We are twos years into the pandemic and teaching initially moved from classroom based to virtual lessons, in a traditional classroom there would have been lots of hands-on support for those students with special educational needs. We will hear from Alan Yeoman, author of our How to Teach SEN Students PD Module, about best teaching practice, tips and advice as to how to best support your SEN students in a virtual teaching environment.

Teaching Online Effectively

Teaching Online Effectively

In this episode we talk to Sarah White, iPLS Master Trainer and author of the iPLS Professional Development Module, How to Teach Online Effectively, on the flipped classroom approach. We discuss how the flipped classroom approach has become more popular during the global pandemic, where teaching and learning has essentially flipped to an ever-increasing student-centred approach. Pre-pandemic the flipped classroom approach was very successful in University learning and in some cases was used in primary and lower secondary classes sparingly, but now with the majority of teaching online, teachers have re-discovered the flipped classroom approach. Sarah discusses some challenges that we have all faced when it comes to teaching online and how the flipped learning approach can take some pressure off of teachers and place students at the forefront of their own learning. We discuss some strategies and advice as to how to create a flipped learning classroom and how best to plan your lessons.

Teaching Online Effectively

Teaching Online Effectively

At the beginning of the pandemic teaching very quickly moved from classroom based to virtual lessons in the space of a few short weeks, many teachers and students found themselves having to adapt very quickly to both teaching and learning online and this didn't come without its challenges! A year into the pandemic and many schools have now adopted a blended learning approach, with around half of the teaching time spent online in virtual classrooms.  This episode is focused on tips and strategies and what to look out for when teaching online.

In this episode we are joined by Sarah White, an Education Consultant with over 30 years of experience teaching internationally. More recently Sarah has been both writing and delivering Professional Development to teachers globally, and before the pandemic travelled extensively to ensure teachers received the very best Professional Development.

If you would like to learn more about teaching online effectively, please register to join the How to Teach Online Effectively webinar hosted by iPLS PD and Sarah White, on June 2nd at 9amBST | 8amGMT. Link to register is below;
