Withey started his ski career avoiding rusty farm equipment while shredding the mighty slopes of Wisconsin. Then one fabled visit to Alta changed his life's trajectory for good. Now he's a legendary bartender at one of Alta's most famous après-ski bars and a pro skier with multiple magazine covers under his belt. Withey's ski bum tale is as old as time, with one small caveat...he actually made it. He also makes a mean "Boomerang" which will definitely warm you up and get your "twiskey."

Halley and Rich chat it up with Chris Fish, co-founder of Telluride Brewing Company. Located in Colorado near Telluride Ski Resort, the brewery is gearing up to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and TBC just opened a brand new Brew Pub & Taqueria which will serve up their award-winning beer alongside tasty tacos. In our chat, Chris hints that Madonna (yes, the singer) may be the inspiration of the Face Down Brown Ale can art. And The Snow RePORTER - a brand new beer - is born right here on Beyond The Après!

In this episode, Halley and Rich are shaking things up with Karen Hoskin, owner and founder of the award winning Montanya Rum from Crested Butte, Colorado. This high-elevation distillery and tasting room serves up craft quality cocktails using only the freshest ingredients. Karen tells us how and why she considers rum to be a superior spirit, her ski day rituals and routines, and coaches us through creating a classic daiquiri. Where we're going, we don't need blenders. 

In this episode, Rich and Halley literally mix up some cocktails with Colm O'Neill, creator of Hard Chaw Irish Cream. Just like its name implies, Hard Chaw was born out of the need for a more potent Irish Whiskey cream that contains 50% more alcohol by volume than the traditional Irish Cream. That's right, this spirit packs a punch (quite literally). Whether you're mixing up an espresso martini or sipping it over ice, it's a great liqueur to get cozy with at après ski.

Rich and Halley sit down and stir it up with Jessie Unruh, the director of marketing at Breckenridge Distillery, and their liquid chef, Billie Keithly. While mixing up and drinking two of Breckenridge Distillery's famous cocktails, we learn more about their award winning spirits, their love of backcountry après ski, and why visitors find the "world's highest distillery" so special. There is also some interesting talk of fat washing breakfast meats for cocktails and some hilarious shot ski stories.

Mike is an avid skier with an après plan for every kind of ski day and aspires to one day join the mug club at Arapahoe Basin. And during your first time to the brewery, don't ask what is new... because "they're all f*cking new to you" and he's not wrong.

Halley O'Brien and Rich Stoner have some beers with Andy Goggins from 10 Barrel Brewing, where their motto is "Drink Beer Outside." 10 Barrel Brewing has six brewpubs with its flagship location in Bend, Oregon. Dedicated to its motto, the brewery created the "Beercat Tour" where they put a mini-pub on the back of a snowcat and tour it around the mountain creating an epic après experience. Crack open a cold one (preferably a Pray For Snow Winter Ale or a Nature Calls Mountain IPA) and enjoy the show.
