Time to use another verse out of context to build that building!

There's really a pretty straightforward answer.

It's that time of year when Jeremiah gets taken out of context.

Are we breaking one of the Ten Commandments if we don't worship on Saturday?

This lady took the Gospel to one of the most dangerous and perilous regions of the world -- a region inhabited by cannibals and headhunters who were without hesitation brutally torturing, killing, and eating anyone who came to their land. Yet, as others were leaving because of this unleashed danger and cannibalistic terror, Margaret Stringer was arriving. For 40 years, she served the Lord in this way. You'll be blessed as you listen!

I come to you live from my wreck of a studio in the midst of rearranging! Do you ever do that? You want to feel like a fresh start, so you rearrange all the furniture or the desk or whatever? 

Well, I took a break from that to wrap up 2020. 

It's healthy to ask ourselves questions from time to time because it helps us take a look from the outside. Join me for this post-Thanksgiving episode that looks back on 2020 to help us start looking forward to 2021 and making it all we can for the glory of God!

So here's a question I get a lot: how do I write lyrics? I'm going to give you just a random smattering of ideas, tips, and methods that I use to help jar that creative side loose. Our co-writer Lauri Lou Jones chimes in with some observations of her own as well!

How about we step away from the charged-up situations and see what God's Word has to say about what it means to play favorites? What's the main issue? Is it wrong to notice differences in people? Settle in for a simple discussion from the Bible.

I'll show you the finished product of a process that has taken me most of 2020. I'll also share with you something Ron Hamilton did for me that no one knows about until now.

This is a simple song that a lot of people take for granted. I wanted it to sound "informal," so I made up an arrangement in my head! Join me as I talk you through it.

Another excellent arrangement of this timeless hymn favorite. I'm going through my A Cappella Hymns album, and this one is deceptively simple yet complex. 

I'm walking through a fantastic a cappella arrangement by Don Hart that I recorded on my A Cappella Hymns album. Originally recorded by GLAD, I had to add my own spin on it when the sheet music had other ideas.

I'm starting a new series of going behind the music I've recorded. I'm kicking off the new series with my a cappella arrangement of an all-time favorite hymn, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." Join me as I deconstruct the arrangement and point out some interesting items along the way.

Pastor Tyler Scott joins us for this episode! Working as a pastor in Baton Rouge during the Covid 19 pandemic is a unique task. Brother Scott shares with us some of his thoughts and insights he has gleaned during this time.

Veteran missionary to Cameroon Ben Sinclair joins us for this interesting discussion ranging from how God has used the martyrdom of Charles Wesco to the necessity for the local church to remember her purpose in the midst of quarantines and executive orders.

Pastor Dan Dickerson has been my pastor most of my life. I grew up at Calvary Baptist in Midland, MI, and also graduated from the school there. CBC remains our home church and has been our sending church for all these years. I appreciated this chat about how Calvary is adjusting to the unique situations facing us all.

We also talk a little about whether this crisis is an attack on religious liberty.

First Baptist Church of Goodrich, MI, received a surprise when members started testing positing for the COVID19. Pastor Ben Gonzales was one of them. Even after following all the recommended guidelines and being a healthy person, he still came down with the virus. Today, Ben shares with us his experience and what God has taught him through this.

My wife's grandfather was an example of faithfulness to the Lord in the military and then as a church planter for decades. Seldom recognized for his service to the Lord, he was a quiet, humble man who worked in the fields for His Savior.
