Today we take a deep dive into soul music. But these aren't the songs you'll hear every day on the radio. We picked some great soul music that are deeper cuts from the artists you know and love! Plus two fun misheard lyrics!

Now that the weather is warm, the barbecues are fired up and the kids are out of school. we take a look at songs that make us think of summer. These are not limited to songs about summer, but songs we remember listening to in the summertime of our youths.

Joe and Patty dive into songs that don't use the title in the lyrics. We used some of the suggestions from our Facebook page and came up with a few of our own!  Plus a triple mondegreen!

Joe Iaquinto and Patty Molloy celebrate Terry Kath's 75th birthday with great music and stories about one of the greatest guitar players of our time. Terry Kath was a founding member of the band Chicago. Jimi Hendrix considered Terry to be a better guitar player than he.

Guests include Terry's former bandmates Walter Parazaider and Danny Seraphine, John Carsello- former manager of Caribou Ranch Recording  Studio and Terry's childhood friend and former bandmate Nick Morrone.

Barry Mann, along with his wife Cynthia Weil wrote over 98 hit songs in the US spanning over 4 decades, including the song that got the most radio airplays of the 20th century! His roster of hits include On Broadway, Blame It On The Bossa Nova, Just Once, Somewhere Out There, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' and Here You Come Again.

In today's show, Patty Molloy and Joe Iaquinto discuss the Brill Building years when Barry was part of the iconic group of songwriters who wrote the songs that defined the era. 

Joe and Patty take a listen to songs that either borrow, sample or outright plagiarize other songs. Some resulted in lawsuits, some settled out of court. Occasionally the original songwriter said "go ahead and use it, I don't care". You might be surprised when you hear which songs we included! Plus two "mondegreens".

In this episode, Joe and Patty take a listen to politically incorrect songs that would never fly today.  Masked beneath catchy, upbeat music are  songs about misogyny, adultery, racism, abuse, incest, pedophilia and body shaming! These are tunes we all sang along and danced to - and some that even topped the charts! But we really didn't pay attention to the lyrics. Plus a surprising misheard lyric from The Rolling Stones and one from Cher.
