Andrew Brown Jr.'s son describes what he saw on police video 05:37
Elizabeth City, North Carolina (CNN)Six days after Andrew Brown Jr. was fatally shot by police, protesters gathered again Monday to call for the release of the body camera footage they hope will answer questions surrounding his death.
Peaceful demonstrations have taken place in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, since Wednesday, the day the 42-year-old Black man was fatally shot by Pasquotank County sheriff's deputies, who according to authorities were attempting to serve him an arrest warrant.
Protesters have called for the release of police bodycam footage, which authorities say they are prevented from making public without a court order. Brown's family was shown footage Monday though the clip was only 20 seconds long, said family attorney Chantel Cherry-Lassiter who was also shown the video.
Men and Women are accepting their responsibility to make their communities a safe and peaceful place to live. Due to serious economical time there has been an increase of gun violence and crime with most of its victims being women and children. The safety of the women, children and elderly in the community must be paramount.
There must be a collective effort from all religious, social, law enforcement and grass root organizations to bring peace to these communities. Peace is the common denominator that allows us to transcend above our religious, political and racial differences.
We all want Peace in our homes, community and in the world. But there is no Peace when there is no justice. We must work hard to establish justice for all regardless of class, greed, or color. Where there is Love and harmony there is Peace of mind. We believe when peace is present, violence is absent. Peace is not just the absence of war or violence, but peace is the absence of conflicts, and all conflicts are not violent.
We all must as Peacekeepers eliminate these conflicts so that we can together to create an environment of peace.

On todays's episode Damien and Jermaine Johnson give us their thoughts on the conclusion to the controversy two weeks ago with Simon Properties terminating thier lease in a space at South Park mall in Charlotte, after only being there since January. The community rallied around the Johnson brothers and now hear what happened in their meeting with Simon properties.
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - After an overwhelming push from the community, No Grease Knights of the Razor Barbershop will be staying at SouthPark Mall for the duration of their lease.
The owners of No Grease Knights of the Razor Barbershop, a Black barbershop in SouthPark Mall, finally heard from mall management.
SouthPark Mall management sent WBTV this statement:
“We are pleased to report that Knights of the Razor by No Grease will be staying at SouthPark for the duration of their temporary lease. We have delayed our other deal until next year and will be discussing with Mr. Damian Johnson and Mr. Jermaine Johnson the possibility of a permanent location for their barbershop beyond their current temporary lease term. Our other 4 locations with No Grease are all permanent leases. We’ve enjoyed a productive and growing relationship with No Grease for the past decade and look forward to expanding our relationship in the future.”
An ugly family exchange was thrust into public view Saturday when Kirk Franklin’s estranged son published audio of the gospel legend berating him in a profanity-laden phone call that ends with his father screaming, “I will break your neck. Don’t you ever disrespect me.”
The elder Franklin, 51, is a beloved and influential figure in the gospel music world and is widely credited with popularizing modern gospel in the mainstream. He posted an apology to his fans later that night that drew even more attention — and polarized reactions — to the rancorous father-son exchange. By Sunday, “Kirk Franklin” was a Twitter trending topic.
Kerrion Franklin, 32, posted a clip of the exchange on Instagram on Saturday and included a caption that said he doesn’t feel safe around his father. “I don’t think I’ll ever trust my father to be alone around him ever again,” he wrote.
Piers Morgan has wished Alex Beresford "good luck" after the pair clashed on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain, hours before he quit the show.. The 55-year-old confirmed he was leaving GMB after five years, amid an Ofcom investigation into his coverage of Oprah Winfrey's Meghan Markle interview.
State Sen. Liz Krueger, a prominent Democrat from Manhattan, also urged Cuomo to step down, saying: "Our state is rightly crying out for truthful, transparent government. The people's business is too pressing to continue to be derailed in this way."
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie did not explicitly call for Cuomo to step down, but he said he shares Stewart-Cousins' "sentiment" about "the governor's ability to continue to lead this state."
Shocking allegations emerged from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey Sunday night. The Duchess of Sussex accused the palace of flagrant racism, while Harry painted a bleak picture of royal life.
Prince Harry and Meghan lifted the lid on life in the British royal family in an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Meghan found life as a royal so difficult that she had suicidal thoughts, and said there were "concerns" in the family about baby Archie's skin color.
Harry said Prince Charles stopped taking his calls for a while, and that he was cut off financially in 2020.
On this episode George Floyds Slwyn Jones speaks to us.
Selwyn Jones’ nephew, George Floyd, died in police custody Monday in Minneapolis after an officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes while Floyd laid handcuffed on the street.
A bystander video shows that Floyd yelled out multiple times that he couldn’t breathe, and the footage sparked national protest, including a demonstration set in Rapid City which Jones plans to attend this weekend.
The four officers involved in the case have been fired as the incident remains under investigation by the FBI and state law enforcement. Derek Chauvin, the officer shown in the video kneeling on Floyd's neck, was charged Friday with third degree murder.
“It’s pretty bad when you wake up and see (that) video in the news,” said Jones, a 54-year-old man from Gettysburg, South Dakota. “I’m thinking, 'Wow, not again.' Then my wife looks at me and says, 'You know who that is?'”First Challenge in George Floyd Murder Trial: Finding an Impartial Jury
Jury selection is scheduled to begin on Monday in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged in connection with Mr. Floyd’s death.
Jury selection is set to begin on Monday, in a courtroom built to comply with pandemic protocols and outfitted with television cameras. Mr. Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Before his trial begins, he could face an additional charge of third-degree murder, the Minnesota Court of Appeals ruled on Friday, in a decision that could delay the start of jury selection because Mr. Chauvin has the option to appeal.

Trump shared the video on his @realDonaldTrump account, which has more than 82 million followers, with the message, "Thank you to the great people of The Villages." The tweet was deleted about three hours later following an uproar over the phrase "white power," a racist slogan used by white supremacists.

Members of Congress put themselves on a collision course with the White House on Thursday over the politics of America's Confederate legacy.
The Republican-led Senate Armed Services Committee adopted an amendment that would create a commission charged with renaming Army installations that bear Confederate names and removing their Confederate symbols.
A bipartisan team of House members, both veterans, proposed something similar.

The speaker told reporters she didn't believe she has the power to do so herself — effectively daring the Republicans who control the Senate to go along.

The speaker can move statues around within the Capitol but not take them out of it, she said.

Washington (AFP) - Protesters defied curfews across the United States as leaders scrambled to stem anger over police racism while President Donald Trump rejected criticism over his use of force to break up a peaceful rally.
Standoffs between police and demonstrators stretched into the night in cities from New York to Los Angeles over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed African-American man whose killing has brought once-in-a-generation protests to the nation for the past week.
But there were fewer reports of the looting and violence that had soured street demonstrations in previous nights.
Tens of thousands gathered earlier Tuesday in Houston to pay a hometown tribute to Floyd, who grew up in the Texas city and is to be buried there next week.
"Today is... about George Floyd's family -- we want them to know that George did not die in vain," Mayor Sylvester Turner told an estimated 60,000 people.
A tearful Roxie Washington, the mother of Floyd's six-year-old daughter, told a news conference she wanted "justice for him because he was good.
"No matter what anybody thinks, he was good."
In New York, which on Tuesday prolonged its first curfew since World War II for the full week, AFP reporters saw hundreds refusing to go home after the 8:00 pm cutoff, instead chanting slogans and peacefully walking the streets in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Hours after the curfew, mayor Bill de Blasio said it was a "very calm situation," a day after several Manhattan luxury stores were looted.
"So far, the curfew is certainly helping, based on everything I've seen in Brooklyn and Manhattan over the last three hours," he tweeted.
Minnesota took one of the first concrete actions to address the grievances behind the uprising, which began after Floyd's death on May 25 in the state's largest city Minneapolis.
An FBI investigation is underway and four officers have been fired following a fatal encounter Monday between Minneapolis police and an unarmed black man.
In a statement early Tuesday, police said the man had a medical incident during an attempted arrest. However, video of the encounter shows an officer with his knee on the man’s neck for at least seven minutes. Before the man loses consciousness, he repeatedly tells officers that he can’t breathe.
Leaders in Minnesota are calling for the officers involved to be held accountable. Rep. Ilhan Omar, who represents Minneapolis, called for the Department of Justice to investigate immediately.
“It is sickening to watch this black man be killed while helplessly begging for help,” she said in a statement.
Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan also reacted to the incident, calling the video “disturbing” and demanding justice.
“The lack of humanity in this disturbing video is sickening. We will get answers and seek justice,” Walz said.

A CDC study released Wednesday found that over 80% of the COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Georgia last month were black. It's the latest analysis showing that communities of color are being hit disproportionately hard by the coronavirus.
The study comes just days after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp started reopening some of the state's businesses — a move condemned as premature and dangerous by local black leaders as well as public health officials and even President Trump.
The study from the CDC, which is headquartered in Atlanta, surveyed eight hospitals in the state — seven in the Atlanta metro area and one southern Georgia. In the sample of 305 COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized in March, 247 — or 83.2% — were black. By comparison, 32 patients (10.8%) were white, 10 (3.4%) were Hispanic and eight (2.7%) were Asian or Pacific Islander.
"The proportion of hospitalized patients who were black was higher than expected based on overall hospital admissions," the study says.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms on Wednesday expressed her disagreement with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp's decision to re-open the state, claiming it will be "deadly" for many people in her community.
"It concerns me deeply that we are still seeing an upward trend in our state and we are rushing to reopen businesses," she said on CBSN.
"What I've said is I hope the governor is right and I'm wrong, because if he's wrong more people will die," Bottoms added.
As the U.S. economy continued to worsen dramatically with another staggering jobless claims report out Thursday, President Donald Trump said Thursday some states could start reopening "literally tomorrow."
Trump's plan to re-open the American economy after a near-total shutdown consists of three graduated phases.
In a call with governors, state leaders were instructed that they could move through the guidelines at their own pace and that the guidelines are not formal orders from the federal government, according to a person familiar with the call.
"Encouraging developments have put us in a very strong position to finalize guidelines for states on reopening the country," Trump said earlier Thursday, as the U.S. death toll from the coronavirus pandemic neared 30,000 Wednesday evening.

The number of coronavirus infections closed in on a half-million worldwide Thursday, with both Italy and the U.S. on track to surpass China, and a record-shattering 3.3 million Americans applied for unemployment benefits in a single week in a stark demonstration of the damage to the world's biggest economy.
Health care systems in Europe and New York buckled under the strain, with Spain's death toll climbing to more than 4,000.
In the U.S., an unprecedented $2.2 trillion economic rescue package to help businesses, hospitals and ordinary Americans make it through the crisis cleared the Senate and is expected to be voted on in the House on Friday. The plan would dispense checks of $1,200 per adult and $500 per child.
NORTH CAROLINA — The number of cases of novel coronavirus, also know as COVID-19, in North Carolina jumped by more than 100 overnight, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
The news comes hours after Mecklenburg County health officials confirm that as many as a third of the county's 106 cases come from community spread. Community spread means the person came in contact with COVID-19 through unknown means and not through travel or by direct contact with someone who has tested positive.
"Every zip code in our county now has a positive case," Mecklenburg County Manager Dena Diorio said in the town hall Monday. "And what that tells us is we do have community spread." Since health officials are unable to determine the source of the spread, residents must treat every interaction as a potential source of COVID-19 exposure, she said, the Charlotte Observer reported.

I felt so sorry for Kobe Bryant‘s parents during the funeral during the memorial service this past week… I couldn’t imagine feeling like a stranger at my own child’s funeral… They look like invited guest… We don’t know the inside of the workings of their relationship but in this episode we give different scenarios of the parent child relationship when the child is the breadwinner of the family... Should the parents lean on the financial security of what their child can give them… is it worth being at odds with our child if we feel they don’t give back what we think we deserve as parents
I wanted to write a poem but it ended up being a love letter about my relationship with my wife… I’ve been knowing my wife now for 35 years...we met in 1985 at Shaw University in Raleigh North Carolina… I was 20 years old she was 18 years old from South Plainfield New Jersey and I was a country boy from Goldsboro North Carolina born and raised in rual North Carolina… I remember the first time I saw her I was in the men’s dormitory looking out of the window and suddenly she appeared walking across campus.....one of my best friends at that time was standing with me and when I opened my mouth I said that’s my wife right there..... I’ve never seen her before but I knew that was the woman that would be my wife… Sometimes when we’re together I keep reminding her of how much of a miracle that was that we are here today with a family out of a first time encounter... My son is 17 about to be 18 in March of this year… And I told him I believe the same thing is going to happen to you that happened to me and your mother. I have to tell you there’s nothing like knowing somebody loves you and there’s nothing like growing up together in love with a person that you knew so young... Even though we have had our ups and downs in our marriage but my wife has never ever put me down... when we’ve had a lack of money or circumstances turn dire she always was by my side... I never share anything on my personal side like this but I just felt compelled to do so it may help somebody in their marriage to go back and Fetch the feelings of affection that you had for one another and why you got together in the first place… Don’t give up on each other go back and remember why you started your relationship in the first place and be at peace with each other...
It's been said that his legacy is complicated because of a sexual assault charge, which was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you as a woman, as a WNBA player?
It's not complicated for me at all. Even if there's a few times that we've been at a club at the same time, Kobe's not the kind of guy – never been, like, you know, 'Lis, go get that girl, or tell her or send her this.' I have other NBA friends that are like that. Kobe was never like that. I just never, have ever seen him being the kind of person that would do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That's just not the person that I know.
But Lisa, you wouldn't see it, though. As his friend, you wouldn't see it.
And that's possible.I just don't believe that. And I'm not saying things didn't happen. I just don't believe that things didn't happen with force.
Is it even a fair question to talk about it considering he's no longer with us and that it was resolved? Or is it really part of his history?
I think that the media should be more respectful at this time. It's like if you had questions about it, you had many years to ask him that. I don't think it's something that we should keep hanging over his legacy. I mean, it went to trial.
Yeah, well, the case was dismissed because the victim in the case refused to testify. So, it was dismissed.
And I think that that's how we should leave it.
Why do you think people are so deeply affected, in many cases, by a man they did not know?
I really think it's the idea that you rooted for him or you didn't, but that was an emotion evoked either way.
You know what I keep thinking Lisa, it was probably just another ordinary day for them. And then in seconds, your life is forever changed.
Forever changed. It reminded about the quote about joy and sorrow are inseparable. And it's when joy is awake, sorrow is asleep. And it's just that. Like, sorrow has been awakened in my life, in their lives – in the world's life.
"For 20 seasons, Kobe showed us what is possible when remarkable talent blends with an absolute devotion to winning," NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement on Sunday. "He was one of the most extraordinary players in the history of our game with accomplishments that are legendary: five NBA championships, an NBA MVP award, 18 NBA All-Star selections, and two Olympic gold medals. But he will be remembered most for inspiring people around the world to pick up a basketball and compete to the very best of their ability. He was generous with the wisdom he acquired and saw it as his mission to share it with future generations of players, taking special delight in passing down his love of the game to Gianna."
Considering the impact that Bryant had on the game, and the fact that he had one of the most decorated careers in recent memory, the Hall's decision doesn't come as a surprise at all. However, the fact that Bryant won't be there himself will certainly put a damper on what would have been an otherwise celebratory evening. It's nice to know that Bryant will be where he belongs in the annals of basketball history surrounded by peers whose respect he earned through his dedication to the game, but it still stings that he won't get to experience the induction himself.
Kobe Bryant is gone.
I’m screaming right now, cursing into the sky, crying into my keyboard, and I don’t care who knows it.
Kobe Bryant is gone, and those are the hardest words I’ve ever had to write for this newspaper, and I still don’t believe them as I’m writing them. I’m still crying, and go ahead, let it out. Don’t be embarrassed, cry with me, weep and wail and shout into the streets, fill a suddenly empty Los Angeles with your pain.
No. No. No, damn it, no!
Bryant, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among nine people who died in a helicopter crash Sunday in Calabasas and how does that happen? Kobe is stronger than any helicopter. He didn’t even need a helicopter. For 20 years he flew into greatness while carrying a breathless city with him.
This can’t be true.
Kobe does not die. Not now. Kobe lives into his golden years, lives long enough to see his statues erected outside Staples Center and his jerseys inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. He lives long enough to sit courtside at Staples when he’s stooped and gray, keeping alive the memories of two decades of greatness with a wink, maybe even fooling everyone one last time by retiring in a community next to Shaq

Loni Love is facing major backlash after calling out the infidelity of Black men during a discussion on The Real.
The Real co-hosts were talking about Joe Budden’s comments on Kevin Hart’s infidelity when Loni decided to take a quick jab at Black men.
“I don’t speak for the Black community by I do think that a lot of Black men, they really don’t know how to have true, faithful relationships,” she said. “They think because they have money, they have power, that they can treat women any kind of way.”

I spoke with a Black woman from London who is vising Charlotte the other day about what black people in great Britan are saying about Prince Harry and Meagan Markle leaving the Royal family...Was it that she could not take the racism anymore? We spoke with Kate Jegede and got an interesting twist that you have never heard.
LONDON — When Prince Harry and Meghan announced this week that they would be stepping back from their royal duties and spending extensive time in North America, many of Britain’s minority residents said they felt a burst of relief.
At long last, many said in interviews, the couple might finally escape the abuse, much of it racially tinged, that has been heaped upon them by the British press, particularly the country’s raucous tabloids.
“Thank God they are free,” said Sanaa Edness, lifting her arms to the sky as she walked through Fordham Park in southeast London. “Nobody should tolerate bullying and abusive behavior because of the color of their skin. All of this is about her race. I know it because as a Caribbean woman who did not grow up here, I have experienced it myself.”

A day after President Trump backed away from further military conflict with Iran, a commander of the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps declared that Iran would soon take “harsher revenge” on the United States for a drone strike last week that killed a top Iranian general.
The slain commander, Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, had led the Quds Force, a powerful branch of the corps, and his death reverberated across the country, prompting calls for revenge and retaliatory strikes by Iran against two military bases in Iraq.
The barrage of missiles on Wednesday took no American lives, Mr. Trump said, and appeared to have inflicted little damage on air bases in Al-Asad and Erbil that house thousands of Iraqi and American servicemen and women. And though Tehran said afterward that it had “concluded proportionate measures” to avenge the killing of General Suleimani, officials in the region cautioned that Iran might not be done maneuvering and had not abandoned its goal to drive the United States out of the Middle East.
A senior commander in the Revolutionary Guards, Abdollah Araghi, said on Thursday that Iran’s armed forces would “impose harsher revenge on the enemy in the near future,” according to a translated report from Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
Casual killing is an American thing....right? Are we about to witness revenge killings on another level in the theatre of war....Are we about to go to war with Iran? We examine the mindset of leadership in terms of war and the mistakes that are about to be made on behalf of the American people by their Govt in regards to Iran. Can an impeached President start a war? #redflag #imminentthreat #war #pompeo #trump

Photographer Monique Bunn has filed a $50 million lawsuit against Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash for allegedly committing sexual battery.
In legal documents obtained by The Wrap, Bunn claims she was hired to shoot a campaign for Dash’s clothing line, Poppington, back in April. After the first day of shooting, the photog says she went back to Dame’s residence that he shares with partner Raquel Horn, where she was planning to spend one night in Dash’s daughter’s room. #alphamale #chrisbrown #rachelroy

It's a dark day in America.
The House of Representatives is set to impeach an elected President accused of violating the nation's trust and his oath to preserve, protect and defend bedrock constitutional values. Donald Trump will be only the third president in 240 years to be impeached -- the ultimate trauma for the system of checks and balances, which will unleash fury that will boil for years.
The 45th President will be charged by the House Democratic majority with two articles of impeachment, namely abusing his power and obstructing Congress in a scheme to lure Ukraine into interfering in the 2020 election.

Actor Billy Dee Williams caught wind of reports about him being "gender-fluid" and made it clear that his words were misunderstood. In fact, he doesn't even know what the term means.
In an interview with The Undefeated, the 82-year-old addressed the assumption after his interview with Esquire where he revealed his usage of the pronouns "himself" and "herself" when identifying his self.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot fired police Superintendent Eddie Johnson effective immediately Monday for intentionally misleading her and the public about his conduct when he was found asleep in his running vehicle at a stop sign after a late weeknight out in October.
“This moment needs to be a turning point for the Chicago Police Department and the way things are done in this city,” said Lightfoot, emphasizing that a “culture change” must take place.
The stunning announcement came just weeks after Lightfoot held what she referred to Monday as “a celebratory press conference” to announce Johnson’s retirement by year’s end after about 3½ years at the helm.
Former Los Angeles police Chief Charlie Beck, previously named Johnson’s interim successor, took control of the beleaguered department after flying into Chicago on Monday afternoon. He and the mayor separately met with the department’s top brass
Teacher Shortage. According to research by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), the teacher shortage could reach 200,000 by 2025, up from 110,000 in 2018. This shortage of workers is due to a number of factors. Among them are pay, working conditions, lack of support, lack of autonomy, and the changing curriculum. Eric Legette is our guest.. MORE is designed to provide proactive measures and action plans to alleviate pressure off teachers/administrators within schools experiencing a teacher shortage.
According to the Economic Policy Institute by the year 2025, the teacher shortage could reach 200,000.
Our area of expertise is classroom management. New teachers often struggle in this area and with an increased number of students in the classroom, there is a greater risk of classroom disruptions to occur. Current statistics show that new teachers leave at rates of somewhere between 19% and 30% over their first five years of teaching. A recent study by the Learning Policy Institute shows that if a teacher receives mentoring, collaboration, and extra resources, and is part of a strong teacher network, first-year turnover is cut by more than half. Unfortunately, just 3% of beginning teachers receive such support.
The goals are to:
· Provide enough assistance and resources for schools to encourage new teachers to stay past the first three years
· Our assistance and resources will contribute to maintaining or increasing student achievement
· Relieve pressure and stress off teachers and administrators
Our assistance will help teachers to continue to work efficiently... connect with him on linked in https://www.linkedin.com/in/eric-legette-m-ed-a16b9b10a
I believe the Kanye Is taking a beautiful journey imreaching down and pulling up the youth with his music in a non-traditional way of worshiping God… A lot of people have a problem with Kanye West and his newfound Christianity they don’t think he is real with it and my two cohost Shawn and Sundi try and make the point that Kanye is playing with this… I see the brother is real... you listen and determine for yourself.
Stephen a Smith from ESPN is upset that blacks are turning on him and his non-stop relentless assault against Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid… Black people are saying that he is a sell out and uncle Tom for his viewpoints.... and on this episode he recently called blacks idiots.... listen for yourself and listen to the logic of Stephen a Smith from a Neely Fuller audio cut of how blacks act in front of their white bosses to get their approval at the expense of your black constituency
I’ve been ready for three years, I’ve been denied for three years,” Kaepernick told assembled media following a 40-minute workout. “We all know why I came out here: to show you today, in front of everybody, we have nothing to hide. So we’re waiting for the 32 owners, the 32 teams, Roger Goodell, all of them, to stop running. Stop running from the truth, stop running from the people.”
It was a remarkable end to a remarkable day, a day that began with protesters at the gates of the sleek compound of the Atlanta Falcons and ended with a cheering crowd lining the chain-link fence of a high school 60 miles south. It included Kaepernick’s team staging a sudden last-minute walkout of the NFL-controlled workout, a move that allowed Kaepernick the luxury of demonstr
The male-female relationship in regards to the black agenda can be a little tricky… Sometimes men may be using language that women deem exclusionary in nature but may not be necessarily so… The conversation was brought up to remember to bring balance to the movement in terms of male-female equity in the conversations that we are having… I wanted you to hear what happened towards the end of our black agenda conversation we held at queens coffee bar 1720 Pegram Avenue in Charlotte on October 29th..Please give us your feedback and leave a comment and make sure you subscribe to the show on this platform
Question… How much do you think the most segregated school system in the state of North Carolina which is the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools system is going to change with a majority white school board trying to improve the lives of our black children… How do you think that’s gonna work out… Anette Albright who ran at large for the Charlotte Mecklenburg school board and I discuss this issueOn the 20 minute morning show the real people of Charlotte
Annette Albright (Nonpartisan) is a candidate for at-large member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education in North Carolina. Albright is running in the general election on November 5, 2019.
Albright was a candidate for District 1 representative on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education in North Carolina. Albright was defeated in the by-district general election on November 7, 2017.
Queen Thompson (Nonpartisan) is a candidate for at-large member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education in North Carolina. Thompson is running in the general election on November 5, 2019.

And part three of our four part series on a black agenda for Charlotte we talk about violence in the community brought on by the music we’re listening to… What do we believe in as a group… How can we work collectively… How can we support what is already taking place and we talk about misogyny and equality between black men and black women working in our community
This episode is part two of our conversation in a four part series of a black agenda conversation for Charlotte North Carolina.. The city of Charlotte has a 2040 plan and the question that we’re asking is where is our 40 year plan that the black community must come up with to survive outside of the government of Mecklenburg County, which has never done anything of substance to help black people out economically... In this episode we talk about the 93 murders at the time of this broadcast and about leadership with people wanting to lead and not come out of their silos and work together in various organizations.... also how we use language to address one another when talking about our condition as black people
This past Tuesday at Queens coffee bar 1720 Pegram St. in Charlotte we had a discussion about charlottes black agenda. The city of Charlotte has a 2040 plan that they are putting together, but what is our 2040 plan. The first 40 years of planning for the city of Charlotte certainly did not include us, so why would we sit around and allow this to happen again when we have full control of our destiny. This is part one of our discussion.
R&B crooner Tank caused quite the ruckus on social media after suggesting that a man giving another man oral sex more than once does not define his sexual orientation.

Elijah Cummings, Powerful Democrat Who Investigated Trump, Dies at 68
A son of sharecroppers, he fought tirelessly for his hometown, Baltimore, and became a key figure in the impeachment investigation of President Trump.
Get a chance to talk with long-time resident Danelle Dickson about gentrification on Baytes Ford Road in Charlotte. As the trolley line begins to make its way up Beatties Ford Road the face of the pipe line of the black community will change over the next couple of years. We discussed some of the issues with justification and the overall political status in Charlotte and what must take place.
For days now, Trump has been unable to slow the momentum of Democrats as they investigate whether he abused his power by trying to pressure Ukraine to dig for dirt on potential 2020 foe Joe Biden and his son Hunter. With the Democrats focused on getting Trump out of the white house, there is no talk about a black agenda and probably won't be leading up to the 2020 election
The REVOLT Summit dominated Atlanta this past weekend during our three-day event, which was put in place to allow rising moguls the opportunity to be enlightened and informed by people in positions of power who look like us. One panel in particular called “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics” focused on the importance of being vocal and educating yourself ahead of the 2020 election.
The panel discussion included activist and co-president of the 2019 Women’s March Tamika Mallory, rappers and activists T.I. and Killer Mike, activist and former spokesperson for the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign Katrina Pierson, American conservative commentator Candace Owens, and Steven Pargett of Dream Defenders. Journalist Jeff Johnson moderated the conversation.
Had a interesting conversation with two business women in the city of Charlotte about gentrification… We want to have a series of conversations with black people on their thoughts on how to solve the affordable housing crisis and how black people must unite to create wealth in the city of Charlotte... If this is the number two banking capital in the United States why don’t we have some of this wealth spread to the black community as we are number 50 out of the top 50 largest cities in America, how could this be that we are last in poverty? Who are our greatest enemies in Charlotte keeping us from acquiring wealth?
12-year-old Jaylin Clyburn started mowing lawns to save for college this summer.@Lowes and @RiverboatRonHC heard his story and got him all new equipment for his growing business.....Should the Panters and Lowes also give him scholarship money? People are upset that they missed that opportunity..we discuss
Is Cam Newton serious about playing football or is the more about a fashion show before and after the game… People can say whatever they want to say but the 2015 Cam Newton has left the building and now I don’t know who this dude is. He’s not winning and it doesn’t seem like he wants to make it to another Super Bowl to prove that he is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game even though he has statistics and records that stand today but we want the old Cam Newton back playing at the level we know he’s capable of… Something happened to him..
A black woman named Carolyn J Ruff is continuing the boycott of a Korean beauty supply chain called Missha beauty supply for almost 2 years… She was inspired by what happened in Charlotte in 2017 when a black woman was beaten by the store owner for allegedly stealing eyelashes. The store owner in Charlotte punched kick and threw a black woman to the ground.
If black people can unify over chicken you know that we can pool our dollars nickels dimes and quarters together to carve out a future for our people… No longer can black people say in my opinion that we don’t have resources even though my cohost have a differing opinion about the Popeyes chicken fiasco… I think God sometimes uses the most simple things to show us that it is possible for us to unify
This week, the NFL, with its $42 million-per man at the wheel, committed another act of putting up while shutting up. It named Jay-Z and his entertainment/rep company Roc Nation to “enhance the NFL’s live game experiences and to amplify the league’s social justice efforts.” Jay-Z also will contribute to and supervise Super Bowl halftime acts.
Is it just Donald Trump we can blame for the intense hatred in our country. With the mass shootings in Elpaso and Dayton, it is important to understand that this is not new to black people in America. Listen to our discussion on the mass shootings that have recently taken place and give us your feedback.
I don’t know what it’s like to be on drugs or addicted to crack or be a regular marijuana smoker. I never popped pills or any of that but I do have empathy for my people when I see them in that condition. The other day talked with a brother that I see frequently on Beatties Ford Road and LaSalle, and we had a conversation about his crack addiction and how he was struggling with it.
One of our cast members had the nerve to be critical of Reverend James Barnett who has been at the forefront of stopping the violence in Charlotte North Carolina with his organization called “Stop the killing”.. Shawn says she does not believe that what we did by calling for 1000 black men is the right strategy... listen to this episode and please comment.
White America wants to know whether black leaders have anything good to say about The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Corey Booker was asked by Dana Bash of CNN whether he would still meet with the Minister after saying he would 2 weeks ago at a campaign function. In this episode we discuss the Farrakhan litmus test. I belive it is the fear of losing something that allows our leaders to be punked by the mainstream media.
The Justice Department’s decision on Tuesday to decline to bring federal civil rights charges against Officer Pantaleo, is a slap in the face of all of Black America. What are the drastic steps we need to take to get the attention of our elected officials. It was one of the most riveting days of my life when I was sitting at home in 2014 watching CBS News and the images came of Eric garner being choked to death by NYPD we had no near no idea that there that would be a cascading affect of killing after killing of young black unarmed men by police in America
With Charlotte NC on a record pace to have 154 recorded murders on the roll according to Charlotte Mecklenburg police, people are doing their part all over the city. There are many organizations that are working very hard to curb the violence all over the city. So what di Adrian Sundiata mean when he stated, these Charlotte murders is our fault. I agree with him. I feel all black men in this city should feel responsible for our youth killing each other. We should take it very personal.
In this episode he tells a story of how an older man stepped in to disciple young brother and changed his life, because he was not afraid.
The question we must ask, is how deep is your love?

Jeffrey Epstein’s predatory behavior toward young women is horrific. A recent investigation found that he wired $350,000 to two people close to him, federal prosecutors revealed on Friday July 12th.
Mr. Epstein, a financier who now faces sex-trafficking charges in New York, was using the money to try to buy the silence of possible witnesses against him, the prosecutors said.
The United States attorney’s office in Manhattan made the new allegations in a court filing asking that Mr. Epstein be denied bail while he awaits trial, saying the payments were evidence that he might try to influence witnesses if he were not detained.
So who is worse him or R kelly?
Prosecutors have a new tool to help reduce the number of people dying in North Carolina from opioid overdoses, WTVD reports.
On Monday, Governor Roy Cooper signed into law the “death by distribution” act.
It allows prosecutors to charge drug dealers with second-degree murder.
Lawmakers and law enforcement say it is needed to put away high-level drug dealers.
A few days ago I got a chance to watch democracy now and the interview they did about Senator Kamala Harris‘s record as a prosecutor in California there was a law professor name Laura basil and who wrote a piece in the New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/17/opinion/kamala-harris-criminal-justice.html titled Kamala Harris was not a progressive prosecutor. On this episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show I wanted to bring up some points that we may not be discussing in the black community about Mrs. Harris and her record against black people and the poor as a prosecutor
Today we are talking about bullying and adult bullying. Some of my students from the Carolina School Of Broadcasting as we were chitchatting during one of our class sessions we decided to talk about bullying for our podcast and I brought up some scenarios and found out that some of them had bullied other people some of them had been bullies too.
Today we had a conversation about withholding the black vote… Since the Democrats seem to want to use black voters to get elected but black people always end up on the short end of the stick when it comes to economic growth.. wouldn't it be something if black people scared the hell out of the Democratic Party and said we are not going to vote for you until we sign a contract with you and help us get out of this economic depravity that we’ve been living under for years still hoping in a system that has never addressed our concerns...Is withholding the black vote and option for you? We discuss It
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show we talk to Keith Richards who started the breakfast brothers morning show with me back in 1995 in Charlotte he had some thoughts on the Phoenix cop and how they arrested the black couple for allegedly shoplifting lifting. We talk about reparations and we talk about life insurance policies and how we can set our families up for $15-$20 a month to make sure we leave a legacy for our children and Grand children plus Black Republicans A report from our UIN news team reveals who these black people are that love Donald Trump
Last week the Senate held a hearing on reparations. This discussion was about having a study to determine the damage done through slavery and what kind of repair is needed for the black community. We got into an emotional debate about reparations and what black people should be doing in the meantime to make sure that we have provided a future for our children while the struggle for reparations continues
Has the Vatican finally lifted the sanction on priest being allowed to get married… I hope so because it's time to give these children a break from being sexually abused by sexually deprived men and women in religion… Also are these plus size mannequins that you’re seeing in stores being targeted towards the black community to make us feel comfortable being overweight
The former football star claims he will use the account to talk sports, but he’s also bringing up all of the speculation that has swirled for decades around his infamous murder acquittal.

Got a chance to talk to a candid group of black people about how they contracted a sexually transmitted disease growing up as young people… They were very honest and transparent and want the young people to know that this is no joke… Their stories were told in a humorous way but we know that sexually transmitted diseases are no joke
Georgia Clark, a Fort Worth Independent School District teacher, has been fired from her position after she shot off several tweets to Donald Trump about alleged illegal immigrants at her school.
The Texas school district announced Wednesday that Clark was terminated with a vote of 8-0 by the school board.
Blacks are fairing no beter as we have faced inequity in education for centuries. What should be done about it in 2019?
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show we talk about artificial intelligence and the future of no jobs available for people all over the world… Robots are taking over warehouse jobs, truck drivers are being replaced and restaurant workers...is this another example of the evil Empire ruling over people and how can we let this happen? I said you can’t stop it you better make friends with these robots LOL. Also on today’s episode we talk about the new super sexually transmitted diseases which I think you’ll find interesting because Shawn and Sundi had some words on this one.
Congratulations to Jay Z the first rapper to become a bona fide billionaire. But one member of the cast is not happy about Jay Z‘s good fortune because she says billionaires are evil… On today’s episode we discuss Jay Z and help the black community should be responding to his good fortune. I can’t believe that we are in such dire straits as a community that we would not relish the chance to learn from his power moves and how he diversified his money to become a billionaire. Tune in now and see where you stand on this side of the debate.
Another Smear campaign has begun to muddy the legacy of Dr. Martin luther King jr. This Govt has alway hated Dr King. Here is the latest info they are going to release in 2027.
FBI documents from the 1960s allege Martin Luther King Jr. had affairs with 40 women and stood by as a friend raped a woman, a new report said.
An article by the King biographer David Garrow set to be released on Thursday in Standpoint magazine will detail the FBI memos, London's The Times reported.
Garrow said the memos say King engaged in orgies, solicited prostitutes, and "looked on and laughed" as a pastor he knew raped a woman.
The memos were part of a huge US National Archives data dump in early 2019.
The FBI secretly recorded King in a yearslong effort to discredit him. The tapes themselves remain under seal in the US National Archives. And Garrow's article was rejected by more prominent news outlets. So the story carries many unanswered questions about the accuracy of the FBI material.
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show Dionne Warwick recently stated that she did not believe that Beyoncé has reached icon status. We got into a debate about whether she has or not but I stated that maybe Dionne Warwick was trying to say that Beyoncé was not the best singer which I don’t believe she is however she does have the it factor to be an icon and what has Beyoncé done for the culture to warrant her being an icon. Check out our debate on Beyonce’s Icon status
“1994 Biden Crime Bill.” Joe Biden your former vice president takes full credit for this bill that for the last 25 years has been like an atomic bomb set off in the black community. When Joseph R. Biden Jr. became the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1987, a few months ahead of his first and ultimately unsuccessful presidential campaign, he told aides his goal was to enact legislation that would take a comprehensive approach to reducing crime.
How should Joe Biden be held accountable for what he did to our community? Does he deserve our vote? I say hell no!
Ice-T recently said that he was going to shoot an independent contractor who was delivering packages on behalf of Amazon. Amazon needs to give these independent contractors a uniform so they can be identified. Ice T thought that the man was trying to creep up on his property and rob him and he said he was going to shoot him and people are up in arms over his statement...... do you believe that he was justified in being angry..We debate this issue… Please let us know where you stand
Can you believe that somebody on my show has the nerve to say that what billionaire Robert F Smith did for those students at Morehouse College by paying off their student loan debt was not enough? Tune in to hear what Shawn had to say about it… You know it was her… Also why is Jada Pinkett telling everybody that she used to have a porno addiction..
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show Bishop MCclain who is the former president of the national Association of Black veterans had a interesting take on what post Trumatic stress disorder actually is you may or may not agree with him but it is worth taking a listen to this controversial assessment..
The Alabama abortion bill is very heavy. It must make America take a step back and look at this moral issue. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed into law the most restrictive abortion bill in the country -- a near-total ban on all abortions. According to Eric Johnston, president of the Alabama Pro-Life Coalition, who helped craft the legislation, the bill was specifically designed to go to the Supreme Court and challenge Roe v. Wade.
The new law would become enforceable in six months and would carry stiff penalties for those caught violating it. For example, doctors could face up to 99 years in prison for performing an abortion in the state.
Also Ayesha Curry is still having a black identity crisis. Her daughters recently said "I'm not black". She also said the black community is not embracing her.
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show we share some of the moments at our live broadcast from uptown Charlotte at the Marriott hotel with the Queen city podcast network. In this episode we talked about illegal guns we talk about the Steve Harvey television show being canceled and other topics... also in this episode you’ll hear Monifa Drayton as she sat in for Shawn who was at her daughters graduation!
A police officer outside Houston fatally shot a woman during a scuffle over a Taser at an apartment complex late Monday, authorities said. The incident was captured on social media and circulated overnight, CBS Houston affiliate KHOU-TV reported. In the video, the woman can be heard shouting "I'm pregnant" multiple times before she is shot.
Baytown Police Lt. Steve Dorris on Tuesday afternoon identified the woman as Pamela Turner and said his department has confirmed Turner was not pregnant. However I thhink we should do our own investigation on that fact. He didn't immediately respond to questions from CBS News over whether the determination was made through an autopsy. However, family members told KHOU that Turner was not pregnant. Turner's niece told the station the woman had mental health issues and had had prior run-ins with Baytown police.
Dorris earlier said an officer on patrol saw the 45-year-old Turner, whom the officer had encountered before. He knew the woman had outstanding warrants, so he approached her to arrest her.
This morning we have more audio from our live broadcast from uptown Charlotte doing the Charlotte shout festival which was held this past weekend as we produced our show in front of a live studio audience this morning we are playing a portion of the program and which we talked about a white waitress being discriminated against in Charlotte. A black patron did not want a white waitressed serving him so he asked for a black one and we discussed it and the question is do you have to prefer a certain server at a restaurant?
The 20 minute morning show did our first live broadcast at the Charlotte shout the festival this past Saturday, May 11 at the Marriott hotel and a nice beautiful coffee shop called Coco and the Director at the corner of trade and Tryon… Shawn was not there but Sundi AK and Monifa Drayton guest starred on the show..We were invited by the Queencitypodcastnetwork.com to be on stage from 10 AM until 1130 ...One of the topics we discussed were Ayesha Curry The wife of Golden State warrior Stephen Curry about her wanting attention from men to make herself feel like she was still attractive.

He is a truly motivated brother and inspiring!
Two people were killed and four others wounded in a shooting Tuesday at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, authorities said. We got a chance to go on campus last night and speak with some of the students and get their account of what transpired during those three harrowing hours before the police gave the all clear on campus. Police identified the suspect later in the day as Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22. They said he was being charged with two counts of murder and four of attempted murder, among other crimes.
Pop singer Rhianna is being asked to dress very modestly by her Muslim boyfriend. In the Muslim world women are asked to dress modestly but can Rhianna tone down her sex appeal and keep her record sales going. We had an interesting conversation about her dilemna.
The latest police shooting in Charlotte has become a national conversation about the use of force and how police officers use their body cam videos. Also there are questions surrounding the release of body cam videos and what can be edited and taken out for public consumption. The people of Charlotte North Carolina saw the full 11 minutes and were Shocked to see the display of callousness of the Charlotte Mecklenburg police Department especially after they had shot Donquarius Franklin and did not administer any first aid..... it was unbelievable to watch this take place. Also even after seeing the full video one of our cast members still believes that the police were justified in shooting this young man .
A Mecklenburg County judge on Tuesday ordered the release of the 11 minute-plus video from the body camera of Wende Kerl, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who shot and killed Danquirs Franklin.
Superior Court Judge Lisa Bell said she will rule later whether CMPD is in contempt of court for withholding video from the scene when Kerl killed Franklin at a west Charlotte Burger King on March 25.
Under a previous court order, CMPD last week publicly released two minutes and 20 seconds of video captured by Kerl’s camera. But CMPD withheld nearly nine minutes of video from the public, employees of three TV stations who petitioned the court for the footage and the judge who ruled the recording should be released.
NAACP President Corine Mack has seen the video and on this episode we hear her analysis
As gentrification continues to grow around the Howard university campus in Washington DC the new residents who are moving in that area are using the campus as a sort of doggie park leaving feces all around the campus… Students and administrators are highly upset at what is being done to the school… We got on a conversation about dogs and how they are living in houses now and people treating their dog as a human
They say by the year 2035 that full benefits for Social Security will be dried up… While some people are waiting on reparations you better get your side hustle on in the meantime… Also in politics are some of the members of the black political Caucus show offs or grandstanding when they get in front of the camera discussing issues… Like Auntie Maxine?
No limit Larry is helping to galvanize the grassroots community leaders in Charlotte to come together and unify to stop the killing in Charlotte. I’ve been knowing No Limit since the early 90s and he has consistently been in the community making a difference in the lives of young people and plus him being a native of Charlotte he knows the communities that he talks to every morning. In the great legacy of power 98 morning shows No Limit been in that power seat for 21 years in Charlotte , a feat that should not be taken lightly. He talks about the recent week of activities on how he has used his show to bring people together while we were uptown for the solidarity unity gathering at Trade and Tryon
Rapper Kodak Black attempted to hide his face with cash as he stepped out of jail Thursday afternoon after being arrested for weapon and drug possession.
At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Kodak, 21, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, and three associates were detained by U.S. Border and Customs Protection while trying to cross the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge — a bridge between the U.S. and Canada, New York State Police confirmed in a press release.

The city of Charlotte is still trying to come to an understanding of why another black man Donquairus Franklin who was shot and killed by Charlotte Mecklenburg police back on March 25 on Beatties Ford rd. The issue now after watching the video as that officers got on the scene and within 40 seconds he was shot to death. Was that enough time to make a correct assessment, and why so quick to shoot? One of our cast members Sundi had his first chance to weigh in on the situation and he is siding with the police officers saying that he would have shot as well....listen to this episode and tell us what you think? Listen to the end of the video and I am predicting that the cryptic words from a woman we interviewed on the day of the shooting will come back to haunt this case.
On today’s episode why does Shawn player hate on Tiger Woods we also discuss Fort Valley State and the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority member who is caught up in a prostitution ring. Another topic is black women dating outside of the black community are there any black men available... also I get a little controversial on the burning of the cathedral at Notre Dame, is it a sign for the children who have been abused by the priest in the Catholic Church and have never been given justice? I believe some people are looking at it that way....
On today's Podcast Alecia Jeanetta Johnson, the former Fort Valley State University executive assistant to the president, was indicted Friday for prostitution and pimping in a scandal that rocked the tiny college last summer.
Johnson Publishing Company, the founder and former owner of Ebony and Jet magazines, is being liquidated.
The company filed for bankruptcy liquidation last Tuesday. The magazines themselves were sold off in 2016.
It’s a sad end to what was once a groundbreaking and iconic publishing house that documented African American life and African American success stories when few others did.
Johnson Publishing is also credited with helping to launch the civil rights movement when founder and publisher John H. Johnson made the momentous decision to publish in Jet magazine open coffin images of the mutilated body of Emmett Till, the 14-year-old Chicago boy murdered in Mississippi in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman.
Singer Aveon Falstar has gone public with an explosive secret, saying he carried on a sexual affair with Wendy Williams’ husband Kevin Hunter in 2018.
Speaking to rising blogger and YouTube star Tasha K. on her show “unWineWithTashaK,” Falstar explained how his singing talents brought him to the attention of producers for the “Wendy Williams Show.” After he wowed the mostly female crowd during a pre-show taping, it eventually resulted in being signed by Kevin Hunter.
Former Charlotte Mecklenburg police officer Keith Way weighs in on the latest CMPD police shooting involving a black man in Charlotte. Danquirs Franklin was shot by offficer Wendy Kerl during a disturbance at the burger king on Beatties ford road. The question is, did they try hard enough to de-escalate the situation?
Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers fatally shot a 27-year-old black man on Beatties Ford Rd., Monday morning March 25th in the 9 AM hour....the witnesses that were there said that he did not pose a threat to the police officers as they were Commanding him to drop a weapon. One of the main witnesses that we had a chance to speak to said that he did not have a gun and you all shot the wrong person...On today’s Rebroadcast episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show hear the real people of Charlotte on the streets who have information that is not being talked about on the main stream media...listen well and you will hear phrases that are not being used on the main stream media especially the interaction between the two officers once the shots had been fired. When the tape is released measure up the information on this podcast to what will be given to the public
On yesterday Nation Of Islam Minister, Tony Muhammad From Mosque number 27 in Los Angeles California told the back story of Nipsey Hussle’s death and the man that killed him..Nipsey Hussle’s mother told LAPD that I don’t fuck with LAPD to their face in a meeting regarding her son’s funeral procession.. you have got to tune in to hear the information of things that happened behind the scenes that you will never hear in the mainstream media..You need to hear the courage and strength of a family in grief and how The Nation gave them comfort.
A secial thank you to The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for his leadership
What a beautiful home going celebration it was for Nipsey Hussle on yesterday in Los Angeles ..wonderful words were spoken about a man who used his resources to transform human life and his community… He was well loved there is no question about that how could a man have so much impact on the world in such a short life span of 33 years… I find his story incredible and I also find the love that his longtime girlfriend actress Lauren London had for him was inspiring. We play back her words that touched America from yesterday. Also the number one country artist in America is a black man but they’re trying to say his song is not country enough to be deemed the number one song on the country Billboard charts we talk about it.

Dyma Loving is a young lady from Miami Dade County Florida who was manhandled by the police after she made a call requesting help from the police from a man in the neighborhood who pointed a rifle at she and another lady. Because they did not like the tone in which she was talking to them in they decided that she was going to be arrested because of her noncompliance according to them. What is it about black people that even when we are the victims of a crime we become the prey of the police because they see no value or humanity in us that we should be protected by them...we become the prey. My question is what are the police going to do when one day black men rise up and fight you on the spot to the death over the abuse of our women and children....at some point that is going to happen unless they change their attitude towards us..
During a casual conversation with one of my industry friends Luther Clark who is a pioneer in the music business working with some of the top artists from ground level like Destiny’s Child, Bow Wow, MARY MARY, Nas, Luther Vandross, Beyoncé, Carey and many more... I asked him did he ever work with Nipsey Hussle and he did when Nipsey was first starting out about 15 years ago and he share some of his time working with Nipsey Hussle. He also talks about the many aspects of the music business grind.
Kodak black made some terrible statements that he has since retracted about trying to come on to Lauren London after the death of her boyfriend rapper Nipsey Hussle. His comments were very distasteful and the whole hip-hop community has come out against him we discuss it on today’s brief 20 minute morning show
Isn’t it unfortunate that somebody has to die and order for people to make a step towards change but it seems like it always ends up that way. The death of Nipsey Hussle has brought gangs in Los Angeles together in a truce that hasn’t happened in 27 years where they are putting their differences aside to become unified over the spilled blood of their brother who was trying to bring them together and stop the killing. This is what I called the power of love of a human being that touched you so much that for at least this moment in time the guns can be put away and the act of unification can begin. That’s why in this episode I am trying to explain that atonement is the only way out for us as a people to heal the fractured relationships that have gone on for years that it is only love that will stop the killing and not the lack of resources. The black man and woman like the scripture talks about that balm in Gilead must heal and make the wounds of our disunity whole. But of course we did not agree on this solution so listen for yourself and judge for yourself and please make a comment and let us know what you thin..is it A lack of love or lack of resources that makes killing each other so easy?
Despite authorities’ claims that no foul play was involved, Blair’s relatives believe he was murdered and say their loved one had no reason to take his own life. Blair’s older brother wrote on the GoFundMe page raising funds for the young man’s funeral that Taemon was on the track of “becoming a great man” and doubled down on his belief that his brother’s death wasn’t a suicide.

The reasons why the black family is in a chaotic state is because black men do not have control of their households. If you ran a business and didn’t have control over its operation it would be a very unorganized place to work, and where there is no discipline there is no structure and there is no love. Black men must take control of their household in order for the family to be successful but it seems like we disagreed on this episode. People misunderstand the word control and dictatorship. You do not have to be a dictator to control your home. We are talking about order and making sure things get done in the proper manner. Also we talked about Wendy Williams, where it seems like she is unraveling before us, and I brought up the fact that, could this be karma coming back at her like a ton of bricks?
Today on the 20 minute morning show we talk about Joe Biden former vice president of the United States inappropriately touching women. Some of Joe Biden’s female associates are telling the public now that they have felt uncomfortable with his touching and kissing that seems to be unprofessional. We got into a good debate about this on the show and we would love your feedback you can hit us up on our Facebook page at 20 minute morning show or on Twitter at @20morning . Also is wearing tight jeans and tight yoga pants appropriate in today’s society? Why are women offended when men gawk at them because they have tight clothing on.
Rapper, entrepreneur, community leader, legacy builder, Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in front of his clothing store at the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson in Los Angeles on Sunday. Nipsey was 33 years old was the new father of a child with actress Lauren London and on his way to helping the black community by getting information out about healthy living. He was in the process of putting together a documentary about the works of Dr. Sebi who had cured AIDS and cancer and patients through his knowledge of how to combine herbs. Nipsey wanted this information to get out to the black community so that we could heal and a lot of people are saying that is the reason why he was marked for death. Witnesses say that it was a black man who pumped six bullets in him five to the body and one to the head some people on the scene say it was a military style killing. On today’s episode we talk about this and you’ll hear some of the reaction that people had when they found out about the death of Nipsey Hussle may he rest in peace and power forever and may God elevate his good works.
On Thursday a black woman named Kendal Clark was on her way to school driving on N. Tryon St. near 28th in the city of Charlotte North Carolina where she was caught in the crossfire between two groups of men shooting at one another and she was hit in the head by a stray bullet that was not meant for her.In this episode we got a chance to talk to some of her closest friends about what kind of person she was. It is a shame of what happened to an innocent woman who was going about her business and working hard to be successful. The community is hurt and we must do more to produce the type of love in our community that stops violence.
On Todays episode A South Carolina fifth-grader who was injured when a fight broke out in her classroom died Wednesday, school officials said.
Raniya Wright, Wednesday morning after a fight at Forest Hills Elementary School in Walterboro, Colleton County School District officials said.
The fight was between two fifth-grade students. So a parent has a dead child caused by injuries from bullying. I believe there should be extreme penalties for bully. There should be a no tolerance. Are the teachers at fault? Why did the administration not resolve this as the parents of Raniya asked them to address this bullying and she got no assistance. What a shame a child had to die like this. Poor Raniya. We are so sorry for this families loss.
Well something happened in America that people never thought they would see Jusse Smollett was cleared of all 16 counts against him in the fake attack that took place in Chicago . Is it the power of the gay mafia in high places to protect one of their own? is there such a thing as gay black male privilege? Did the Chicago Police Department botch this case or was this a miracle to see a black man walk free on 16 felony counts against. Hey white people get away with these kinds of crimes everyday. Also on this episode do you believe that the black community should carry guns to defend themselves
Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers fatally shot a 27-year-old black man on Beatties Ford Rd., Monday morning in the 9 AM hour....the witnesses that were there said that he did not pose a threat to the police officers as they were Commanding him to drop a weapon. One of the main witnesses that we had a chance to speak to said that he did not have a gun and you all shot the wrong person...On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show we speak to the real people of Charlotte on the streets who have information that is not being talked about on the main stream media...listen well and you will hear phrases that are not being used on the main stream media especially the interaction between the two officers once the shots had been fired.
On today’s episode we do an internal audit of how the show is going AK from our news team gave us a critique on whether Bj Shawn and Sundi are arguing too much on the show instead of debating… Shawn disagrees with AK and kind of insults him in the process of giving the show a critique . What do you think?
Please leave us a comment and let us know if you’ve been listening to the show for a while and what you think about it.
Also Alexander Kayden reports on Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Police chief are leading a push to re-examine evidence from a string of murders that terrorized the black community between 1979 and 1981
Let me say that I am not a John McCain fan per se but I am not for the Gross disrespect that President Trump is heaping on the legacy of John McCain and his family. The man is a war veteran he was a POW. Trump never served in the military yet he continues to disrespect this man seven months after his death. Some people cannot understand how a human being could be so callous of speaking of the dead in such a manner,..particularly if that person is the President of the United States which is supposed to be the lead example of civility in the free world. President Trump has no manners in my opinion but Shawn seems to defend President Trump‘s actions against former Senator John McCai. listen to this episode and decide for yourself whether President Trump has gone too far especially when he made those comments in front of US military personnel.
Interesting conversation today on the 20 minute morning show about R&B artist Daniel Caesar who made a video on Periscope yesterday asking his followers why do black people treat white people so mean and if a white person gives you back the negative energy that you’re giving them why do you complain about it. He says that’s not equality. After he made those statements black twitter went crazy on him so he got some pushback. In our conversation today, Shawn brought up the fact that Daniel Caesar slept in his car and that Black aspiring artist should not have to do that because a door should be open to you as much as we’ve given to America… Sundi and myself disagreed with her because if you want anything in this life you are going to have to sacrifice. Listen in and see which side of the conversation you fall on.
The views and opinions expressed in this episode are that of the Author Bobby Beverly and not necessarily the opinions of the 20 minute morning show staff :
On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show author and historian Bobby Beverly is making claims that Jesse Jackson had something to do with the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. He gives names and circumstances under which Dr. King jr was set up to be murdered on the balcony of the Lorraine hotel in 1968. Mr. Beverly claims that the way Doctor King died and has been told to the American public is false. Was Dr. King still alive when he was shot on the balcony of the Lorraine hotel and did they kill him at the hospital? Hear for yourself..
With March madness about to kick off this week isn’t it so unfair that the NCAA makes billions of dollars and the basketball players who are predominately black make no money during this tournament season? Even in the gambling industry they’re going to rack up $9.2 billion betting on the games... you have to ask yourself when will this end and why is it allowed to happen, and the number one thing that is keeping these industries going is fear and cowardice and dis-unity among black athletes in all the major sports in America… Also on today’s episode another round of reparations talk how much money would each black American get if they were cut a check for reparations… Shawn gets a compliment from a listener … And is Bj too sensitive?
Who is Beto O’Rourke? Is he the white version of Barack Obama… They are deeming him as the new Democratic rockstar who could take on Donald Trump in 2020… He recently said that he is not for reparations and where every Democratic candidate has been asked about this question black people have to decide who they’re going to put their support behind... is the reparations platform the only car that black people have left for political power in America… Should we hold the reparations question as the standard bearer for any candidate we wish to support... what about the question of separation can you have reparations without separation?
Are you tired of the R Kelly drama yet? I think we are getting burnout from talking about it because people are making up things that just are not true that take away the seriousness of the moment with R Kelly and these young women. The parents are involved making a side show. I think Gail is making a side show by exposing black people and capitalizing off of our need for attention. We also talk about in this episode the education scandal where major universities will be sued by students who couldn't get in and more of the white privilege scams will be uncovered in the coming weeks. Also, the Jussie Smollett case is in play now with him strutting in the courtroom and wanting cameras to be present so that according to him, they could show the lack of evidence that is against him. All this and more conversation on the 20 minute morning show today.
By now I know you have heard about the educational cheating scandal where wealthy parents were paying alot of money to give their children an unfair advantage for admissions into prestigious colleges. Wealthy parents have been bribing officials to get into Ivy League schools since the inception of these prestigious colleges and universities. So does hard work really have anything to do with it if you can pay your way in. This is the power of white privilege in America where people have been paying for degrees paying for people to write their dissertation papers paying for people to take admissions test… And now maybe black people will wake up to the game that has been played on them for centuries.. Also in this episode Wendy Williams called her studio audience the N-word and Stacey Abrams from Georgia is thinking about putting her name on the list of people running for president in 2020.
In today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show could it be that Shawn has exposed BJ’s hypocrisy in the R. Kelly drama… And what is this R. Kelly case doing to black America? Are we nailing our black men to the cross in the court of public opinion but failing to hold white celebrities to the same standards? Are we all hypocrites… are black people afraid of criticizing the Jewish power structure in entertainment? I am feeling some kind of way about Oprah and Gayle and the Role they are playing in demonizing black men, but not Harvey Weinstein who is their personal friend but is one of the worst offenders against women in the history of Hollywood.. the question has to be, why are they not nailing him to the cross like they are doing with Michael Jackson and R. Kelly.
Today we took it to the streets of Charlotte North Carolina and the heart of the black community Beatties Ford Road and LaSalle to get opinions about the R. Kelly situation I want you to listen to the children and what they said about R. Kelly and some viewpoints from some women who have been analyzing the situation with the women who were around R. Kelly I think you will enjoy what the people had to say on the 20 minute morning show today
Today on the 20 minute morning show we give our take on the interview done by Gail king of CBS News with RKelly. Did he help his case or did he further incriminate himself as a pedophile based off the public’s judgment of him. One of the questions BJ had was why did he choose Gayle King to be his interviewer number two why in all the high profile cases concerning black men that we’ve seen recently from Jussie Smollett to R. Kelly and new Michael Jackson allegations that black women are the interviewers and what is behind that strategy. One question that BJ had was can R Kelly now get a fair trial with so much publicity.
Did R. Kelly hurt himself or help himself with that interview showing his raw emotions. We had a very passionate discussion about it like always so please give us your opinion on our Facebook page @20 minute morning show or on Twitter @20morning
My dear 85 year old Aunt Carol Jean passed away last week in Elizabethtown NC a small town outside of Wilmington NC in the sandhills of bladen county. My mother was raised there, all 11 of her brothers and sisters. They were a farming family and most of them went they got a chance to move up north, they ran to the state of New Jersey and never looked back. My Aunt Carol left, but she cam back home and settled there until her recent passing. We use to have some good times in the summer when we were children. Tobacco fields, good cooking from Grandma and hanging with all my cousin's for a week.
In this episode my first cousins and I discuss us coming together outside of funerals and getting closer again. We had a great brief discussion before we had to get in our cars and proceed to the church, but I did capture a great moment between us.
Women are getting tired of men cheating on them ...Shawn seems to think that women are tolerating these men because of financial security she says that when a mans keys hit the door, most women are like God why did you do this to me ...LOL and they are faking their way through these relationships.. I can’t believe I’m having a discussion about the Kardashian’s… But there was something worth noting about the way they treated the black girl that kissed Tristan Thompson the serial cheater...Leave us a comment on our Facebook page @20minutemorningshow and on Twitter @20morning
Do you ever think that Nigerian Pastors are mimicking what they see Black Pastors in the United States do? Did you see the Nigerian Pastor Ressurect a so called dead man? There was one pastor in Africa who had some holy water he claimed he got from heaven and the people believed it… I believe that’s why US Clergy go over to Africa for these ministries because the people are so gullible and they misuse their sincerity.... in this episode we talk about the state of our black pastors and how black communities are suffering because of their lack of leadership.... is it cool for your pastor to have a jet plane to have a Mazeratti or Bentley when there are people in your congregation that may not have a car or decent housing ...You may agree or you may disagree...Please leave a comment we would love to hear from you… And of course we are not talking about your pastor right?

It seems that Bernie Sanders the beloved Democratic presidential candidate has run into a stumbling block when it comes to talking about reparations for a black people in America… Bernie Sanders was cornered by Wolf Blitzer on CNN during the town hall meeting discussing reparations, our show today we play the clip of him stumbling and bumbling and trying to finagle his way out of saying yay or nay to reparations… Sundi always has A different spin on reparations than Shawn and BJ. It was a very lively discussion listen and see which side of the reparations debate you fall on today’s episode
With Billy Porter wearing his Tuxedo dress to the Oscar awards this past weekend it seems he is helping to introduce a culture called "feminine manhood"… I hear women accusing men of toxic masculinity… Is feminine manhood the opposite? Do women even want real men anymore who don’t subscribe to that type of lifestyle? Do we have a culture going on in the black community in regards to this… And why are we always the ones being ushered out before the world to help promote this new alternative lifestyle from transgender lifestyles everything about that culture black people seem to be the poster children for it..
We have updates on R. Kelly and Jussie Smollett....Shawn says most women lay down with their man to keep the peace… Robert Kraft the New England Patriots owner is paying for sex… We asked the question if you ever had your light bill or car payment paid by a man for sex are you a prostitute ? BJ. is friends with a prostitute and they try to clown him.
In this episode did you know that there is some DNA evidence on a T-shirt that’s going to be introduced in the R. Kelly case? Ak covers that in UIN ....R. Kelly is broke he does not own the rights to "I believe I can fly" ....did you know that there is going to be a surviving R. Kelly tour… The lawyers are going at it R. Kelly’s attorney says All the women are lying .... Michael Avenatti says it’s amateur hour in Chicago....
The jig is up it’s official!! I told you two weeks ago that the attack on Jussie Smollett never happened it never took place…Listen to the show this morning to get an update and can you believe that Shawn is still defending him saying that it did take place…..Our UIN Uncut News team has uncovered an exclusive story about a retailer that black people go to selling T-shirts with a nooses on them Alexander Kayden investigates.....Kamala Harris talked about smoking weed and Sundi Speaks out against smoking marijuana..
