Which Software Engineering Job Offer Should I Accept?
In this episode, we look at some factors that should be considered when you are accepting a job offer. If you have two or more job offers on the table and you are trying to decide on which one to accept, I hope you find these pointers insightful/helpful. Things like base salary, bonuses, benefits, location, cost of living, etc. are all important when deciding between multiple offers. Find your trade-off point/mark and make your decision based on that. Please note that what helped me to make my decision might not be helpful to you and however you arrive at your decision, it is just and it is great! Good luck!
How My Software Engineering Resume Should Look - Part Two
In this episode, I talk about some of the resume tips and tricks I have learned over the year. Using my resume, I go over things like what should be prioritized, things that should be left off your resume and when they should and shouldn't be left off. I also make a mention of LinkedIn and why it is important to use (Not an ad). It is also important to note that these are my experiences, and there is no definite way of constructing a resume. There is also no such thing as a one-size-fit-all resume. Everyone has different experiences and as such, our resumes will be different. I say that to say, your resume doesn't have to look at mine to be "great". My resume has gotten me into the doors of Microsoft, Disney, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, etc. WITHOUT referrals. I didn't get offers from some companies, I didn't do my interviews for others, did an internship at one, and have a full time job at one of them.
