Survival of the fittest - A term made famous in the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, suggested that organisms best adjusted to their environment are the most successful in surviving.

The historic stadium at Ahmedabad has always been one for records and landmarks, now known as the Shri Narendra Modi-G Stadium (or that’s what we hope it’ll be called) it threw up a further few landmarks. Amongst them was the record for the shortest test match since the World War 2, while the Test match was Short and Sweet (any reference to any beardo is purely incidental), we decided to discuss it in-length because unlike the 3rd umpire we aren’t in any hurry. After the fantastic Victory down under, the spirits were high!! The Morale had been boosted!! And the warm glow of Gabba still lingered when we got to Chennai. The stage was set for India to spin a web around this English team, but it didn’t quite go as per plan.

Ab Joe hogaya so hogaya… but we thought we must discuss the Root cause of this defeat.

Along the way we stumble across a few difficult questions -

· Did Joe Root really say “Kabhi kabhi lagta hai apunich bhagwan hai”??

· Is the Pant-Pujara partnership better than the partnership of Guddu and Bablu from Mirzapur??
