E160: He Began To Build
E160: He Began To Build
Our study today takes us to Luke 14. Jesus says a lot about discipleship in this chapter.  Sacrifice is required when it comes to being a Christian.  Many times we can start strong, but fail to finish what we have begun. Jesus tells us why this happens and what we can do to avoid it.  This was originally preached at the beginning of 2022. I was convicted listening to myself. The year is almost over, but there is still time to finish what we began to build.

E158: Hell- The Sermon No One Wants To Hear
When was the last time you heard someone request a sermon on hell?  When was the last time you heard a sermon on hell?  Hell is a topic that Jesus discussed often and in detail. And yet, many don't want to hear about it. Sadly, many don't believe what Jesus taught about hell.  In this lesson, we look at the word of God and why many don't want to hear this kind of sermon. The reasons as to why are the very reasons we need to hear about it!  Visit www.benjaminlee.blog for the outline of this lesson.

E157: God Is...Therefore I Will
E157: God Is...Therefore I Will
Whenever we read from the Holy Scriptures, we should be seeking to learn something about God!  It was Pharaoh in Exodus 5:2 who asked the question "Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go?" A lot of people ask, "Who is the LORD?" The Psalms help us to see who God is. In this Podcast Episode, we go through Psalm 95-Psalm 97. We will read each of these Psalms and then ask, "What can we learn about God?" Then we will see how we should respond to Him. God Is...Therefore I Will!

E156: You Did It Me
E156: You Did It Me
In Matthew 25:34-40 it says,  “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ You Did It Me. In this sermon, I discuss how this statement should change our thinking when it comes to sin, suffering, work, and our worship.  In all we do, we are doing it unto the Lord. Therefore everything we do matters.

E153: How to Stop Worrying and Start Living
E153: How to Stop Worrying and Start Living
One of the worst things to do with our time is to Worry. Jesus says that it is a wast of time, Matthew 6:27. Yet many people including Christians struggle with worry. In this sermon, I discuss: What's the distinction between worry and concern?  How to stop worrying about the past. How to stop worrying today.  How to stop worrying about the future.  Everything that is share is from God's Word!  P.S. I read the book "How to stop worrying and start living" by Dale Carnegie. This is where I got the title. It's a great book. You should buy it. I was happy to see that he references the scriptures quite a bit. The word of God always has the answers that we need.

E152: Bringing Joy to the Home
There is a kind of medicine that we don't consider or use enough. I'm referring to what's written in Proverbs 17:22. The Bible says, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."  In this sermon, we study the topic of bringing joy to our homes. How can we all have a joyful heart? The one thing each family member can do is to be content! Learning to be content is a way to bring great joy to our homes.  1. I discuss how discontentment destroys joy.  2. The expectation God has for us to be content.  3. How to learn to be content.  May God bless you!

I love books. I recently picked up a book someone had gifted me. It’s called “Success is Simple” by D. Paul Reilly. It’s a book from the 1970’s. It’s a quick read. One of the chapters I really enjoyed is called “Problems.” In it, the author shares how to handle problems. Challenges and problems will come in every aspect of our lives. How we handle them will help determine how successful we may be. In this episode, I share how to handle problems according to the author.

Episode #122: My Conversation with New York Times Best Selling Author Robert Cheeke.
I had an absolute blast talking to Robert Cheeke in this episode. You will definitely want to take notes. Below is Robert's Bio.  I recently decided to follow a plant based lifestyle. The results I've seen in 40 days have been amazing! My health coach Eva Latchem (who is a part of this discussion) sent me Roberts book. It came at the perfect time for me in this journey! I highly recommend you check out his book as well.  Robert grew up on a farm in Corvallis, Oregon where he adopted a vegan lifestyle in 1995 at age 15, weighing just 120 pounds. Today he is the author of the books, Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness, Shred It!, Plant-Based Muscle, and the New York Times Bestseller, The Plant-Based Athlete. He is often referred to as the “Godfather of Vegan Bodybuilding,” growing the industry from infancy in 2002, to where it is today. As a two-time natural bodybuilding champion, Robert is considered one of VegNews magazine's Most Influential Vegan Athletes. He tours around the world sharing his story of transformation from a skinny farm kid to champion vegan bodybuilder. Robert is the founder and president of Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness and maintains the popular website, VeganBodybuilding.com. He is a regular contributor to No Meat Athlete, Forks Over Knives, and Vegan Strong, is a multi-sport athlete, entrepreneur, and has followed a plant-based diet for more than 25 years. Robert lives in Colorado with his wife and two rescued Chihuahuas.

Episode #118: When to be a people pleaser
I've talked before on this Podcast about being a people pleaser. This has been a challenge for me at times along with a number of other people.  And yet, there is person who I need to be seeking to please on a daily basis. That's my spouse.  Husbands and wives have a great responsibility to please one another. Our marriages deserve each parties investing time, energy, love, compassion, and more into the relationship.  Join me as I consider a few passages from the Bible that will help us as we seek to please our spouses.

Episode #111: Life Beyond the Scale Chapter 4: A Medicine Many Don't Want!
In this episode, I share something I learned during a lunch I had with a physician.  As we think about moving Beyond the Scale, it's important to have the proper mindset. Part of this mindset is viewing Exercise the proper way! Exercise is a blessing. There are numerous health benefits.  As I get older, I believe we should view Exercise like taking a daily pill. It's something we need in some shape or form everyday. Yet, sadly it's a medicine that many don't want to take! What about you? Sometimes people say, "I have to figure out the right algorithm for such and such social media platform!" People study the algorithm's, they will tailor their posts, what they say, how they say what they say, for the purpose of pleasing the powerful Algorithms.  But what if we had that same kind of mindset toward God?  "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth!" Episode #104: How To Find Your Best Career
Everyone wants their dream career! Is it possible to really find your dream job or career? Some say "Yes" and some say "No!" How does one go about identifying work that will be suitable for them?  How can one put themselves in the best possible position to excel in a particular career?  In this episode, I share with you a test I took earlier in the year that was really eye-opening for me. During a coaching session, I shared with a client of mine that he didn't need to hit a home run! That resonated with him in the moment. Episode #97: What are you cooking?
I love to coach. I like to use the example of a side top. There is a limited amount of space. Decisions have to be made of what should be cooked first or at all. What a great example when it comes to our lives. What are we cooking? The choice is ours. I either heard this example or read about it in a book. I hope it will help you to focus on what’s really important!

Episode #86: The Pursuit of Happiness with Mark Bossert
In this new season, I'm back to interviewing people that I believe will help me and others to have an I CAN DO mindset! In this episode, I talk to Mark Bossert about the pursuit of happiness. Mark is a friend of mine and he has been a big encouragement to so many. We met last year in the Ultraspeaking community. Mark has overcome many challenges in his life. He has learned the value of discipline, creating good habits, and being able to focus on things that are good! We discuss: - A variety of challenging moments in his life and how they shaped him.  -The power of the pause when making big decisions.  -Creating good habits.  -The impact of discipline and what it can provide you.  -Social Media that Mark uses and the impact his company has had on their clients.  -Why we should take life one day at a time.  Below is Mark's bio.  Owner of toplocalrankings.com, public speaking coach at Ultraspeaking.com, husband/grandfather, parental unit caregiver, interested in everything, former national martial arts champion, cross country skier, trekker, mtn biker, nature LOVER, vegan, lover of science, metaphysics, dogs, cats, animals, life and Donna (my wife). Episode #51: Move Forward
Wherever you may find yourself in life, it will be important to keep moving forward. That's easier said than done, right? In Jeremiah chapter 29, the Israelites found themselves in captivity. As exiles in a foreign land, they would have to make a choice. Do nothing or keep moving forward. Give up on God or trust in Him. It feels like we're in a foreign land with what's happening in 2020. Maybe you have lost your job. Maybe you've lost some of your possessions. Maybe you have lost a whole lot more. As hard as it is, we must keep moving forward. Our trust must be in God as we navigate these difficult days.
