You find out on there that there is no such thing as a bad idea.

All the entrepreneurs who have successful made it in business have at some point or another had a Mentor.

Then for the entrepreneurs going on shark tank – they are looking for a mentor.

Just to guide you on the right path quicker, and save yourself from the wasting a huge amount of time.

One of my mentors who has also become a friend along the way. Witch is even better because they don’t beat around the bush to save from hurting my feeling.

Then if it’s a stupid idea of move – they will say.

Which is what you need in this game.

Not someone who is going to make you feel better and pamper your ego. I haven’t got time for that.

The whole reason for a side hustle is to make some extra money.

Not to give you more work to do, if you wanted that you would just do more hours at your current job.

A side hustle is meant to be a stepping stone.

To be able to earn an extra income to be able to invest or use for something bigger and better.

Lets be honest – nobody wants to go to work, its just something we have to do to be able to afford nice thigs that make our life better.

So having a side hustle to help towards that goal is a huge advantage.

Both my Mum and Dad were hard working people who worked right up to retirement. Im not being lazy – far from it. But I don’t want to do that, Its not a life I want to live.

If there is a slight chance I can work the hours I want to earn the income I need to get by.

That’s me set – and enjoy my time whiles I’m here.

The idea of having set hours I need to go to work is really not for me. Having to turn up and be in a certain place for 8 hours a day, like a temporary caged animal.

Ok a little extreme – but you get my point.

There is a market for everything. I recently found out you can even stud out your tortoise and get paid to do so.

So here I am going to tell you about some side hustles you could start to make some extra income.

Not gold plated, not silver plated – Standard ford escort as the day it was bought with under 30000 miles on the clock.

Ok so you may be thinking, there’s some sort of catch. Of course there is, but not the sort of catch that you would expect to value a car bought for around 10k in 1985 to be able to sell at an auction for 670 thousand pound!

Any other 1985 ford escort of the same spec would be valued more then the price its bought for.

Of course – it’s a classic

Classic cars are making some good money these days.

But this particular 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo came with a story.

A story that can never the replicated ever again.

This story made the value of the car 20 x more than all the others.

The car was bought and owned by Diana Princess Of Wales.

Dianna was married in the royal family in the UK, but the story didn’t end there.

There are a number of conspiracies around the death of Princess Diana.

I think this is what increased the value of the car.

I think a lot can be learnt from this as someone who is selling products online.

Although to many people the Ford Escort is worth 32k the same as the rest, when you have a story behind a product the value of it can increase dramatically.

I offer a book to people wanting to start a business online.

It gets you to question why you want to change your current situation and figure out the reasons you want to start your own business.

This idea I have had for a while. I have tried to explain it to a few people, but they never really looked interested.

So I’m going to tell the world here and let every one share the idea with their friends.

Because I think this could be a great business idea for someone.

This idea has came about through podcasting.

I am constantly telling family members to make a start with something online, you never know what it will turn into one day.

I believe this idea can be done by anyone in the world of any age. There are 12 year old's making a fortune with the power of the internet – There’s no reason why everybody cant do the same.

I think it’s common knowledge that the English are lazy with languages, not everyone.

But I am speaking for myself here too. I only speak English.

However in the UK we have so many different nationalities coming to live in the UK every day.

With the most common language all over the world, it’s a huge benefit to be able to speak English.

Yet many of the foreign mums and dads struggle to speak English in the UK. This has a knock on effect for their kids.

The children struggle more at school and tend to spend their time around the kids that speak the same language.

This is where my idea comes into play.

Children these days use YouTube A LOT!

I mean I met a child with an American accent a while ago that she had picked up from you tube, none of her family were from the US.

This idea is more suited for a mother or a 12 year old child – but also an option for anyone to do.

Create a podcast for the younger generation.

Not only non English speaking children, but all children all over the world.

You can take ideas from Disney and put them into your own words.

You could even make a story up about the pandemic and staying at home using real life experiences.

The ideas could be endless.

The children will listen to the stories at night via your podcast or even in the car on a long journey.

Over time that podcast will grow and so will your personal brand.

This can evolve into a membership site where you can do special stories or videos for the fans.

Even discounts on merchandise for the kids.

Kids love to have their idols on a t shirt – look at the frozen brand from 2013.

That brand is still going strong now.

Working online and meeting new people every day is exciting.

But coming from a career where I used my hands every day to build things and do manual labor.

I will be honest I miss it a bit.

Back in 2020 when the pandemic hit and we were all forced to stay at home I started to buy motorbikes from the internet.

Give them a clean up with the jet wash and resell them for a profit.

As my hobby is motorbikes and motocross I decided to get a bike to do up in the garage, just for something to do.

Well!!

There is a new phrase on the vehicle market – “ Covid price”

This is where since the pandemic the price of vehicles has shot up and everyone wants stupid money things.

The idea of getting a bike to do up was not going to happen. Not unless I wanted to loss money doing so.

Once I get an idea into me head, I like to try my best.

So I began to think……

Where can I get a bargain on a motorbike to clean up and sell on??

I came across a website called RAW2K.com.

The website sold all sorts of vehicles that have been seized by the police and put to auction.

This was going to be a bit of a gamble.

If I bid on a bike and it didn’t run, then I could spend hours and a lot of money getting the bike running.

No Risk – No Reward

That’s what I told myself, so I decided to bid on some of the bikes.

A few days later I got an email. I had won a bike for £840!

This bike was a Suzuki Bandit 1250cc. Lovely bike but covered in dust and it had some slight damage.

Saying that, if the bike was up and running and legal to go on the road they were selling for around £2500.

I could make this work.

I later found out that I had to drive 100 miles to pick the bike up, Maybe should have looked at that first. But I have a van so it wasn’t a big deal.

So I picked the bike up and took it home to clean it up.

Like I said – with no keys and being stolen and recovered it was a gamble.

That gamble paid off – it only ran, not only that but sounded fantastic.

I took some simple photos with my phone and put it up for sale on Facebook the same day.

If you have ever sold anything on Facebook market place, you always get stupid offers which I just ignored.

Until I have a person really interested.

He came round to take a look and bought the bike.

I made 25% on my investment with that bike. That’s a pretty good return for a couple of days.

I can easily see how this can be made into a business. So much so I have bought 3 more bikes from the same website.

The only problem is that with every bike I buy, I really want to keep.

As my mrs says – you can only ride one bike at a time and I already own 2.

This is a story of a simple idea that can be made into a business where you can become your own boss and break the chains to your 9 to 5 by doing something you enjoy.

These types of ideas come to me all the time.

I’m going to start documenting these ideas. Just to show how easy it can be to be your own boss and work for yourself.

These are just a few things we see on the news daily. 

 All these things are out of my control, Even if I do worry about them, they are still going to happen. 

This is why I see that it’s the time to start being in control of things you CAN control. 

• When you work 
• Who you work for 
• How much you can earn 
• What you spend your money on 

Building you own world inside of all this one and being able to control how it all works. 

I have friends who find themselves working harder and longer hours for the same money, just because the business they works for is in trouble. 

Didn’t they say that about the fuel crisis – But then they made a 12bn profit. 

I’m not saying it’s all doom and gloom all over the world. 

There is something YOU can do to help in the future. 

Start something for yourself. 

Something where you will be your own boss where you are in control of things. 

You don’t have to say “please boss can I have a holiday”

Just go and enjoy your life. 

There’s no more “I have been a good boy, Can I have a raise?”

If you do the work, you get paid. The more you do the more you get paid.

The answer to that is learn. Learn new skills to build your own business and become your own boss.

They are all simple answers. We all know its not that easy. 

When I first started out online, I never even thought about a podcast. 

Yet 3, 2 years and 2 months ago I started my podcast I’m still going strong. 

Like I say – its not been easy.

But it sure is fun. 

There’s one thing we all have in common in this life – none of us are getting out alive. 

Make your time alive count.

Make A Plan Before Quitting Your 9to 5

If you have a 9 to 5 job and want to quit but need the money you get to survive, don’t just be spontaneous and quit tomorrow.

It took me around 2 years to finally be able to quit my job as an electrician.

I had to aim towards it before actually quitting.

The reason I was able to quit my job was when I earnt over double online in one day then I ever did being an electrician for 20 years.

That was enough for me to say I’m going to do it and go full time online.

Alternative Opportunity’s When Quitting Your 9 to 5.

I saw the opportunity to make more money online then I made fixing peoples wiring with:

Less stress

Bigger customer audience

All done from home

I may have got a little excited and expected to be making millions of pounds in a matter of weeks once I went full time.

This of course didn’t happen.

Although I have a clear plan of how I’m going to get there.

Its just going to take longer than anticipated.

Taking A Risk

All entrepreneurs take a little gamble now and again. It making it work out for you that matters and not giving up half way through.

The more I look back now where I worked my 9 to 5 job and why I took that gamble – it makes so much sense to me.

The huge amount of money I had to invest into jobs, just to be ignored by customers when it came to paying the invoice.

Having to answer emails and calls when on holiday from customers – just to keep the business back at home running.

Not to mention the time the whole of the UK was told to stay at home, how can an electrician make a living if it’s illegal to even leave the house.

The assessments I had to do in order to be approved by the local authorities, being assessed by an person who was less qualified then me!

There were just to many cons against not quitting, to the pros of quitting and starting something new.

Even though the money as an electrician in the UK is very good, it was everything that comes with it.

The hours are not even 9 to 5, they are more like 6-10, 11hr days.

It stresses me out thinking about it now.

The current state of the economy may have a lot to do with what happened with covid 2 years ago.

But I think that covid just speeded everything up to what was going to happen anyway.

I think the world leaders are hesitant to actually say we are in a rescission because many people panic. I mean everyone stocked up on toilet roll because they saw it on tv.

The government can make you stay at home, who cares

They cant close your business down or stop you creating content to upload.

Your customers are all over the world – its like having a 24 hour 7 day a week world wide shop.

That’s 100% rescission proof.

When all business were forced to close – they turned to the internet to keep their business running. 

The problem was that offline business owners didn’t have a clue how to market themselves on the world wide web. 

How to target their perfect audience. 

Facebook made millions from people just creating ads and targeting every one in the world, which is pointless for a pizza delivery restaurant in a small town. 

So this forced company’s to out source the online work. 

To people online who would do the work for them, for a small commission. 

Some business have thrived since the pandemic due to moving online. 

Others have wasted money and gone under. 

Then people have started to realize the potential of working online from home – Some didn’t even go back to the job they had, even if they could. 

The skills you learn marketing online can be adapted to any business all over the world, its all connected to the internet.

I see so many people struggling and trying to keep up with the bills coming in, even trying to ignore the fact of the cost of living going up, but the wages staying the same.

Then banging it all on a credit card.

I know people who work REALLY hard in their job because they want to keep it, only to find out one day – its gone. 

The whole business has been losing money and that means every single employee is also out of a job!

This is why I think its vital to have a plan B, even if it’s an hour a day. 

You learn something new, look into another opportunity – don’t keep all you eggs in one basket. 

This will take the pressure off of you being so desperate to keep that one job, hope and preying that nothing happens and your unemployed.

Who knows that plan B can become the Plan A one day. You can still continue to work for someone else in a job – but you wont be so worried that its not going to be there tomorrow.

People have been building a business online for years, they have made the mistakes, they have spent 10 years testing things out and learning what works.

Just like your supervisor at work. You learn the skills from them.

What is a passive income? 

To me its where you set something up and let it run, where it can continue to earn you money over and over without you having to do anymore work. 

This is unheard of working in a 9 to 5 job. 

You are always trading your time for money. 

And to honest there are plenty of online business models the same. Become a coach for example. 

You cant just sell your services as a coach and do nothing, you need to give that customer support and help them with what they signed up to. 

This is why I have been taking a look at my actual online business I am building at the moment. 

Do I want to replace my 9 to 5 with another job where I have to provide support to people all over the world in different time zones.

Where the busier I get the less time I have to live my life, which is the whole reason I started this journey in the first place. 

This got me thinking – Does a passive income actually exist? 

As an affiliate you need to create content in order for customers to see what you have to offer, like this podcast. – So that’s not passive. 

Having a shoplifty store you need to purchase goods to be able to sell goods – so that not passive. 

Trading crypto – you need to keep an eye on the market to see when to buy and sell – so that’s not passive. 

Even if you create your own course to sell online, you need to offer support and still find customers who are interested in that course. 

Is this passive income just a myth????

I’m not one to give up on a dream – some people may call me a day dreamer, but dreams do come true. 

I found an opportunity that seemed too good to be true, when there like that, they usually  a scam of some sort. 

So taking my own advice by doing research – I dived in deeper. 

I not only dived in, I put some money into the project to test it out. 

I wouldn’t be here telling you about it if I just got scammed out of the $500 I put in. 

I would keep my mouth shut. Through being embarrassed. 

As any thing worth doing – it took time. 

Time to research – time to set up and time to make a profit that I could actually withdraw. 

But it all went to plan. 

I am able to make 5% a month on an investment. 

2 months I have been looking at this platform now and trying to find a way that its too good to be true. 

Its not and like clockwork I am able to take the profits from the money I invested. 

The great thing is it only took me a couple of hours to set up and not takes 10 mins with withdraw. 

Witch I would say is the best passive income I have come across since being online. 

This leave me plenty of time to build my podcast and affiliate marketing business too.

Equipped with a public relations degree, Spencer looked at his current position as he was capped at a low salary in his job.

Having a child made him realize just how much life costs. With seeing how much money he could make in his current career, compared to how much he needed to make.

With plans to have more than one child Spencer came up with the idea to start a side hustle online.

Being super safe with his choices, Spencer didn’t just quit his 9 to 5 job and pursue an online career.

In Spencer’s own words he “side hustled” it until he was making the same money in his regular job. Then made the decision to quit his 9 to 5 job.

The journey was tiring with working his 9 to 5 and building a side hustle in the evenings, but with less stress having to rely on one source of income.

Which in my opinion is a great way to start online.

If you just quit your job and go all in to becoming your own boss, things can begin to get stressful when something doesn’t work out straight away.

With the original ambition to have a goal on and extra $500 -$1000 a month. Spencer hadn’t set his goals extremely high. It wasn’t until his research uncovered the protentional of an online business that he saw it as a full time career.

Then when he began to make the same amount of money from the side hustle he had created, Spencer realized that there was no need to have a 9 to 5 job any more.

Quitting my 9 to 5 and working online

You may not think there are There are Outside Influence That Hold you Back, but they may be right in front of you and you just cant see them.

Taking a risk to change career after becoming respected in your current profession?

After building a successful business and it getting better and bigger?

To start at the bottom again and learn something new?

Is it stupid?

• Why even bother?
• What would everyone say?
• What would they think?

These thoughts went trough my head, to be honest they still pop up from time to time. I was known as an electrician, and a good one at that earning a good amount of money and having plenty of nice things to show for it.

What Can You Earn As An Electrician?

The average electrician can make around 40k a year in the UK, and to be honest I was working for myself and made more then that.

But I worked really hard, with callouts and jumping to every opportunity to work at all hours.

This was all I knew – Work hard and you will reap the benefits in the form of money.

I never considered that I had no time to spend that money on enjoying my life. I was too busy working all the time.

That’s was until one day I applied for a mortgage for a new house. With 100k to put down that still wasn’t enough.

I didn’t earn enough, or so I was told by the bank.

I had to make a decision. Work even harder for 3 years and do just what the system wanted me to do by paying more tax and having even less time to live my life.

Look for another way to make more money and be on the other side of the banks where they will be queuing up to lend you money.

Both were not easy choices, both would require me to work hard in order to get to where I wanted to be.

The only thing is being an electrician and expanding the business would mean I needed employees and take on bigger contracts in order to make more money – only to pay more tax.

I was stressed enough with what I was doing already. With working a lot longer hours than 9 to 5 and spending most of the day on and off the phone.

What About The Outside Influences

But everyone would look at me as successful, everyone who know me, family and friends would see me so busy with all these jobs and customers.

Starting something from scratch would mean I was a nobody. I would know nothing and have to learn so many new skills to be able to build up a reputation in a new industry.

As I’m here now telling you this – I took a chance on myself and started right back at square 1.

I now call myself a podcaster and online marketer.

It’s a common perspective that an entrepreneur is someone with millions of dollars and living the life of their dreams.

After coming across Tom on tic tok and being impressed by his content and how he has grown such a huge social media following. 

I reached out and asked him to come on the podcast and tell us more. 

Being 20 years old it was interesting to know if Tom had ever experienced a 9 to 5 job at all. 

I found out that Tom has experienced a part time job, but always had in mind to grow a social media following for the future. 

Using the income he generated from the part time job to invest in his own online business. 

Rather than looking at the money he could be earning working for someone else. Tom looked at the enjoyment he gets out of creating content for himself to creating content for other people. 

THAT is a huge thing when working for yourself. Being happy with the work your doing. Not just doing it because of the income it generates you at the time. 

Although Tom will admit that he thinks having a 9 to 5 job would be an easier option, he followed his dream of creating a fan base and an audience of his own. 

Inspired from watching endless amounts of YouTube video from a young age. 

I have to admire Tom for being determined to build an online business. Even though his parents we telling him to go out and get a job to earn a secure income. 

Where probably being a similar are to Tom parents, that is great advice to tell your children to do what you know to be successful yourself. 

Starting your own online business wasn’t popular for a lot of people in the year 2000 for some of us. 

Nothing like it is today with 12 year old children making more in a week then I ever made as an electrician in a year. 

“That’s what’s so appealing online”

Tom has been able to grow a tic tok following of over half a million followers in 2 years. 

That’s a huge number of follows, you must agree that Tom learnt a thing or two along the way. 

So what other better way to monetize that experience then to teach others on how to grow on social media. 

Tom didn’t start off with growing on tic tok.

His main area of focus is Tom Bids – the YouTube channel. Which he has also grown to a whooping 26k followers.

Understanding that it IS hard work to grow on social media, also that you won’t receive the real benefits from your efforts for some time.

This is something that Tom has got a clear picture of and his goal is to grow for the future of his social media flowing.

The YouTube channel is around 4 years old. Starting off in a completely different niche Tom soon realized that he would have to pivot.

The channel started off in the automotive niche, filming events with cars.

The events were not on regular enough to be able to upload often enough to grow the channel. 

This is where Tom went into the gaming niche. Then finally settling on building the channel arounds real life. 

You could say that Tom is a quick learner and changed to what would work for him and what he enjoys.

I will admit for me I was sucked into the money.

✅Fancy Holidays

I worked on being like all the gurus on YouTube for around a year. 

As you can imagine that didn’t happen. 

These day I have different goals. 

Goals that don’t need me to have all those fancy shiny objects. 

Its TIME.

Taking a week out to go on a trip to Poland and help others 

Its all about what you want out of life and how you want to spend your time on this planet.

One piece of advice to my younger self 

This question was asked to me to day. 

It made me think......

Earn more money?

Work harder?

Learn more?

The one thing that stuck out in my mind was experiences. 

Life experiences that made me who I am today.

That makes me diffrent from everyone else around me. 

I grew up in a small village. 

Hung around with the same friends I spent all day with at school. 

Followed what was expected of me and got an apprenticeship. 

At 19 I traveled the world. 

Starting in Europe, then over to Austraila...

Taking me to Japan, Hong Kong, South America ........

The traveling side of things was brilliant, but the things I valued most were the  experiences of diffrent cultures. 

People were diffrent. 

Life was diffrent from the small village I had spent all my life in. 

Meeting so many diffrent people from all over the world is what got my mind thinking. 

Thinking how many opportunities there actually is out there. 

I returned back to the UK. 

Slipped into the same routine as every one else. 

Completed my apprenticeship and started my own business as an electrician. 

It wasn't until I reached 35 that I realised, I dont want this out of my life. 

It was boring, it was the same as everyone else in the village I grew up in. 

Same shit - diffrent day!

So to my younger self & everyone who need to hear this

Do what you want to do - be who you want to be. 

Follow your dreams - One day you will be dead

Its probably not common knowledge – because nobody talks about it

Its not as easy or simple as you are first made to feel.

Giving up on your dreams to merge back into society where you fell you belong. 

Bollox! Never think you are the only one who thinks this. 

I thought it too.

Its about getting into your head that failure is NOT an option! 

Fail is what other people do! NOT YOU!

Your right – to succeed in life its not easy – If it was we would have a world full of millionaires. 

However in order to turn your life around, understand that success starts within. 

Figure out WHY you want to change the current situation in your life. 

What are your going to change your life to? 

Lambos and a bed filled with cash? 

Is that what your want or what your need? 

There are so many questions that can come from one idea. 

All these questions need to be answered in order to move forward in life. 

These questions and thoughts in this post were inspired by a book I have read a few times. 

A few times because I constantly ask myself these questions. 

Things change in my life, just like they will in yours.
