Winter running is all about preparation and in today's episode, Bethany Thompson, founder and coach at Persistent Running gives insight into her top recommendations on winter running, the benefits to winter running, her favorite gear recommendations and more! Don't let the cold season discourage you - get out there and enjoy the unique season that winter running provides! 


1. Invest in the right gear 

2. Yaktrax, studded shoes, ice bugs. 

3. Start small - go a couple times per week, allow your body to adjust to the temperatures.

4. Don't be afraid to use the treadmill!

5. If possible, go later in the am 

6. If possible, run on the roads

7. SLOW down 

8. Embrace the season and the unique challenges winter running provide

We are back from the Holiday break and today we are chatting all about FOOD. As runners we need to fuel our bodies and eating is a critical role in how we preform as athletes. In today's episode, Bethany shares 10 favorite snack/easy meal ideas that are easy to make, nutritionally dense, and perfect to help promote recovery.

Favorite Chocolate Smoothie

1 1/2 large frozen bananas
1 c. raw milk or oat milk
Big scoop for Peanut butter
2 scoops chocolate totally egg protein powder
Spinach
Handful of ice
Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Berry Smoothie

1 cup frozen berries
1 frozen banana
2 scoops of Designer Wellness Totally Egg vanilla protein powder
Spinach or kale
1 cup raw milk (or oat milk, almond milk)

Favorite Asian Dressing

1/4 cup soy sauce/tamari sauce
1/4 olive oil
1/4 honey or maple syrup
1 lime, squeezed
