Be Mighty Mom

Be Mighty Mom

By Ashley Dion

Be Mighty Mom is about helping moms find each other. By relating to each story and being real. Social media is filled with filters (guilty) and a highlight reel (even more guilty.) This podcast is where we pull back the curtain, hide our faces, and speak our truth.

No topic is avoided, and no shame is spoken. We are mothers getting through each day - let's encourage each other through it.

I never could have prepared myself for how emotional I would be during this interview.

The things I learned and discovered about myself through this conversation will be things I reflect on every single day for the rest of my life.

Parents to autistic children, you definitely need to listen to this one - and share it with your friends and family.

S1 E6 Be Mighty, Sivan H.

In this episode, I had the privilege of speaking to Sivan Hong, a former professor at New York University's Stern School of Business and now a talented author and illustrator of a best-selling children's book series, "The Super Fun Day Books."

She was inspired by her son, who is neurodivergent, to write stories for him. She gathered the courage to share these stories with the world and is inspiring children (and parents) around the globe.

S1 E5 Be Mighty, Heather - Rare Mama Heather

When it comes to being the mom to a child with a rare disease, Heather Mooneyham is an expert. Through the many emotions that came with finding a diagnosis for her daughter, managing to raise two children through the testing phase, and trying to convince her family of her reality, this mama is not afraid of a little advocating. And by little, I mean a lot.

Her story is inspiring, and for me, extremely relatable. Take a listen to her powerful story and how she continues to fight for all three of her children. "Motherhood. Not for the weak."

Flamingos are remarkable birds and while I have been obsessed with them for years, I have never related to them more.

Why? Take a listen, and maybe you'll relate to flamingos too.

Be Mighty Mom is all about embracing our motherhood journey. The good. The bad. The depressing. The exciting. And everything in between.

Here, we are honest, and open, and hope to help other moms lost in the trenches of motherhood a little hope that they are not alone.

Can you relate to her story?

S1 E1 Be Mighty Ashley - My Motherhood Story

S1 E1 Be Mighty Ashley - My Motherhood Story

I had this idea of what motherhood would look like; and like most moms, the reality was much different. However, unlike most mothers, my husband and I were facing an infant with a rare disease that would bring us to our knees many times.

From skin biospies at 4 months old to full body MRI scans at 6 months old and surgery at 10 months, our first born has been through some heavy stuff - and with his rare disease will face heavy stuff for his entire life.

As a toddler he was diagnosed with Autism just 6 days before I gave birth to his baby brother.

Motherhood is a rollercoaster - and while the lows have been very low, these boys always give me something to smile about.
