lost by 18 to Notre Dame, and Joey is perfectly OK with that! All of this, plus weekly awards, and MORE!
November 2, 2020
2020 Week 8 Preview: Home 'Dogs Howling?
The guys are back, previewing 5 conference games slated for this weekend, along with a non-conference game that might end poorly for the ACC team. Joey is in the Picks Penalty Box thanks to an embarrassing track record of picks so far this season, but is still telling you what he'd do with these games, so that you still know what picks to fade. The games discuss include: - North Carolina heads to Charlottesville to take on a Virginia team that has been very competent, but not able to pull an upset just yet. Is this the week that changes? - Virginia Tech heads to Louisville, trying to bounce back from a rough loss to Wake Forest while the Cardinals try to keep building momentum. - Notre Dame and Clemson are huge favorites over Georgia Tech and Boston College, but is this a lookahead spot for either (or both) with their head-to-head matchup coming next weekend? All of that, plus Picks of the Week, and MORE!
October 29, 2020
2020 Week 7 Recap: Wake Forest Upsets Virginia Tech, Pitt's Superweapon Backfires, and Joey's Getting Annoyed with Georgia Tech
The guys are recapping a busy week of ACC football, where we learned a good amount from every game that was played, including: - The Steamin' Deacons shocked Virginia Tech on Saturday, overwhelming them in the trenches en route to pulling a pretty major upset over the ranked Hokies. - Clemson thought they were in for a walk in the park against Syracuse, except the Orange hung around and gave the Tigers a scare late in the third quarter. - Pittsburgh was a trendy pick to make the Notre Dame game close, and Joey even picked them outright -- but the Fighting Irish had different ideas, clearly. - Georgia Tech is starting to look like a lot more talk than substance, and Joey is getting pretty fed up with it. All of this, plus weekly awards, and MORE!
October 26, 2020
2020 Week 7 Preview: Saucy Picks Only
The guys are back, previewing a Week 7 in the ACC that has the potential to get a little bit weird, including: - Pittsburgh is a double-digit home underdog to a top-5 Notre Dame team, and yet... - NC State is finally ranked this week and playing against rival UNC, but find themselves as huge underdogs? - Florida State and Louisville find themselves both in transition, and playing each other in a nooner this weekend. All of that, plus Syracuse getting 46 points, Georgia Tech in Chestnut Hill, Picks of the Week, and MORE!
October 22, 2020
2020 Week 6 Recap: Florida State Shocks UNC, Notre Dame Survives Louisville, and Clemson Demolishes Georgia Tech
The guys are back to recap Week 6 in the ACC, which saw multiple outright upsets among other interesting outcomes, including: - Florida State came up with the first big win of the Mike Norvell era, knocking off North Carolina in Tallahassee...so do we finally feel a bit worse about the Tar Heels? - Notre Dame and Louisville played a weirdly slow, low-possession, low-scoring game on an extremely windy day in South Bend, and the Irish managed to hold off the Cardinals. So is.....Louisville getting better? - Clemson won big over Georgia Tech. That's not a problem. Joey's issue is Georgia Tech's role in the degree of blowout we saw. PLUS, Miami tried to lose (but Pittsburgh wouldn't let them), Virginia Tech bounced back really nicely against Boston College, NC State won (but is worse off for it), awards of the week, and MORE!
October 20, 2020

Can the Tar Heels stave off a letdown? - Virginia Tech is a huge favorite at home against Boston College...but is that warranted? And just generally, what *are* the Eagles right now? - Miami hosts Pittsburgh, in an attempt to avoid a hangover after a loss to Clemson, as the Panthers try to get their season back on track. - Joey's picking Georgia Tech to cover against Clemson. You should probably fade that pick. All of this, plus NC State-Duke, UVA-Wake Forest, Syracuse a home underdog to Liberty, Picks of the Week, and MORE!
October 15, 2020
2020 Week 5 Recap: Clemson's Still Clemson, Questions About Louisville and Pittsburgh, and...Looks Like We Found North Carolina!
The guys are back, recapping a busy and eventful Week 5 in the ACC, including: - Clemson proved, once again, that they're just on a different level from anyone else in the ACC. This time, it was a top-10 Miami team who was on the business end. - North Carolina won in a shootout with Virginia Tech, where we FINALLY saw the Tar Heels squad we were expecting this year. - Georgia Tech beat Louisville on Friday night, which is great for the Yellow Jackets, but perhaps more importantly raised a LOT of questions about the Cardinals in year 2 under Scott Satterfield. All of that, plus questions about Pittsburgh after a disappointing overtime loss to Boston College, Florida State might be on to something with Jordan Travis, weekly awards (including a new one!), and MORE!

The guys are back, recapping a Week 4 that saw a lot of games go much differently than expected (which was reflected in the questionable record on weekly picks), including... -- Pittsburgh was a huge home favorite, and Kenny Pickett played as well as we've seen him play in a long time...and they lost to NC State? -- Virginia Tech continues to weather a storm of missing personnel, surviving in a road win against Duke to avenge last year's loss. -- North Carolina needed some late-game heroics to hold off a Boston College rally and preserve the win, and it might be time to start asking questions about the Tar Heels... All of that, plus we give out weekly awards, and MORE!
October 5, 2020
2020 Week 4 Preview: Big Spreads Galore, and a New Take on ACC Picks of the Week
The guys are back to preview a Week 4 that's light on ACC action, and even lighter on games we expect to be competitive as they each feature double-digit spreads. - Virginia Tech travels to Duke, looking to avenge last year's embarrassing home loss against a struggling Blue Devils squad. - North Carolina finally plays again, heading to Chestnut Hill to face a Boston College team that almost lost to Texas State last week. Will rust be an issue again for the Tar Heels after a long layoff from playing? - Pittsburgh hosts an NC State team that has major concerns on both sides of the ball -- but how much separation can the Panthers get? - Clemson hosts Virginia in a lookahead spot, as the Tigers play Miami next week in prime time. Can the 'Hoos take advantage and make this a game? All of that, plus -- how do we handle Picks of the Week with a bunch of huge spreads that we don't really love?

2020 Week 3 Recap: Yes, You Should Be Concerned -- Miami's...Good?

All of that, plus weekly awards and MORE!
September 28, 2020
2020 Week 3 Preview: Florida State at Miami, Louisville at Pittsburgh, and Virginia & Virginia Tech Finally Get Started
The guys are back, previewing a densely-packed Week 3 in the ACC, where 5 of 6 games on the slate are in-conference action. - Headlining the weekend (and hosting College GameDay) is Miami, who welcomes arch-rival Florida State to town. Will Florida State look better than they did two weeks ago against Georgia Tech, or will Miami continue rolling with another big win? - Louisville had a number of flaws exposed last week, and now looks to right the ship with a trip to Pittsburgh. The Panthers are solid defensively, and Louisville's defense seems capable of making any offense look good -- can Pittsburgh take advantage? - After multiple weeks of cancellations, Virginia and Virginia Tech are finally ready to get their seasons underway, even though Virginia Tech's roster situation has looked incredibly dicey over the last few days. Can each team get started off on the right foot? All of this, plus we make picks of the week, and MORE!
September 24, 2020
2020 Week 2 Recap: Miami Dominates in Louisville, Boston College and NC State Get Wins, and MORE!
Week 2 of ACC play is in the books, and things did NOT go the way that Joey and Mike thought they did -- they were a combined 2-10 against the spread and just 4-3 straight-up in picks this weekend! That's because: - Miami proved too much for Louisville to handle, which was a really good sign for the 'Canes to go with some not-so-good signs for the Cardinals... - Pittsburgh had major issues on special teams and missed opportunities on several occasions, but still disposed of Syracuse without much issue (and that's not a great sign for the Orange). - Boston College kicked off the Jeff Hafley era with a win over Duke, although it's still hard to say whether the Eagles or Blue Devils are particularly functional at this point. - NC State broke a 6-game conference game losing streak in hanging on to win against Wake Forest, despite some unexpected quarterback turbulence. - Georgia Tech played UCF somewhat closely for a 28-point loss but still has some major issues to work out, including some majorly detrimental freshman moments from the largely-dynamic Jeff Sims. All of this, plus we give awards to some larger-scale trends in the conference, we name teams and players of the week, and MORE!
September 20, 2020
2020 Week 2 Preview: Miami at Louisville Headlines the ACC Football Weekend
The guys are back, moving on to Week 2 in the ACC, which still features several projected blowouts in nonconference games but a few key in-conference matchups: - Headlining the weekend (and hosting College GameDay) is #17 Miami at #18 Louisville, where we'll learn a ton about both teams, helping us to better understand the conference as a whole moving forward. - Georgia Tech hosts #14 UCF, hoping to follow-up last week's performance and continue showing progress in Year 2 of the Geoff Collins era. - Wake Forest is an underdog in Raleigh against NC State...and that doesn't seem quite right. - The Jeff Hafley era at Boston College begins in Durham against David Cutcliffe's well-established Duke program, and it's extremely hard to say what we'll get from either side in this matchup. All of that, plus ACC Picks of the Week, and MORE!

PLUS, we hand out the #goacc Moment of the Week, the Brian VanGorder Memorial "You Tried" Award, make some changes to the Team/Player of the Week awards, and MORE!
