The long awaited episode 6 ! This is a special one because it was our first interactive episode recorded live in the presence of an awesome crowd at the UCT Student Y.

In this episode we talk about why we started the Bellwether Digest and Podcast. We discuss the vision for the magazine and ultimately what drove us to plunge into the deep of artistic expression through writing and podcasting.

In the middle we are joined by Namibian Youtuber, Kovii Muruko, who gives an inspiring perspective of what it took to start her YouTube channel and how she edits and produces authentic and amazing videos all from her phone.

In the end and perhaps the best part of this episode, Mukundi opens up the discussion to our lovely guests through some interesting short interviews.

During his university career he started 2 successful businesses. He sold the one and the second, Delega, specialises in growing small to medium-sized businesses through an array of digital solutions such as professional and quality websites and digital marketing.  

His passion for empowering other through entrepreneurship finds expression in Kickstart Life, a company dedicated to helping students, young adults & entrepreneurs thrive in life by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to realise the full potential. 

He also currently works as an entrepreneurship trainee at VAT IT, a tax return and compliance service provider operating in Sandton. And he offers his services as partnerships specialist at Zee.

Dr. Heather Evans is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Director of Evans Counseling Services LLC, a private group counseling practice in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. She has over 20 years of clinical experience, with a specialization in women’s issues, particularly sexual trauma, sex trafficking, and aftercare of its victims. Heather received a Doctor of Clinical Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her dissertation highlighted complex trauma and post-traumatic growth in victims of domestic sex trafficking. Heather is Co-founder of VAST (Valley Against Sex Trafficking) Coalition in the Lehigh Valley, PA. She is devoted to training and equipping service providers. In 2013, Heather received the Allied Professional Award from Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley for outstanding commitment to victims’ services. Heather is an Adjunct Professor of Global Trauma Recovery Institute of Missio Theological Seminary and travels and leads trips nationally and internationally, with the goal of partnering with and training trauma healing caregivers.

Heather is the author of two books on complex trauma and posttraumatic growth in sex trafficking survivors and the creator of the Voices of Survivors Project.
