Riley, Doc Chris’ oldest daughter swims for the University of Texas, the top NCAA swim program in the United States. Taylor, the Courtney’s youngest daughter is a Senior in high school and is in the process of choosing which collegiate scholarship offer she will accept for the 2023-24 school year. Chris shares with the BC Poppas what it is like to be a parent of two elite athletes and what he values in coaches and coaching.

Alex talks about what life was like coming to Los Angeles from Puerto Rico as a fifteen year old who couldn’t speak English. Alex, who has always been a great storyteller, shares about his road as a teenage baseball player, being scouted by MLB scouts in High School, getting drafted by the Phillies organization, college ball, and even stories coaching his own kids in his sport while being an associate area scout for the Seattle Mariners. A lot of fun stories with gems to catch if you are a parent or a coach. In August of last year (2019) Christian joined Jon J, Jojo (N2L Region 6 Director), Epzky (N2L National Director), and a team of N2L Leader Scholars on a trip to Giumaras Island. There they we were able to connect with young men residing at the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (Children in Conflict with the Law). Christian, aka Kuya Chris, was able to hold 2 days of a Hip Hop/Music/Recording workshop.
