This is a simple tip to overcome emotional eating for one of my listeners who shared the following: 


I'm an emotional eater. When I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I turn to food for comfort. And once I start eating, I can't seem to stop. I'll stand in front of the fridge, stuffing my face with whatever I can find, until I'm so full I feel sick. And afterward, I always feel guilty and ashamed. I know I need to get a handle on my emotional eating, but I don't know how. Every time I try to diet or restrict myself, I end up bingeing. Mindful eating requires you to simply acknowledge and accept rather than judge the feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations you observe.
