Craig is an author of a fantasy adventure series. He's new to writing and publishing, so we talk about both and the exciting storyline of his book, The Kint.

Fran is a non-fiction and literary fiction novelist with a background in journalism. She has published eight non-fiction books and two novels and is currently writing another two.
We talk about the art of writing and publishing. Fran puts nonfiction into her fiction, ensuring her 

themes are passionate and relatable, making sure her opinions/ or the character's opinions on important matters happening in our world are made clear through her fiction novels.

First, I got confused and didn't realise at the time that this was my last podcast for #NaPodPoMo, and then we chatted about dog breeds. Yep, it's gonna be one of those shows. 

We do get to some hot #fantasy #novels and some #hot and #spicy #BDSM and then get into my genre and go #dark. And to think this #lady started her writing career off with sweet romances. Nah, there is nothing too sweet about any of Victoria's books. They all have intense drama and messages and are all page-turners. We discuss what goes into #writing a #book and the stages it needs to go to until it's finally on the shelves, and I ask Victoria how she can jump from one fiction #genre #series, write the book and then start on a new book for a different #fiction series.

First, a poet, now a contracted author, next - going indie. I had such a laugh with Samantha. If anyone can call their debut series, Menopausal Superheros, has to have a good sense of humour. It's about time someone wrote about not being your average superhero and not your average size. I love that Samantha was willing to go out of the box, which paid off. Find out what else she's up to, and we covered so many different topics I can't go through them all.

There is a big connection between role-playing games and writing fiction; Sean will happily explain it as he enjoys doing both. Sean is also a blogger and published in an anthology; another is coming out next year. He also has his debut fiction novella coming out early next year, which he's excited about, and I'm excited for him. So much so, that I make sure to give him a few marketing tips. Sean has been a part of the writing community for a while now and even hosts, writing sprints, which are very well-received and much-needed.

We also discuss, Choose Your Own Adventure. Whatever happened to those books?

I love doing this show for many reasons. Meeting new people, finding out how much we have in common, and, my favourite, being stunned when I learn the hobbies of these closet writers. (we are all closeted. Writing is a lonely profession, and many of us suffer behind closed doors and alone) 

I hope my podcast isn't just entertaining and gives a platform for all indie artists. I hope it also sends the message that you are not alone. We all suffer from time to time, and how we handle our mental and physical state determines how we cope.  

What do you do when you have jotters full of plot bunnies (notes and ideas for stories) Well, you choose your favourite and then write the book and then start trying to get it published. Shaine decided to take the self-published route. But she didn't stop there.  She took a gamble.

When Fay came on Behind The Pen as a guest, I thought we would talk about her poetry. But it turned out that Fay was very open and honest about her mental health and the daily struggles she has to cope with.  That's where the poetry comes in. Her work is so expressive and emotional. You can feel the pain but also the hope.

Rosemary has been published in several anthologies, and more will come out next year. She loves to write short stories and loves, I mean obsessed, might be the word, with 'My Little Pony' and unicorns. She loves writing in the fantasy genre. In fact, she's a huge fan of fantasy and not just literature. Rosemary loves D&D, sadly, I couldn't get excited about this as I'm not an online gamer, but you will find her on Discord as she's one of the moderators for Brandon Sanderson's official fan club on Discord.

I love how Bob got the idea for his first publication, then writing in the genre of SteamPunk, and then having five podcasts. I'm very impressed.

Bob has one of those rare attributes where his sarcasm about himself turns into comedy. We both had a lot of fun in this chat, and although I tried to teach him a little about marketing, as they say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and why should you when his method is clearly working?

I have often said that creatives are not just talented in one artistry alone. Jill has played a musical instrument. She used to sing in a choir and was into sports and writing. But she didn't write her own book until she got fed up with reading the same romance plots and so she decided to write the book she wanted to read, and I think you might be shocked when you hear what her first book of a trilogy is about.

 You can expect an in-depth conversation when you sit down to chat with Ritu. She is quite the philosopher and has no problems talking to people about creativity, art and how a car accident changed her outlook and mindset and put her on the path she's currently on. She currently has two books out and plans to publish another in Jan, and another is nearly finished.  She's also an award-winning filmmaker.
