Being in a service-oriented profession, I think we can sometimes get lost in thinking of the many needs/wants of our clients, and lose sight of our own desires. As teachers and business-owners, we are faced with requests for exceptions ALL THE TIME. As a general rule, I tend to think exceptions lead to strained relationships. Freeman spoke about in episode 127 of her The Next Right Thing podcast… Which your Anytime Piano Teacher Friend resonated deeply with… We now have a very wise commandment to examine: Don’t try to be great, just be solid.
