From a neuroscience/psychology perspective this is why what you are focusing on will grow:

1. Neurons that fire together wire together. The more that certain thoughts are happening the more they are wiring together which makes them happen quicker, easier, more automatically. It's like going to the gym and working a muscle, the mind strengths with what you are thinking about. 

2. RAS, Reticular Activating System, is your brains filter. It deletes and distorts information in your surroundings depending on what you deem as important. The more you focus on what you are grateful for the more your brains filter will pick up on things in your life that align with gratitude and show them to you, other wise it will literally ignore them.

3. We love to be validated, and so do our beliefs. Your brain will seek evidence that what you believe is true.

I used to wake up daily with anxiety, there never seemed to be a reason for me having this anxiety but everyday I woke up feeling it. I see so many people online posting about their struggles with anxiety so I wanted to share what I did to overcome it and how I manage it anytime it comes up.

1. Journal

This is especially helpful if you are feeling anxious about something but you aren't sure what is causing the anxiety. Writing is linked to the subconscious mind and journaling is a great way to bring light to the issues that are stuck there. As you bring awareness to them it's easy to start reworking them and reframing them to manage your minds fears.

2. EFT

Also called Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping is a fusion of talk therapy and acupressure. Some studies suggest it is as effective as CBT in fewer sessions. The great thing is, you can use EFT on your own between therapy sessions to combat your anxiety. Click here for a EFT Tapping video from my YouTube Channel

3. Breathwork

When your breath is short, shallow and fast paced, it sends a signal to your Central Nervous System to activate the Flight or Fight Response in your body, aka anxiety. Working with your breath is an excellent way to calm anxiety.

4. Movement

Motion = Emotion, if you do the same things you have always done you will feel the same way that you have always felt. If I told you that next to me was someone who was depressed and I asked you to described what they looked like you would probably say that they are frowning, they're looking down, they have poor posture. If instead I asked you to describe someone who was excited you could probably describe them as smiling, a sparkle in their eyes, sitting tall, etc. If you can't overcome anxiety from a mental stand point (journaling, EFT, etc.) try taking a physical approach.

(#46) Welcoming Self Love

With Valentine's day right around the corner, the love is in the air! But what about self love?

You are worthy of your own love, validation, acceptance and appreciation.

We've all heard the phrase "You can only love another as much as you love yourself" BUT I'd like to take this idea a bit further... You can't love any aspect of your life (not your relationships, your career, your hobbies, etc) until you love yourself. The reason being, wherever you go, there you are. You are the common denominator for EVERY area in your life. It starts with you, baby!

Here are 3 ways to welcome more self love into your life:

1. Create a routine. A daily self care practice where you can truly nourish your body, mind, heart and soul!

2. Do what feels good. Duh. This seems obvious but we have a tendency to agree to too many things, things that we dont WANT to do in the first place. This is an act of self betrayal. Everything you say "yes" to is a "no" to something else. What are you saying no to? No to your own time? Energy? Sanity? No. No. No..

3. BOUNDARIES. We are very familiar with boundaries and how they are important  for our relationships BUT what about the boundaries you set with yourself? The bed time boundary, the Netflix boundary, the social media boundary? Self boundaries help you stay accountable in your self love practices. Click here for a whole episode on boundaries!

BUT THEN WHAT?! 

You agree to start a routine... but what do you do in your routine? You start saying NO to things that don't light you up... but what do you do with the extra energy? You set boundaries and free up and TON of time... okay? What do I do with that time?

Below are the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman (Click here to get his book) and ways to use them for SELF LOVE

Quality Time: Cut out time to be alone, whether it's a hot bath, a walk in nature or a quiet meditation. Some serious Me, Myself and I time!

Acts of Service: Do things to support yourself like meal prep or goal setting and planning.

Words of Affirmation: Create affirmations for your meditation practice, to write in your journal or to say in there mirror. (here's whole episode on affirmations!)

Physical Touch: Anything that makes your body feel GOOD! Light stretching, hot bath, self massage, fuzzy blankets.

Gifts: Investing in things for yourself. Buy yourself a new journal or a candle for your nighttime bath.

Learn my custom approach to self healing and transformation!
This is a step by step guide to exactly what I do to create transformation in my life and how I facilitate change for 1:1 Clients.
Step 1: Identify which area of your life is most out of alignment. You probably already know what it is but if you don't use this podcast episode to guide you!
Step 2: Dig on your blocks to discover your core belief. What's the worst thing about this? What am I afraid will happen next? What do I make this mean about me? Etc. You know you hit the root when there's emotion behind it and you feel a little shocked.
Step 3: Use timeline techniques to discover the FIRST time you decided this was true and rewrite it. Do this as many times as you need to.
Step 4: Write your new empowering belief. Use this podcast episode to help you effectively write your new belief/affirmation. Make a list of all the reasons why this new belief is true.
Step 5: If you were the version of yourself that fully, completely, wholly believe this new belief, what would you do? Where would you go? What do you think? What do you say? How do you act? Where do you spend time? Who do you spend time with? DO THOSE THINGS EVERYDAY. You can't just put it off until some day, you become your belief by embodying it.
Step 6: Tap through the old belief to the new belief. If you're new to tapping watch this video for an example of how to do it.
Step 7: Keep rewriting your mindset with subliminal audios, hypnosis audios, daily tapping, etc.
Step 8: Watch as your entire reality COMPLETELY transforms.

Life's hard man. It is FULL of disappointment. We have big goals and dreams for how we think life should go and when it doesn't we feel defeated. We feel like it isn't possible. Like we aren't capable of making it happen. Like the whole thing is pointless. I FREAKING GET IT.

This episode has some raw, real and vulnerable stories about what I've gone through in the last several years but it also has some very practical steps for you to take on your journey moving forward with faith instead of fear. 

The steps to dealing with life's disappointments:

1. Remember who the F you are. You are a spiritual being living a human experience. You are so worthy. So enough. So incredible. Deserving. Capable. Important. Valuable, etc. Work through your minds limitations and tap back into your limitless spirit. For help remembering book a FREE 15 min coaching call with me!

2. Be open to limitless possibilities. Your mind is limited to what it has experienced in this present life here on earth. There is a whole world out there baby and you NEVER know what's going to happen next! Zoom out. See the bigger possibilities

3. Be open to what is of the highest good. Maybe you think being a millionaire would be totally sweet but maybe it isn't of your highest good because the effort needed to obtain and sustain would wreck you. Maybe $500k is your highest good, the perfect divine balance. You don't know what's best for you, but your intuition does. Tap into it and trust what it says.

4. Tune in for guidance. If your brain is running you and circles it's time to shut it down. Your brain is great at making it about you. Why you weren't good enough, why you don't deserve it, what you should have done/said instead. Your brain is full of B.S. Tune into a force that is much greater than you and seek higher guidance. 

5. SAT. Surrender, allow and trust. Surrender isn't giving up, it's giving over. Give over what you think you need. Give over what you think is of your highest good. Give It over. Allow the limitless possibilities to unfold. Trust that what is of your highest good is coming.

6. Dream bigger. Stop boxing yourself into these limited ideas of what's possible for you. Shoot for the moon, if you miss, you might just land amongst the stars.

Hello Gorgeous soul!

Today on the podcast we are talking self care, again! If you missed last week’s episode of the podcast with 7 ways to practice self care, you can click here to listen now!

Today’s focus is on how self care helps us to become the best version of ourselves and create the best version of our lives.

  • Self care helps us feel more peace, joy, gratitude, calm, etc.  The quality of emotions we experience is directly related to the quality of life that we life. Being our best self isn’t about achieving more things, it’s about feeling our best and showing up in the world in that way. Self care helps us do just that.
  • Self care helps us work through mental, emotional, physical and energetic blocks that are not serving us. These blocks keep us separate from our soul/spirit/higher self, aka our true self. Working through these blocks helps us reconnect with who we truly are, aka the highest and best version of ourselves. When we connect with this version of ourselves we can show up in the world as such and create the life of our dreams.
  • When we’re practicing self care and we’re feeling good we have the energy and inspiration to go out in the world and do the things that we deeply desire to do, rather than veg out and numb out because we’re too tired, stressed, burnt out, etc.
  • From the time we are born we are taught to evaluate everything in the external world but we are never taught to evaluate internally. This causes us to not know who we truly are, it causes us to shape shift and people please in order to feel good enough and accepted. Through self care we can discover who we truly are and start to love ourselves for who and what we are. We can separate from the noise of the outside world telling us who we “should” be and instead get to know who we truly are. When we do this, we naturally connect with people and situations that align with our inner truth, for the most fulfilling and vibrant lived experience we can imagine.
  • When you start to live with so much vibrancy, so much radiance and so much freedom, you inspire those around you to do the same. What a beautiful world that creates.

  1. Meditation. I meditate EVERYDAY. It’s a great tool for quieting the monkey mind. If you are working on spiritual wellness, meditation is THE tool for connecting with your spirit and to a higher power (god, the universe, angels, whatever you believe in). Let's talk about how to show up in your life as the highest and best version of yourself AKA your soul self.

We’re going to demystify this idea that finding yourself and becoming yourself is something that you do outside of yourself, it’s really a journey that you take in, of and with yourself.

There are three levels of our being, I'm not talking about Body Mind Spirit, that's a conversation for a different time, I’m talking about the Ego, the Shadow and the Spirit.

Together, we're going to break each of these down to have a better understanding of them and then we'll be talking about how you can start to align with your spirit more and how you can show up in your life as your spirit.

The Shadow is all of the wounded aspects of yourself,  every negative comment someone's made about you that makes you feel small, every limiting belief, every moment of feeling like you're not good enough. These thoughts/feelings can be something you're consciously aware of or it could be something you're unconsciously aware of. This can show up as self sabotage, people pleasing, perfectionism, etc.

Next we have our Ego. Our ego’s job is to protect the shadow, to protect us from experiencing more hurt, more discomfort, more pain. The Ego will do a lot of things to make sure this happens. One is to show up as perfect so no one knows about the painful aspects of ourselves. Another is casting judgment, because if we're judging, we get to project the hurt and pain before it hits us. The Ego is responsible for all of the fear we experience. Fear can be both a good thing and a bad thing, our ego doesn't know the difference between the fear of doing uncomfortable (but good) things for ourselves and the fear of a life or death situation (aka survival). Our Ego is always self-sabotaging us, whether we recognize it or not.

The final layer of our being is our spirit. Our soul is pure unconditional Consciousness, pure unconditional love, pure unconditional Joy. We are Spiritual Beings living a Human Experience, which means we all have a spirit but sometimes it’s so deep within us that it feels like we can't access it. This happens because of our life experiences, pain, hurt, trauma, liming beliefs, etc. To protect us our Ego puts up these walls of judgment, of attack, of fear, of manipulation. It thinks that it’s protecting us but really it’s just separating us from our authentic self.

We show up in our lives in one of two ways, one is out of love and one is out of fear. When we show up in the world in alignment with fear, we are showing up in alignment with our ego, when we show up in alignment with love, we are showing up in alignment with our soul self. You can make two exact same decisions with different energy behind them.

To be your soul self, acknowledge how you are showing up in your life, is it with love or is it with fear?

Practice quieting the ego (lovingly), healing your shadow & create space for your soul to show up in the world.

Today's episode of the Live Life Extraordinary Podcast is about finding YOUR spiritual path.

There are hundreds and probably even thousands of spiritual teachers and teachings in the world. No teacher out there has the TRUE spiritual knowing. As a spiritual teacher I can say, we have our own truths about spirituality based on our own lived experiences and out own understandings. This means, what is TRUE for me in my spiritual journey may resonate with you and it may not. 

If you are someone who grew up under a specific religion that doesn't resonate with you, or you are on a spiritual path and can't find the "right" text, teachings or teacher, then this is for you.

No one can tell you how to have a spiritual connection or a spiritual practice. Some people promote prayer, meditation, readings, groups, etc as THE way to have a spiritual connection and spiritual practice BUT it's up to you to take a test drive to find what works for you.

Where do you feel most connected to your soul, spirit or higher self?

What helps you feel connected to a higher power? (god, angels, ancestors, the universe, whatever you feel connected to)

The answer to those questions is within YOU, it's not in someone else's book, text or teachings. 

Maybe your connection is in a yoga class or on your meditation pillow or out in nature or dancing to music that sets your soul free. 

There is no right or wrong way to practice spirituality. As long as your practice and your connection feels authentic to YOU, it is right. 

On your journey you may find teachers that you resonate with and teachings that speak to your soul, but my suggestion is to not take everything they say as the ultimate TRUTH, only you can know what is true for you on your journey. 

My hope is that this inspired you to find a spiritual connection of your own understanding without feeling like it has to be a certain way or like you are doing it wrong. Because that's the farthest from the TRUTH.

(#27) What Causes Us to Feel Like We Aren't Good Enough?

What causes us to feel like we're not good enough?

Like we don't deserve something?

Or like, we aren't worthy of something?

These are all self limiting beliefs. And these can be things that you are consciously aware of, or it can be things that you are not consciously aware of that are subconsciously causing you to self sabotage in your life.

Signs of Self Limiting Beliefs:

-You feel small

-You feel ignored

-You feel like you aren’t important or valued

-You feel like people don’t want you around

-You feel like people don’t care about you

-You feel like people are bothered by you

-You have anxiety in social settings

-You worry about pleasing others

-You struggle with perfectionism

These are results of the self limiting belief “I’m not good enough”.

Most self limiting beliefs connect to the core belief of not feeling good enough. Feelings like I’m not deserving, I’m not worthy, I’m not capable, etc are all different variations of the core belief of not being good enough.

There's a lot of different ways self limiting beliefs show up in our lives. They can show up in our relationships, our jobs, our friendships, the care we give to ourselves, etc.

We are all spiritual beings living this human experience and the fact that you exist in and of itself means that you are completely good enough, worthy enough, deserving, etc. There's nothing you need to do. There's nothing you need to say. There's nothing you need to prove in order for that to be true.

If this is true, then why is it that so many of us have to make ourselves fall small? Why is it that so many of us feel like we have to restrict who we truly are in order to be loved and accepted? Why is it that so many of us are constantly sacrificing in order to feel good enough or to feel like we fit in? This is because of our self limiting beliefs. These self limiting beliefs start as early on as age zero and are formed through our entire lives.

Basically, what happens is situations take place within our lives and our brain assigns it some sort of meaning, then once we've assigned it a meaning, we start to show up in our lives based on the meaning we've given it. And then our situations continue to confirm that meaning, which solidifies a belief.

(#26) Transforming Self Hate into Self Love

In today's episode of the podcast, we're going to be talking about how to transform self hate into self love. We’re going to start by talking about what self hate might look like in your life. There's a lot of ways that we practice self hate without actually realizing it.

Ways self hate might be showing up in your life:

- working yourself past the point of burnout

- how you’re treating your physical bod

- anxiety

- not pursuing things that you actually desire

- the way that you speak about yourself

- the people and places you spend your time

-people pleasing

-perfectionism

These are often rooted in the subconscious beliefs that you are not good enough, worthy enough, capable enough, etc. So rather than confidently showing up in the world as your most authentic self, you keep yourself restricted and keep yourself small, which is the opposite of self love and self acceptance.

If you go out in the world, with the intention to be liked, and people don't like you, then you’ve failed at your intention. But if instead you learn to set the intention of rather than going out in the world to be liked, go out into the world with the desire to be authentic, to be true, to be your true self, then when you go out into the world, and you show up as this version of yourself, if people like you, you were successful at what you did, if people do not like you, you were still successful at what you did, because your intention was not dependent on other people's perceptions of you and other people's views of you. That is an act of radical self love.

Naturally as you start to do this, there are going to be people and things in your life that fall off. And that's okay. Because those things were only in alignment with the version of yourself that was small, the version of yourself that you compacted and constricted and restricted, in order to be loved, validated, approved of and respected. The beautiful thing is, in our life as things fall off, it creates space for new things to be born. And these things are in alignment with that true version of yourself.

And so there's no one path to this, it looks very different for everybody. For me, there was a lot of self care that went into this every single night putting oils in my diffuser, washing my face, putting my phone in a totally different room, reading my book, spending time with my partner. Waking up in the morning, not going on my phone. Getting movement practices, meditating, spending time with spiritual texts, journaling, all sorts of things like that just to have those moments of intimate connection with myself and showing myself care and showing myself love. As this became a practice, it became a practice in other areas of my life too.

Self love is something you embody, not something that you do.

(#25) 3 Steps to Having a Positive Mindset

Today's episode of the Live Life Extraordinary Podcast is all about having a positive mindset. The mind tends to be one of the strongest things that steers us in the wrong direction. If our mindset is unhealthy and negative, it causes us to have a disconnect from ourselves spiritually and a disconnect from our bodies.

There's a lot of stuff happening in the mind like: overthinking things, creating lists of things to do, coming up with reasons why we're not capable of doing things and why we're not good enough. The mind is where we store a lot of our trauma, trauma also gets stored in the body, but a lot of it is intellectualized in the mind.

We have a conscious mind that we're very aware of and we have the subconscious mind where some of our lesser known and recognized thought processes are taking place.

If you have a negative mindset, it is going to affect the way you show up in your life in your relationships, your career, your life purpose, etc. The mindset that you have about yourself and about the world around you, controls basically everything. You can be subconsciously, self sabotage and engage in behaviors that are not of your highest good.

Every single day, we have somewhere between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts and about 90% of the thoughts you have today will be the exact same thoughts as you had yesterday. Now, if you are not actively working on your mindset, that means that these thoughts are going to be repeating over a course of time. These thoughts that are controlling your reality could be 10 or 20 years old. When we are children, and our mind is in the developmental phases, that shapes the way we think.

The mind can be tricky and can convince us that we need to be something else, do something else, go somewhere else, etc. In order to be good enough or worthy enough. Working on having a more positive mindset, a more aligned mindset is  beneficial in becoming the highest and best version of yourself and creating the highest and best version of your life. You can't have a negative mindset and be the highest version of yourself and be your soul's full essence. You can't be the best version of yourself with a negative mindset.

Reworking your mindset starts with being present and building awareness. If you are unconsciously going throughout your day, getting frustrated/irritated or avoiding your feelings by scrolling online or watching TV the first step is to become aware of what your thoughts are. What are you thinking about your job? What do you think about your relationship? How do you think about yourself? When you look in the mirror? What do you think about the people that you see, when you scroll online? Just start to get curious about the types of thoughts that you're having. And then after you have this awareness, the next part is to recognize that you are not your thoughts. This is incredibly important. Because we get so caught up in believing everything that we think is true. The first thought that you have in any given situation is often the programmed response, underneath that, is your soul's truth.

Once you have the awareness and you separate from the thoughts, it's then about choosing again, choosing the positive thoughts that are in alignment with your greatest truth.

(#24) I'm Giving Up on Manifestation... And Maybe You Should Too?

Manifestation is incredible and so are you. You have the ability to be, do and have EVERYTHING that your heart desires but is manifestation the solution? Or is focusing on manifestation creating more of a problem?

Over the last several years of my personal journey with self healing, personal growth, spiritual awakening, etc. I have manifested MANY incredible things, things that added value to my life, things that allowed me greater freedom, joy and fulfillment BUT not nearly as much as healing, self love and self care has provided me. 

I manifested my dream house but laid depressed in my bedroom for 2 years. I manifested an incredible business but was only anxious, frustrated, stressed and burnt out. 

We only ever want to manifest something because of how we think it will make us feel, we want more money because we expect a sense of freedom. We want a relationship because we think it will make us feel loved and supported. We want, we want, we want but then when these things arrive and we're still depressed, anxious, frustrated, etc we immediately start trying for the "next thing".

Focusing on our ability to manifest can leave us constantly wishing for the future without ever enjoying the greatness of the now. If we spend our whole lives doing this, we wish our entire life away. 

The truth is I experienced the most amount of healing in my life when I learned how to self heal and allowed myself to FINALLY be my true self without needing to prove my innate enoughness. I experienced more joy when I stopped trying to get the "next thing" and instead learned how to be present and experience the joy of right now. I experienced more love when I learned how to unconditionally love myself then when I had a room full of friends that loved me. 

The key to your greatest life is you. 

There has been so much suffering in the last 2 years and manifesting a new car isn't going to fix it. A new career isn't going to fix it. A better relationship won't fix it. But learning to self heal, learning to love yourself, learning to be more gentle, to be kinder, to judge less, to self regulate, might just fix some of that. 

And that's what the world really needs, we don't need more of the external things. We need more of the internal relationship, the internal connection. 

And that's what I intend to give to you ♥

(#23) Self Care is a LIFESTYLE, Not a Morning Routine

In today's episode of the Live Life Extraordinary Podcast, we talk about self care and why it's a lifestyle, and not just a routine of things you do in the morning.

Self Care is anything that you're doing, to take care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically or spiritually. This can be things like yoga, breathwork, meditation or journaling, but it can also be things like, what you're eating, if you're exercising, the types of relationships you're participating in, how much media you're consuming, what type of media you're consuming, etc.

Living a self care “lifestyle” is about, every single moment of your life, assessing what is going to be for your best and highest good, and then making the decisions that are in alignment with that.

It can feel really good to lay down after work and watch Netflix while binge eating your favorite snacks, but is that of your best and highest good? Probably not.  Self care is not just about  waking up in the morning and meditating for 10 minutes, it’s a conscious choice in every moment of your life.

Living a self care lifestyle takes both boundaries and priorities. It's about prioritizing yourself in your life, which sounds very selfish but in reality, when you prioritize yourself, and prioritize the care of yourself, you are able to show up as the best version of yourself, for your family, in your household, at your job, etc.

Think about how you interact with the people and things in your life when you are in a really good mood, when you're really taking care of, when you're well rested, when you're feeling good. Then think about how you interact with those same people and things on days when you're exhausted, burnt out, stressed, frustrated, angry, etc. The interactions you have are probably much different. That's why self care is so important. Because as you become the highest and best version of yourself, you can show up in your life as that version of yourself. When you prioritize yourself, you are prioritizing your career, your health, your family, your wealth. You prioritize EVERYTHING in your life when you choose to prioritize yourself first.

The second thing is boundaries. We as a society tend to struggle with boundaries, we are constantly trying to please other people and seem to have a hard time saying “no” to things and many of us believe (either consciously or subconsciously) that setting boundaries is mean. But there's nothing about boundaries that has to be aggressive, or assertive, or rude or mean. It actually comes from a really loving space. You are loving, honoring and respecting yourself and your time enough to communicate with those around you to let them know what you're in need of. And 9 times out of 10 they're going to be very respectful of that because the people around you want what's best for you too. But it's not just about having boundaries with the people and things in our lives, we often neglect to realize that having boundaries with ourselves is very, very important and valuable as well. What I mean by this is, if you say to yourself, every morning when I wake up I'm not going to check my phone for the first 10 minutes of my day because it makes me stressed and anxious, that is setting a boundary with yourself. (#22) The Road to Self Healing

*Trigger warning* This episode talks about trauma, what it is, signs of trauma, complexity of trauma, self healing, etc. If you have experienced trauma that has significantly impacted you please proceed at your own discretion.

In today's episode of the Live Life Extraordinary podcast, we're going to be talking about trauma and about self healing. Everybody on Earth has experienced some sort of trauma at some point within our lives. We often believe that trauma is a major event like what war veterans experience or someone in an abusive relationship experiences or someone in a really bad car accident experiences. But trauma very simply put, is anything that dysregulates the central nervous system. So you could be walking out of the bathroom at your house and someone that you live with as a joke could jump out to scare you and if it is a form of dysregulation, it was a form of trauma. It seems really, really silly but it's important for us to recognize this because there are a lot of traumatic experiences that happen in our lives and unless we are learning what trauma really is, and how it presents itself, and how we can heal it and move through it and process it, then we're going to continue to live with all of these experiences ingrained in our body, our minds, our hearts and our souls. And it's going to hold us back from being the version of the self that we want to be and living the version of our lives that we desire to live. 

In terms of trauma, the complexity of trauma has nothing to do with how severe the trauma is but at what age you experienced the trauma, which I think is very fascinating. Simple trauma is any type of trauma we experience in our adult years, complex trauma is anything we experience in our childhood years. This is because between the ages of zero and seven, everything that we are experiencing as we are in those developmental phases, gets ingrained within our bodies and our minds as the foundation. So if we are starting life in very traumatic situations, we are forming a foundation based on these situations, and then it's a little bit more challenging to heal from them. 

Regardless of whether you have trauma that's simple or complex, there is space for healing. If you’re an adult and you're not sure whether you have any trauma that you're holding on to and that's inhibiting your life, some of the signs that you can recognize of trauma are being chronically upset, whether that's chronically anxious, or depressed, or frustrated or angry or sad, or anything like that. And it might seem like there's no root to it, like “I just always felt irritated and I don't know why” or “I'm just always so frustrated and I don't know why”.

Another thing is chronic pain. If you are somebody who has chronic pain and you've gone to a doctor and a chiropractor and a massage therapist, yet for some reason, there seems to be no root cause, it could be mental and emotional trauma that has been stored within your physical body that is now being stuck there. Unfortunately, as humans, we are taught to be strong and to be rigid, and to hold ourselves together and to pull ourselves together, so we don't allow ourselves the time or the space to sit and  process what we've gone through and release it.

This episode is an interactive one, grab a journal and a pen to write down your responses.
Prosperity and Abundance
Think about material well-being, money, physical belongings, etc.
Close your eyes and feel into your prosperity and your abundance and rate on a scale of 1 to 10 then ask yourself the following questions:
Do I have enough?
Do I believe that I have enough?
What relationship do I desire to have with my material wealth with my prosperity and with my abundance?
Passions
The things that really light you on fire, the things that make you want to get out of bed in the morning. This is where you feel joy and excitement.
Rate it on a scale of 1-10. Then ask yourself the following questions:
What brings me joy?
Do I allow myself the time and space to enjoy my life?
Physical Health
More than just our weight, our physical health is how energetic we feel, whether we feel tense and have muscle pain or we feel relaxed and at ease. It's whether we feel at home and comfortable within our bodies, or if we feel foreign in our bodies.
Rate on a scale of 1-10, then ask yourself the following questions:
What thoughts and feelings do I have about my body?
What do I want to experience and feel in my physical body?
Love and Relationships
More than your romantic partner, this is the relationships that you have with your friends and family. If you're feeling out of alignment in this area of your life, you might be desiring more relationships with people that understand you on a soul level.
Rate this area of your life on a scale of 1-10, then ask yourself:
What do I desire to experience in love and in my relationships?
What is the next level that I'm yearning to reach in my relationships?
Purpose and Calling
Your unique gift to the world. This is the influence that you get to share with the people and the places around you. These are the ideas and inspirations that you have that help make the world a better place.
Rating your purpose and calling on a scale of 1-10. Then ask:
Why am I here?
How do I want to impact, influence, uplift, empower, and inspire others to make a difference in this life?
How do I feel called to share my gifts with the world?
Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
In this area of your life, you might want to get more in tune with your emotions, express them more fully and be able to process them in a healthy way. Or you might want more mental clarity and healthier thought patterns.
Rate on a scale of 1 to 10 then ask yourself:
What relationship do I have to my feelings and emotions?
Do I allow myself to express feelings and emotions fully?
What's the general theme of my thought patterns?
What thoughts do I desire to have about myself, about others and about the world around me?
Spiritual Connection
You are a soul having a human experience. There is a higher power, whether that's God or the universe, or angels or ancestors, or whatever it is that you believe in personally. In this area of your life you might be desiring a deeper connection to your own soul or to a higher power
On a scale of one to ten, where are you with your spiritual connection?
What relationship do I wish to have with power that is larger than me?
What relationship do I wish to have with the soul that resides within me?
Now look back on each of your responses.
Which area of your life has the biggest gap between where you currently are and where you aspire to be?

(#20) Affirm It: Your Guide to Creating the Most Powerful and Effective Positive Affirmations!

Today's Episode is all about Positive Affirmations. Learn why you should use them, how to create ones that are effective, and ways that you can use your positive affirmations once you craft the ones that are ideal for you.

Positive affirmations or mantras, are words or phrases that you can recite to yourself either silently, out loud or in written form, in order to reframe your mindset. For example, if you're struggling with anxiety, you can use affirmations like “I am at peace” or “peace begins with me”. What we focus on will grow. If you have constant thoughts about your fear, your anxiety and judgments of yourself, your neuro pathways, fire information from one neuron to the other, will strengthen and cause you to have more of these fears, anxieties and judgements.

Let's say you have a neural pathway in your brain that's all about fear and anxiety, every time you think about fear and anxiety, it comes a little bit faster, and a little bit easier to your mind. If instead, you’re thinking about the sensations of peace and calm, the pathway to anxiety will start to weaken and the pathway to peace and calm is going to start to strengthen.

One of the ways that we can start to rework these neural pathways is through positive affirmations.

Tips for creating custom affirmations:

1.  State your affirmations as if they are already true. Avoid using phrases like I will, I should, I wish, I desire, I hope I pray, etc. Instead use phrases like I am or I have. Affirmations like I will be peaceful or I desire peace or I pray for peace tell your brain that you aren’t already peaceful and  reinforces the stress or anxiety that you're going through. Use affirmations, like I am at peace, or I am grateful for the peace I experience in my life. If you’re in a really crappy situation, it might be hard for you to believe your affirmations. If your brain doesn’t believe your affirmations it will ignore them and continue focusing on the reality that it knows to be true.

2. Use positive statements to focus on what you desire.  Don’t use affirmations like I am debt free, I am losing weight or I am not broke because you're focusing in on the debt, on the anxiety weight or whatever it is you’re trying to let go of. Focus your affirmations insetad on the abundance that comes from not being in debt, or the freedom that comes from not being in debt and focusing specifically on what it is you desire. This is important because if I tell you not to think of a purple elephant. Basically your brain has to focus on the debt, anxiety, weight, judgement, etc to "unthink" it.

Three ways to use your affirmations:

  • Recite them in meditation
  • Write them in your journal
  • Say them to yourself in the Mirror

Yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling and similar practices have all been on the rise with self care movements over the last several years. 

Whether you started practicing self care for mental clarity or emotional balance, it's important to understand that self care is very deeply a spiritual practice and is an essential part of manifestation.

 When we are stressed, frustrated and anxious we have a lot of "stuff" clogging up our minds that effect our manifestation power, when we feel crummy we don't want to take aligned action and often end up sabotaging our manifestations and when all of this is taking place we experience blocks in our spiritual connection.

 You can't listen to your soul if the mind is in control. Your self care time is your opportunity to truly get to know yourself, to show yourself radical love, to come into full alignment, to get clear on what you truly desire to experience in this life.

Have you ever heard of signs and synchronicities?

Things like angel numbers, pennies from heaven, spirit animals and more showing up in your reality.

Purple Elephants, Pineapples and Roses are all signs that I asked the universe/god/spirit to show me if I was on the right path or was being supported and they are ALL signs that I received BUT I never saw them in physical form... one was a billboard, one was a businesses logo and one was in an Instagram post. If I wasn't open to a world of possibilities I might have missed them!

Some signs show you that you're on the right track, while other signs are just showing you that you are supported even in difficult times. So how can you tell what the signs are telling you? Can you ask for signs about specific people or situations? What if you aren't receiving signs, does that mean you're on the wrong path?

We are ALWAYS manifesting. Manifestation is simply the process of taking something that was once a dream or part of our imagination and bringing it into physical form. That bowl of cereal that you were thinking about that you got up and poured for yourself? #manifested. 

Manifestation is a MIND-BODY-SPIRIT practice. You have to have the right MINDset for manifesting your deepest desires, if you don't believe it's possible or that you are worthy of it, then you won't create it. If you don't emBODY it and take the physical action, you can't create it. Even, if you have the mindset and the embodiment, inviting your spirit to join in on your manifesting journey is where the real magic happens.

(#11) What does it mean to live an extraordinary life?

There are so many people out in the world living truly extraordinary lives. Some are traveling to different countries experiencing all that this world has to offer. Some are millionaires hanging out on their yachts. Some are NYT best selling authors, living in their divine life purpose. So how can you begin living a truly extraordinary life?

Well, the only way is to tune into your heart and your soul and decide what YOU truly want. Maybe you want to sell all your belongings and start living in an RV. Maybe you want to start a blog with your amazing cooking recipes. Maybe you want to retire early and go sit on a beach enjoying the sun shine. There is no RIGHT way to live "extraordinary" and no way of living is more extraordinary than the other. 

The truly extraordinary thing is know what you truly want and allowing yourself to have that, period. 

Now depending on how you were brought up and what influences you have had, you might have subconscious beliefs about yourself and the world around you. That's totally OKAY. This is the case for many of us. I recommend doing belief work and inner child healing to help you release your unconscious patterns and beliefs so that you can fearlessly go after the life of your dreams.
